I can’t wait till you see what comes next. I’ve been here since Tommy joined EarthSMP and it’s been a wild ride, honestly I wish you could see first hand how intense and crazy cool this can get but it’d take YEARS to watch the VODS in their entirety - specifically if you look at multiple POVs. This is the best way to go about learning about the DreamSMP if you wanna get a lot of info in a more cohesive way and in a shorter amount of time.

dude, if you liked this one you will definitely like the other parts, this was like background knowledge for the rest to make sense!! they get more intricate as the story goes on and more people join the server, and it will most likely be the later parts explaining the context of a lot of the songs you've heard

This part of the story wasn’t scripted. It wasn’t until Wilbur joined when the idea of lore and role play was put on the table. This is still canon in the lore but they didn’t know that back then.

Oh man i can't wait for you to watch the rest of this series so far, the early days of DreamSMP had, atleast in my opinion, the best moments ever, also I can PROMISE you that Dream is definitely a villain, you'll start to see it once you get to the second part of this series, which I believe is the L'manberg war if I remember correctly

Blueberry TV has put together an amazing compilation of the Dream SMP vods in a tv style show, it’s really comprehensive and shows multiple perspectives if you’d like to watch a “live” version rather than the recaps (no shade at all on EvanMCGaming, the work he’s done is insane)

Dream certainly becomes more and more antagonistic and a bit off kilter as the smp drones on, and is kind of an asshole, but then again, everyone is on the dream smp in some capacity. The “villain and hero” thing is so rigi it just straight up doesnt apply. Its like wilbur says; everyone’s morally grey. There are some things dream may be right about, some things tommy is right about, so on and so forth.

@@firefliesandyou depends on who’s perspective you watch. obv if you watch quackity or sam’s they’d be very antagonistic and if you watch technoblade’s then dream would come off as very sympathetic. but like, if you follow ppl like benchtrio or sapnap pr smth then c!dream literally is a villain. no hate to ppl who sympathise with dream :]. it’s just hard to feel for him if you’ve watched the entirety of exile live.

Dream is the villain of the story, but at the start he tried to be a peace keeper. Tommy was acting like a child, so Dream treated him like one, taking away his possessions and telling him he can have them back later, which in turn got him villainized by Tommy, and in turn Tubbo aswell. He never started as the villain but he grew into the role due to a mental spiral and the constant feed that he is the villain, and because you don't see his side from the L'manberg war onwards, its easier for people to claim he's the villain (I am really fasinated by Dream's character and how Wilbur and Dream have crafted him (Wilbur became the main writer as the DSMP became more scripted))

If you're gonna start going down this rabbit hole might I recomend "Dream SMP War: The Movie" by SMP Compalations? It has clips from the first disk war And the War for Independence in L'Manburg showing A lot of good information and reactions. Honestly I thought that was It for the SMP but BOY! WAS I WRONG! It IS 2 hours long, but I guess you could take it in bits of it? idk, but I always recomend it to people when they want to get into the dsmp

It’s always so fun to see people react to DSMP! It’s a fresh view and the excitement of watching it for the first time is so contagious! It’s really interesting to see how it’s progressed as a story, because right now it’s easy to see Dream as a strict admin just doing his job, but as characters start to get outlined and defined overtime as the server takes on a more self aware role playing story, he starts to lean into a more evil character and Tommy starts to lean into a more good character. I’m hyped to see the rest of this reaction series, it gets so much more dramatic!!!

I remember when the disc conflict was going on and all I could think at that time was "All this... for discs..." 🤣 Never mess with Tommy and his discs! I never imagined DreamSMP would get so big and crazy that it would have as much influence even outside the Minecraft community as it currently does. It's just so much fun to watch the chaos!
