See 18:53 where the oh-ah-oh-playback (while the mic isn't anywhere near his mouth) turns off and James' vocals kick in? It's obvious. But I still love them musically and technically.
Uma Sinfonia que toda vez que eu escuto, cai vários ciscos nos meus olhos. Portnoy faz muita falta ...😥 Sem desmerecer o trabalho magnífico do Mangini ...
Que privilégio, man...
Para mim os destaques foram, Endless Sacrifice, The Ministry of Lost Souls e obviamente The Count of Tuscany. Gostei também da Bridges in the Sky mas parece que o Petrucci deram uma "atravessada" no meio da música, não sou músico mas foi a impressão que tive. De qualquer forma mais um concerto para não esquecer 🤘
And I thought that we were a boring crowd here in Sofia... At least everybody was up, singing, hands up too during this song... But for the rest of the show it was just like here (where you can see people falling asleep) :D
Well, they were just starting the tour, it's not easy after a pandemic and losing the rhythm. However, it will have its ups and downs and will not always be able to put on a good show, on tour vocalists have to limit themselves.
As much as I don't want to sound like a hater: they added more backing vocals (from the studio version) and more effects (reverb and delay). He has more and more effects from tour to tour.
Personally I think it was not that good but I think it's because of the hall's acoustic characteristics more than dream theater's mix. Because the opening band was sounding almost same. Highs and lows were so dominant that there were almost no mid. In a way it was brutal. I have seen many loud bands and big concert halls but this was probably the worst. Then again DT should not play at this kind of places.
@@andyfox8377 Ah I was there! Actually wore earplugs for the first time. Strange, but a revelation! Every instrument crisp and clear, but no ringing in the ears after!
@@jeffpyzocha5474 I was in the row in front of the mixing desk for some of the Wembley Arena show, and it was painfully loud. Earplugs definitely needed!
@@algorix8420 Because thats what bands do when they are on tour? lol they play the same setlist every concert and sometimes mixed up a little bit, but still the same songs
Music is amazing but the live vocals just don't match the level of the music, it's sad because James will be a cool dude no doubt about it, but the last time I saw them live his vocals weren't nice to listen to and were nothing like on the record.
Yeah, I noticed this in London. At 13:49 Jordan also uses the 'Echoes' sound. I tried to hide my tears but it was too beautiful and failed pathetically.
Stunning, absolutely stunning, wonderful piece of music, but LaBrie sucks - his voice is really damaged - he is belting from the very start, he misses almost all notes. I understand, he´s not 20 anymore, but it is getting annoying .
You see one concert and you don't have to go to another one. It's exactly the same. Both the main program and the add-on. It's well prepared, the performances are perfect, but it lacks atmosphere, closer contact with the audience, and the ability to do it a little differently. Just the picture you look at and it's the same every time. It is perfect but inanimate. Sorry. Devin Townsend was much better - not just a musical robot, but a great person playing excellent music.
Thanks, thought I was the only one. Big DT fan, but the performance of James LaBrie was at best poor. Went to concert in Amsterdam and the first four lines in count of tuscany totaly faded away. No power in his voice and a deaf person in charge of the soundsystem. Musicly the concert was perfect, never missing a note, but they are all performing like Myung (read: not). Townsend on the other hand was funny, entertaining and had a strong set of songs, very mixed and surprising. Townsend the new singer of DT?????????
Great footage, thank you! Great musicians, great performance, but the singing is almost scandalous compared to the original, and the older periods, + it's for my ears. Without Portnoy even the dynamics are gone. That's all. The dream is over for me. I'm very sad.
