Video project: Flight of dreams, video film about a flooded cargo river port in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny, the Republic of Tatarstan.
During the construction of the KAMAZ Automobile Plant, the enterprise had a need for its own river port. The equipment was very large and for it his own pier was required.
In 1972, in Naberezhnye Chelny on Kama, the construction of a pier was started and completed to receive ships with a variety of foreign and domestic equipment. The ships that were unloaded arrived from around the world. Powerful portal cranes worked in the port. The port not only accepted each navigation, but also sent new KamAZ cars on Kama. The cargo pier served until the beginning of the 1990s.
The port could only work before the ceiling of the Kama, which occurred in November 1978. Therefore, already in 1976, the construction of a new cargo port began.
After raising the level of the Kama, the pier was flooded. Currently, the port is almost all flooded and turned into an island, the remains of the road were preserved in the form of a braid.
