Lizz...man, I love this song ever since you put it out and I was in High School when it first came out. You wouldn't believe how many times I had to listen to the radio to catch it and record it. You are one of the first artists that had me calling radio stations to request a song. I loved your song that much..and to this day. Keep doing your thing! Much respect!

Lizz, you have no idea how you changed the life of many many Brazilians with this track. Dream Lover is a huge hit for the black community in São Paulo. Trust me: your music made a difference for many couples here. How many babies was born because of your music? Everytime I heard that is a synonym of goosebumps. Thanks you and thanks to Chris Jasper for this masterpiece. Love you ♥
I was in college in 1989 when this album came out, and this song got me a lil pregnant-ish. My 27 year old daughter now has a 5 year old son, and I tell them all the time that they are all here because of "Dreamlover".
Such a "Classy" lady. I met Liz in 1990 when she performed @ Blues Alley in D.C. She is such a wonderful entertainer & great vocalist. That night I also got to meet the late great Spencer Harrison who sang background with her on Dream Lover. She & Spencer are graduates of Philadelphia's Overbrook High School aka "The School On The Hill & Liz is a Morgan State University graduate. I spoke with her after the show & she was so "Down To Earth". God Bless you Liz & keep on singing.
I still have Vicious & Fresh…on cassette. Thanks goes to Chris Jasper of The Isley Brothers/Isley Jasper Isley and especially you, Liz for a song that has stood the test of time.
I heard this song many many years ago and could never put a face to the singer, Sister you are a true talent, I just love this song, I am a 65 year old senior citizen and this song gets me to get up and step a bit like the old days, Damn I don't think that YOU got the glory that you were ever due in your career with this great vocal range that you have, what a wonderful song written by Mr. Chris Jasper, I am glad that you sung this, I will share this with my grandchildren tomorrow, thank you Sister you made my day.

We don't know what they doing over there but we steppin' over here! With the much appreciated help of Lizz Hogue and her "Dream Lover"! Do it, babe!!!

You may have not sung this song in 26 years but u sure didn't let your fans down this song means so much to me thank you for being part of the soundtrack of my life !!
Me and my homeboy came up on this song about 3 years ago on The Old School Showdown radio show on 92.7 WDZZ there in Flint, Michigan. From that point on, this song has stayed in rotation. It's a classic record.
love love love. I met Liz while she was performing at Westbury music fair many years ago with Norwood. I was with the Stylistics. We had a great conversation and realized she thought I was my brother who she remembered from high school. More talk led to I went to junior high with her husband. Small world and good people. Liz was talented then and can still blow. Much continued success.
I promise you, when this song was first played on the radio, I thought it was A'ngela Winbush. Miss. Winbush was due to come out with a new album. So, I IMMEDIATELY - I mean IMMEDIATELY called the radio station to verify this. The DJ said " No, it's not A'ngela. It's a new artist named Liz Hogue and she is produced by Chris Jasper." I'm telling you, I was hooked. After I called and the broadcast resumed, the DJ said, "We've been getting a lot of calls about the song we played before going to commercial break. The artist' name is Liz Hogue" That was in spring of 1989. I was 22. I remember that like it was yesterday. We need more singers like Liz Hogue.
As a little boy, I heard your voice and knew what love was. As a full grown man I still feel the same emotions as a child when I hear this. I love you Liz Hogue!!!
I love this song . I always have. I play it over and over again. I was 19 years old when the album debuted in 1989.Brings back fond memories.Thank you for the video.
Yes they are still playing it. And I'm 60 years old and still listening to it I must've been 30 that was 30 years ago! because it still the jam! I came home tonight after a stepping class they played it during the class tonight and all the women love it! and I had to come home and play it again!
My sentiments as well. 31 years to be exact. When a song that while ago can evoke the same feelings 31 years later, that's REAL music and REAL SINGING.
In the 90's his songs were very successful in the dance houses here in Brazil, especially DREAM LOVER ... His voice is still perfect ... Thanks for the magic!
I've been looking for this song of yours for years! I remember hearing it on the radio here in Detroit one evening while doing homework. It will definitely be added to my playlist. Such good music!
