I grew up in Santa Cruz and now I live in Hood River and so I'll go ahead and acknowledge that both of those towns are special spots as far as the water goes. But there's always something to do in the water, whether there are waves or not, whether there is wind or not. I know we all like wave riding but that's not the only thing to do in the ocean or the river. You can just go swimming. You can jump on a SUP just to paddle around and watch the wildlife. Its our not-windy season, and I've been learning dock starts on the foil. We've got snow capped mountains in the background, and the other day as I was dock starting (or trying, and failing, and trying again) a bald eagle landed in a tree and just sat and watched the water. The waves don't need to be perfect to enjoy the world around. Take those good surf days as a bonus but learn to appreciate every day in some way. Even on gloomy, gray, rainy days, there's always something. Those can be great days for rainbows.
What Stokes me is the fact that my mother taught me how to surf at 5 years old. And being born in Sunset Cliffs Ocean Beach San Diego California. And her Stoke carried on through to my daughters. Ride what makes you happy. However, the more you are open to new ways of riding and where you ride, then there is rarely a down day. Surf, SUP Foil, Wing, Longboard, Boogie, etc. Great job with this one Clay.
Hi, thanks for asking. I've had a lot on my plate this year. Also the surf has been stormy and funky this winter, rare to see a film day. I have devoted my attention to putting all I have learned into a Tools course now on my website. How's life for you?

Pretty Cool!! My dream is everywhere I surf. I find the local church's orphanages and help fund feed and raise up all the Millions children without parents or Loved ones.
