Dreamcast on PS Vita with Flycast - C2-12828-1 error code tips in 2022

My thoughts on getting Flycast up and running on PS Vita for Dreamcast emulation this Fall of 2022.
I also discuss some tips as to how I got past the “C2-12828-1” error code making sure that I properly replaced the kubridge file with the newer version 0.2 found online. Also the libshacccg.suprx file needs proper location and then finally I was able to install and run the newest version of Flycast version 1.0.2 even with Autoplugin2 and several plugins going.

How do i install the dreamcast games onto my vita?

You have to acquire the rom files and then you just need them in a folder on your vita, in Flycast you’re just pointing the app to the games folder if that makes sense.

third strike runs at 60 fps using fba lite on the vita...so yea, you can do the daigo parry on the vita lol

Hahah you’re right! I forgot who it was but I’ve seen someone even with an arcade stick with brooks into a PSTV for 3rd strike years ago.

Having trouble. I followed the recommendations but when I run mvc2 after a couple matches I either get the message or the emulator restarts for some reason Edit: so I sorta found a solution. Letting the game load in between rounds (not skipping anything) seems to have fixed it

Sorry to hear you're having issues. I hate to say it but usually with any Vita troubles like this it is best to just start over and try the steps over again. Try this: cimmerian.gitbook.io/vita-troubleshooting-guide/shader-compiler/extract-libshacccg.suprx

What are the bios, what do you mean

Bios are essential files you need to get the emulator to run. If you google you should find more information.

It's my RetroArch that isn't working anymore unsure if i Opened a file but I didn't execute anything next time I opened retro it gave me that error

You might have to start over, not sure to be honest; retroarch isis really tricky to setup right

I got rid of the error code now my dc games dont show up after setting the folder

If the games are not showing up means you probably have the wrong file type, one version is like the disc version and the other is recognized by emulators. Also I think the files need to be unzipped. You might also have a bad file, but if the error code is gone and you can launch into flycast then it is certainly something wrong about your game files

I'm on 3.70 do you have to have enoso or be on 3.65?

As of right now you have to be on 3.60 or 3.65 enso to run the correct kernel fixes. If you use the vita deploy method to downgrade it is very quick and easy. Look up the retro gaming corps vid.

usually you'll find the US and Japan bio together. just depends on what you find.

Do you for sure have the latest kurbridge and flycast? Did you install the plugins via autoplugin 2 or manually? I have heard others saying it is possible to have too many plugins installed, so maybe that is it? Also when you say it still doesn't work are you getting the error code still, or something else is not working?

@@jennyholiday88 I finally fix it!!! Is a matter of the order of installation. Mostly of the sharkfood and ps mobile plug-in. Try reinstalling both first, restart the system and finally installing the flycast. I’d say try to start over and follow step by step; I know it’s a pain but you might have missed something

For some reason just turning off my system fixed the problem not sure why it's weird but it works now ^_^

Done everything like you said crashes still got all updated files crashing still, I have gta sa on my ps vita that works perfectly well.

What firmware are you on? And are you actually getting the error code or what?

@@jacklancaster6927 that’s the issue - you have to be on 3.65 or 3.60 Henkaku enso only. I recommend resetting and just using the vita deploy method.

also, I suggest running the PAL versions of the games you have...they run much better than NTSC versions

How come? Is it because pal games are 50hz instead of 60hz?

@@thatrandomdude4143 yea...if a game is running at 50 fps on the NTSC, it will look slow but on the PAL version it will look full speed so it's like you get an extra 10 fps on the PAL versions
