This an 80s ecchi anime gem. I feel this deserves more and could have been made into a series.

I love the animation in these old anime, I really miss the imagination and uniqueness of old hand drawn style anime, most modern anime I find now are far to sterile and safe so they can be marketed to the masses

These is one of those ovas, that can start in one way and go wiild, i watch it and i think could have been an aaizing serie and the animation was so 80 and i love it

It's a shame Dream Hunter Rem is not as noticeable here in the west. I mean come on look at her, a courageous & cute woman donning a bikini armor fighting evil in dreams is so badazz!

That's probably because no western licensors had pick this up back in the 90's (during the anime OVAs VHS era). I mean Central Park Media, Manga Entertainment, Streamline Pictures, AnimEigo, Right Stuf/Nozomi Entertainment, nor ADV Films back in the 90's didn't even took notice of this particular OVA. I'm surprised ADV Film or Nozomi Entertainment didn't pick this up in the 90's when the OVA VHS boom was happening. I wondered why this wasn't picked up back in the 90's. I've seen much edgier anime then Dream Hunter Rem from the 80's & 90's getting picked up for US release (ie: Violence Jack, Genocyber, M.D Geist, Wicked City), and yet no US companies could pick up this particular OVA.

I had the artbook from the first OVA. I had to order it from Books Nippon back in the day when mail order was still a thing. Wish I still had it, even though it was all in Japanese.

I screened this (clean version) for my local anime club when I worked at the public library. I genuinely enjoyed it, and several club members seemed... ahem... "aware" of the hentai origins.
