All of the other parts are currently uploading, two of them are over an hour, so the shortest one finished first. The first part says it should be done in just over an hour. Sorry I can't get these out faster, it's hotel wifi but at least it's good hotel wifi.
@@Roderica_Gig_Clips my brother said there show a clip of a little history of all the discography of the band, it was very insteresting to see it. Thanks for the videos!
My daughter made a bracelet for JP and gave it to him during the meet and greet last night… he promised her to wear it and he did just that for the duration of the show! You Petrucci are a true gentleman
Huge thanks for filming and posting!!! VERY good picture and audio for a concert so my hat's off for you!!! It's magic to have Portnoy back in DT! Just a shame the pirate's voice left the stage years ago... This was a new low sadly, but we're all getting older and such is life. Yet again thanks for the excellent video and its quality!
James Labrie: pallll me undaaaaa palllla mee undaaaaa Im naaaaa afraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 😂 ataaaa naaachhhadissteee no turning backk aneee cha seee it aint it baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Lets keep in mind this was the last song on the setlist after 3 hours, so everyone would be pretty shattered given it's the first show of the tour, I'm just happy to see them playing with Mike again.
He got better the second half. Clearly just not quite gig fit yet. He did a great job for the second set and encores seemed to find his form and smashed it tonight. It was awesome with MP back in the seat.
He probably doesn’t want them to do that. He sounded strong to me later. He still has the voice but it’s a tough job with that back catalogue to do every night. All good for me overall they are much better with MP.
Thnx for all JAMES LABRIE!!! you are a warrior until the end!!!! but the time has come... im broken as i type these words. you are the voice that touched our hearts and that will never change! I LOVE YOU JAMES!!!
They will need to go thru a certain amount of group therapy before they are able to hire another singer, so hard it was to “replace” Dominici back in the day. Next on the agenda : DT’s “Some kind of Monster” some kind of experience. I bet it’s the own bands Shadow that does not allow them all to face reality. They are so used to Laurie’s failure they don’t even hear it, for as much as it may be a paradox for musicians. I guess they will never had the cold blood they had in the way they treated Mangini. One thing is for sure, as long as g as they are able to make records with Laurie, he stays in. It’s regrettable they will never take a chance to try another singer and see what it gives. My personal pov : DT is over after the departure of Kevin..
The evil they do to Labrie is to let him sing like that. It's as simple as making him change his technique and everything is fixed because he has the range, but with that placement it's impossible to sound good.
@@emanuelalexanderrinconsilv6286 DT is a band of excellence, technically speaking. JLB was always far, in level, from his mates. He's a bad singer. Nowadays, he's singing worst than every amateur you can listen in a cheap pub
Gentlemen, to prevent this tour from being a debacle, hire a guest singer. It’s not a shame, accept that James can no longer handle the high vocal lines. The best solution for the public and for you Guys, especially for you James! See you on November 24 in Amsterdam, hopefully with an extra singer.
James is completely broken. Let's not shy away from this fact any longer and let's accept reality. He simply no longer has the physical mechanics that singing these songs demands. Let's consider the instrument equivalent and suppose that JR or JP started suffering from arthritis, and this caused very sloppy playing, particularly with the faster runs. Would we just accept that? No, we wouldn't. If they were suffering from physical limitations that made playing faster sections/songs difficult, they wouldn't embarrass themselves. They'd retire gracefully or at the very least they'd play within their means. It's no different with James, he's embarrassing himself and the band by trying to sing extremely demanding songs/sections in their original key. He sounds acceptable on Vacant, and on parts of songs that allow singing in the lower registers, but as soon as he starts going higher (or playing faster as per the arthritis example) it falls apart and he sounds like a drunk grandmother singing DT at karaoke.
"Would we just accept that?" what are you? their boss? im really glad they keep playing and having fun, james is old, even without the food poisoning by this age he shouldnt be able to sing the way he does, and yet he still pulls this off. I will keep on following their music live and in studio, and you are welcome to do so :D
Plz sing these songs yourself every night of the tour. You’re toast in less than two weeks and if you would surprisingly make it past that mark, the band would kick you out because you’re a bad human being.
@@peevee605 Why must I "do a better job" in order to qualify for giving criticism? I've seen this response over and over, where the user says to me "Let's see your singing career" or "Let's see you do better" etc and it's completely irrelevant and is missing the point entirely. I'm not attacking James personally, how could I?! I don't know him on a personal level and therefore it couldn't possibly be a personal thing; it's merely a fair and honest criticism of the product he delivers and of his vocal abilities as they stand in 2024, nothing more, nothing less. Do you watch the footage from last night's show and genuinely think James sounds good?
I hope you enjoyed the video. The other three parts of the show will be uploading over the coming hours. Hopefully the videos have all come out at a good quality and DT fans worldwide enjoy seeing all of the footage from this historic gig.
@@Roderica_Gig_Clips thank you once again! This was a historical evening! So sharing these videos will be forever appreciated by those of us who couldn't make it to O2...
Thank you for the videos man!!. I looking forward to see them here in Argentina on 19th Dec. Thanks to you I can taste a little bit of this great world tour!! :D
You're very welcome! I'm looking forward to watching it all back soon myself. I can only imagine how good the Argentina show will be, especially with how enthusiastic the crowds are there.
@@Roderica_Gig_Clips Yeah, we're ready to jump and scream hahah. by the way... do u remember if they played the new song called "night terror"?, I love that one and It will be great it the play it on tour

Como é bom ver esta formação juntos novamente. Valeu amigo pela a postagem!
I can't believe they would embark on such a tour with James in this kind of shape. I could never sit through this whole set list and listen to that all night It's distracting when your trying to get into the songs and he's constsntly reminding you he just doesn't have it anymore. Did they not realize this in rehearsal leadiing up to the tour? or did they just say fuck it our fans will love it anyway and we'll make a ton of $? DT is a $ cash cow now so I'm sure the latter.
This is the million dollar question. I'm sure the guys feel a huge loyalty to JLB after 32 years now of his being at the helm. I'd say keep recording in the studio (where he sounds goods still), and stop touring -- but we all know this is where DT makes their living. God I never thought I'd be at the point of actually endorsing a replacement singer. This is bad. And I have loved JLB (still do), and have backed him 1000% since 1992 !!!
James sounds great here, definetly passed his prime and a couple bum notes, but compared to the beggining of the 3 hour show he sounds way better, I worry about his voice giving out during a gruelling tour, but this gave me lots of hope.
Have to imagine part of the agreement for Portnoy's return was to let James be the front man. Mike didn't say a word the whole night which is uncharacteristic of him.
Exactly! Eversince MP got back in the band, I kept reminding myself to curb my enthusiasm, because LaBrie would ruin it all, live. But I was surprised to see him performing well above the average of the last decade. If they would ditch Metropolis pt.1 and one or two other really difficult songs from the early days, he could make a honorable impression. Let’s see how the tour unfolds. The worst part of it all is this huge magnifying glass he’s put under at every show, with everybody and their mother being able to record the gig and put it on RU-vid for public scrutiny. I mean, c’mon, give the guy a rest, he’s human, after all.
People. Labrie's problem is the technique he uses to sing just by pushing. If he starts using the technique of singing at the level of speech, everything is solved. It's something easy to fix.
It's not as easy as you think. Here it's healthier compared to do What he did in the 90s. He just preserving whatever he has left in his voice. Although yeah sometimes the vowels are weird, they don't need to be that Wide always
James sounds fine imo! I think people criticize just for the sake of it! No one criticized Geddy Lee in later years; so give James a break for gods sake!!!
This is the 3rd song I've seen now from the night and each one its painfully obvious James just doesnt have it . He's out fo breath, out of key just a total mess he's ruining the songs..very hard to listen to and sad for the first night of this legendary tour kickoff
I think the same. He's literally destroying every song. James is really selfish, he should consider leaving the band. His bandmates perhaps feel bad telling him to do it, but he must accept he's not hitting the level of the other members.
Basically James’ voice is shot. All the posts on RU-vid of their show in England show just that. Can’t reach the high notes, short of breath etc. They should do for James what Rush did for Geddy… either change the key or lower the octave. Other than that, maybe the search should begin for a new vocalist?
No insult to Labrie, but I hope halfway through this tour he does the right thing and bows out. Find someone to cover for him. Any reasonably talented singer could do better than this right now. What about Gabriela Gunčíková, Tommy Karevik, HARDY, or maybe the most impossible thing ever but DIMASH. Shutup I know it wouldn't happen but just get someone who can SING please!!!!!!
Can't see how people can about James's voice here. Ofcourse it isn't perfect, but when you compare this to Metropolis for instance, this is very decent. At least better then when I saw them last year. Good for James!
LaBrie sang this song better, but the sound engineer FOH has the voice to loud. at least 3dbs louder than the band, that doesn't help james because if he wasn't on top of everything it would mask his notes better with the music
Compared to Metropolis part 1 where he was struggling on the whole thing, he actually pretty much nailed that "watch the sparrows falling" for the standards of his modern voice. After that it got worse again, but I'll give him credit for that line and the few other high notes he did alright with :P
Let's see when they start America tour or in the middle of Europe tour. Would he still be able to sing like this one or get worse. You can see their schedule is so tight and only rest a few hours when the show end not a few days. Which is for the vocalist that is very stressful and it can make the quality of vocals decrease.
They are so used to Labrie’s failure they don’t even hear it, for as much as it may be a paradox for musicians. And it also comes as a big contradiction to a band that holds a reputation of being very demanding on a PROFESSIONAL level. I mean, it’s really shameful, he is not even a good entertainer (David Lee Roth had a good understanding of the problem). I guess they will never had the cold blood they had in the way they treated Mangini. It will have to come from him, but I guess he is not financially ready to step out. This is what you get when you impose a Family like structure to your business organization. One thing is for sure, as long as g as they are able to make records with Labrie, he stays in. It’s regrettable they will never take a chance to try another singer and see what it gives. My personal pov : DT is over after the departure of Kevin, anyways….
Oh that keyboard player, whats his name again? Hey dude! You do not need to be flashy all the time, alright? Instead respect the song and play Kevin’s parts as it were recorded! Is it too much to ask?
I'm really sorry to join the choir (no pun intended), but LaBrie just can't do these songs anymore. He struggles almost every line... I think he should gracefully retire at least from doing the old songs. Be a man and admit that you can't do what you did when you were young anymore. Just sing the newer songs and have a guest vocalist do older songs with you.
I was there, instrumentally WORLD CLASS just a shame JLB can't sing the songs like he should, low range and slower songs still great but then murdered it like here with the out of tune screeching, not great. Besides that it was an EPIC 3 hrs!!!!
I think James' voice has went downhill, maybe it has something to do with covid? Could just be age, and mileage. He did sound better here, than on recent tours, but still NOTHING compared to 08-09 James, would blow you out of the arena with his volume and power!
Hmm band is good as always but Labrie sadly do sound terrible, worse than at least I have ever heard. Maybe he can come back in shape, but this was painful. Let's hope for him to recover his vocal abilities, but maybe the band has to transpose parts of the songs to fit him. Well, I don't know what's going on anyway.
So cringe. What band turns their back on the drummer (Mangini) that supports their livelihoods to REGRESS to a drummer that can’t play any of the music the fans invested in for over 10 years? The right move is replace James LaBrie (he’s terrible) and oh I don’t know… get a drummer like Donati or Lang or Rudinger that can play ALLLLL of the DT material AND create unlimited music for decades to come. Do the fans reallllly want to hear (hands) RLRL (feet) RL X 4 over and over and over and over alllllll night long in these shows? So gross to do to the true fan. Charity gig for James and Mike hands down.
