YOU GUYS ARE MEANT FOR EACH OTHER , ITS SOO CUTE TO SEE HOW YOU GUYS FINISH EACH OTHERS SENTENCES. MAY THE LORD CONTINUE BLESSING YOUR BUSINESS AND MARRIAGE. FELICIDADES !!
Aloha! May I just say... I LOVE you two creating content back in your home kitchen. A very different (cozy) vibe than when you were in the workroom at your shop ☺️
I LOVE those soft colors. They're so tranquil. I love looking at BoHo, but I don't think I could have it in my house. I need soft, faded, white, chippy. Calms me down.
Looks exactly like the gun cabinet my mother finished for my dad’s birthday before I was born in’65! I inherited it but it is just sitting in the spare bedroom.... you’ve given me the solution for my master bathroom renovation storage! Thanks so much!
Just at the beginning of the video and I know the cabinet will be wonderful, however a simpler fix than replacing the glass for others could be to use a frosting spray designed for privacy windows could work as well 😊
The cabinet is going to look amazing as always cant wait to see it finished. Its so fun to watch everything you two transform into something thats amazing.
Jami, I love watching you paint, it is relaxing to me, would love to be there to help you out with finishing off the house. I worked in construction with my father, I have help build at least 5 houses plus build my father’s last house ( he was 85 and I was around 55) it was 2800 sq ft with two car garage . I have given tips I learned from my Dad to Zeb every where I could when he seemed stuck. Blessings to you, Zeb, your Mom’s and Dad’s and the kids! Love ya! g
It’s actually not the best because I (Jami) did it and I am no pro. But with all we have in front of it it’s hard to tell and the overall look is cool. I was feeling like maybe it was just me struggling. But my tile guy said that tile was not easy when he installed it in the guest shower. And it took him about twice as long. But in the end the imperfections are hard to detect and the overall look makes it worth it. I’m so glad we put it in. When you walk into our home it’s a huge feature you see first thing
If you found one for me and I could pay to have it imported I would be the happiest girl in the world ❤️❤️❤️❤️. I am dying for some good European antiques. Zebs great great great Grandfather immigrated from Sweden to Lehi where we live now and I would to have some antiques from his ancestral homeland. ❤️
@@JamiRayVintage I promise to keep an eye out if I find one! 😄 You see them mostly online here in Sweden (like www.blocket.se ,if you search moraklocka) Many times for as little as $70! Your home is beautiful btw, I love it! 😄
Oh yes, I would love to have a Mora clock. They are so french country looking. My home is part shabby chic, part french country. And a few other things mixed in here and there. No lace though. More french country. That green you are using is very pretty. Cannot wait to see the finished product.
Zeb, there is a point pusher that is used for framing pictures you can get at art store . It is similar to glass glazing pins in how they work. The framing pin is like a pliers in there action. Would be great to use at the shop because you do so much work with old mirrors .
That clock is amazing I cant wait to see your whole house decorated. so many beautiful things, I cant believe how nice you dress to paint I am so messy when I paint
I don’t like changing and I pretty much paint at least a little bet everyday. So I just try and be careful. I’m much better at painting on camera than I used to be. Much neater. But if I have to paint a ton of stuff in a hurry I usually make a mess
I think you need to put the glass back into the curio case and store linens it it. It will work great. I bought my first furniture in the 70s and it was wood. I had no pressed wood. Hot glue or clear silicone would be easier for holding that glass in. Glaziers points are a pain and it is easy to break the glass. Framers points are easier but you will need the “gun” to use them. It costs $20-30. I used those half inch number 6 screws all day long in my shop. Retired picture framer Linda in Va.
The main function of this case is to hide our electric toothbrushes and waterflosser that I don’t want seen on my counter. Secondly towel storage. It will also keep medicine etc. all things that really aren’t pretty. I think once people see it in place they will love it. The bead board makes it look like an old farmhouse cabinet. When it’s upright it’s really pretty and looks so much better than when it’s laying down ❤️
"You may have noticed I paint a lot of my personal items in milk paint, because I am not super picky"! Classic! Bet you sell a lot of paint with that one!😂
Great idea and love the color. I like your appliances. Can you tell me what brand they are and where you got them, Am looking for a gas stove with double oven. Thank you
Hey Jami I was wondering as I watched you guys paint today if using DIY Salvation Solutions before MilkPaint would also help keep it from chipping too much?
🦋Watching on the replay. I’m excited to see the outcome on this piece. Do you have a JRV STENCIL RETAILER in NC, near Raleigh? There’s a retailer near Fuquay-Varuna, NC that’s listed as an IOD Retailer, but they have no Moulds or other products. I hate that, I have a long drive.
I’m not sure about IOD. If you go to jrvwholesale.com we have a map. I have a hard time remembering where all the retailers are. My retail director and sister Moriah keeps track of everyone for me ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve always used chalk paint, but I have to say I really really like the milk paint! I would love to milk paint my bedroom furniture in a soft pink. Any suggestions?
Oh yes. Try first crush. It’s sooooo good. Buy a sample off the website and try it out. Samples are $6 so not a huge investment. A great way to play with new colors. www.jamirayvintage.com
Your videos are always fun to watch - even if I’m too late to watch them live. LOVE your printers cabinet. Actually, I love all of your cupboards and cabinets. And floors. And bead board, etc. Lol. ❤️ Oh, I would wear a tee shirt about electrical outlets, living in a remodeled 1926 bungalow.
@@JamiRayVintage A person who has been deprived of electrical outlets will appreciate a tee - electrical outlets and truly proper plumbing makes me more happy than anything (including my Botox 🤩). Now there is a tee shirt. ❤️
Lol plumbing and electrical is everything. I just like all my outlets out of direct line of site 😂😂. I’m so glad our plumbing is all brand new including the old house. Nothing is worse than pipes backing up
@@JamiRayVintage Oh my gosh. I cannot even tell you how my sense of well being is with all new plumbing (it has been the greatest gift). And the outlets. And the addition of bathrooms. Well, I could go on but won’t. Thank you for sharing your hard earned journey ... RU-vid videos condenses real life. Can’t believe we were watching Zeb up on the roof and little you up there too just a few months ago. And everything in between. From my comfy bed in Minneapolis (11 degrees), I wish you and your family all the best. ❤️
I love the idea and the execution, a beautiful cabinet, however the handles on the fridge and the gap between the stove and the end cabinet is killing me. 😜
I have a question. I should have saved it for a live but I’m sure someone will see the comment: I crank away on the furniture, I also have a booth. I do resin art as well, then there’s the custom work. My husband desperately wants to quit his job and start doing furniture with me, but he has absolutely no experience in building/painting anything! He is pretty enthusiastic about it but he is really hard on himself. He’s doing great on his first project, when would be a sign for him to quit his job other than the money part? We has two kids also and I can’t get much done at home with the kids, he works long hours.
Great questions. When Zeb quit his job I was at the point where I was so busy I couldn’t take any more work snd he spent his evenings and spare time away from his job helping me with repairs and prep so I could paint as much as I could the next day. As to your husbands skill set...anything can be taught and learned to a willing student. Start by working within your combined skill set and the skills will expand quickly. When we started Zeb had only ever used a lathe in wood shop a few times in high school. Now he can turn anything I need him to and do all the other woodworking besides
maybe rethink the light, it would help you find things inside, those things that get shoved to the back.... it would really help find things since you will have glass shelves, but...i have 60 year old eyes....but just another thing i would steal if i was a thief....big sigh....i can't envy or covet...i just want one LIKE the pantry, hutches and now this.....
It’s not super deep and with solid items in it like towels it would really only illuminate the top shelf. ❤️. Also maybe some day a hutch will find you. If I was your daughter I would get you one. I am on the hunt for some cool stuff for my moms room, it makes me happy to create spaces for my family
Not going to paint the inside. It’ll have shelves and things inside snd we’ll keep the doors closed. 👍 We’ll sand the paint drips off on the inside and it’ll be just how it was already finished.
I agree. But with 8 people plus friends over we need lots of space. So definitely functionality is key. We’re having Slipcovers made in white and a little more form fitting I think that along with some throw pillows will make it look better ❤️. You never have to be sorry, I’m happy to have opinions.
