I love this little plant , these were very popular in the mid 70’s here in California , I remember around 1975 , my aunt Martha who lived in Mountain View had started this very cool area in front of her house by the doorway with all of these very unusual houseplants and ferns in old distressed wooded containers that had been painted and this was my introduction to plants as a hobby , it was so big back then especially in small towns and San Francisco , hanging plants in very cool containers with a rustic look . I remember she had a maidenhair fern in an old fashioned driftwood looking box and next to it was the string of hearts not hanging but elevated in a cool looking distressed pot , and what was interesting was that this area was a northern exposure so it wasn’t too sunny , but I have only seen this once in lifetime , but the string of hearts at the very end of the bottom all seem to curl up at an angle , I could never get mine to grow like this , anyway it was very cool , the 70’s were so cool looking back , we actually had many little boutique type shops back then that specialized in hanging houseplants .
I dont think these guys have hit us in asia just yet 😭 I really love string of hearts but finding orange river and silver glory seems basically impossible. Hope they make there way over here soon and congrats on your dream plant!
I’m not all that sure this variety is any different than the regular. I have an old plant, and it seems that all the mature leaves eventually get that paler, round look that the Silver Glory has. The new growth looks pretty much the same as the regular variety….might be like a lot of plants, they might be cultivars, but eventually revert back to their native genetics.
