Hehehe Now that Voiceplay has you warmed up, check out their cover of Nothing Else Matters... Yes, they cover Metallica. And White Stripes, and Kansas, and about 150 other amazing songs and counting.
Apparently, Omar and Cesar were roommates at college and stayed friends. Omar comes on and sings with Voiceplay often. I think he blends in beautifully.
The arrangement and video along with their stunning vocals create an amazing interpretation of this classic. It's dang hard to make such an iconic song your own while still paying homage to the original.
Thank you for reacting to VoicePlay. While the three of them are climbing up in that dream on, dream on, dream on sequence to that high note Geoff is also slowly moving up an octave at a time in the background. Although Eli and Omar are tenors, Cesar is considered a baritone. But he’s the one that hit the highest note. And recently he hit whistle tones in the cover of the Lion Sleeps Tonight. The guest artist in that one is who recently has been recast as the bass singer for the Navy choir. But he sang all those high notes. They just don’t know how to stay in their lane! Looking forward to seeing if you do any other covers by them.
Oh, also, I loved that mention of never having heard that high note sung in harmony. Great point, I never thought of that! VP makes everything brand new and fresh!
Always glad to see someone loving Voiceplay! I'm new here, I guess. Do you normally not show the video? I mean I have most of them memorized anyway, but can you ever watch too much Voiceplay? Edit: Oh, I just noticed it up in the corner of the screen, it's so faint! Here's some great news! You don't need to do that with Voiceplay! Their videos are copyright free, so everyone can enjoy them! Geoff's solo channel too! They're just awesome that way!
I enjoyed your reaction- thanks! Yes, you recognized Omar Cardona right away as he was one of the finalists on 'The Voice' a couple seasons ago. He made it all the way to the finals as he is so good but the voting audience was looking for a Country artist for the win (many of us thought he should have won). Omar is long time best friend and roommate of Voice Play member, Cesar De La Rosa so he is a frequently featured guest with Voice Play.
@lkayh There are plenty of shows where artists can display their talents and if Omar has been on any of the others I don't know it. So I find it, maybe ironic isn't the right word, interesting? amusing? that the one he almost wins is called The Voice when he features fairly often with a group called Voiceplay.
100% agree Omar was robbed! He sings with Voiceplay quite often, he’s brilliant. He and Cesar (Mohawk) are good friends/former roomies. Always a good song when you see an Omar ft. Voiceplay pick the best features.
You need to do the other 2 videos that make up this post-apocalyptic trilogy that begins with Warriors (Imagine Dragons), Dream On, followed by Seven Nation Army (White Stripes). It is Omar and he was on the Voice - but at the end he wouldn't do the country song that they wanted him to do so in spite how great he was with everything else. Cesar had the highest line. Eli was going to do it but Cesar really wanted it so Eli told him to go for it.
yo you should check out some of Tokens new stuff. Since the last time you reacted to him he's on a completely different wave. Its honestly crazy (in my opinion)
