DREAMCATCHER are the dark girls of kpop. They are the ones that are considered the queens of dark concepts, not mentioning that they are basically the biggest most popular rock/metal/hard electronic girlband in kpop and probably top 10 biggest rock/metal GIRL bands of today.
Dreamcatcher ODD EYE meaning: The MV is about how the media (represented by the TV, phone, & computer) is showing us fake comfort (represented by a mask chair). It tells us how a new world of hope but is an altered reality of despair. Media shows us a lot of good things in life that makes us believe that there is a Utopia and this gives us hope. Even when we open our eyes, we see it as something good. According to the lyrics, it is a sorrow covered by light. It is a perfect illusion covering reality. They sing about using our Odd Eye, a secretly hidden eye that sees beyond illusion. Because with how sophisticated this world is right now, anything can be deceiving. A smile can be a plausible lie overshadowed by sweetness. Even hope itself may may lead us to despair in the end. We see Yoohyeon drink the cup of what she thought was wine but was actually poision. We see Gahyeon reach into the computer but ended up in flames. They give us fake hope but get hurt in the end when faced with the brutal reality of this cruel world. We are literally hurting ourselves like how Handong has her neck in her own hands. Let go of the remote (Siyeon) and stop looking for this fake Utopia (Jiu running away from the tree). In the last chorus it tells us to close our eyes. So that we can't be fooled by the world's fake light. So that at least we choose to be in darkness than to chase something that doesn't exist. Jiu has her eyes blindfolded with a bouquet in her hands for us to realize this. A Utopia is not something we must search for but is something we must make ourselves. ________________________ The song is explaining that DC (Dreamcatcher) can’t find a utopia because it doesn’t exist anymore and how the odd eye(reality) helps them realize this. DC were lying to themselves with false hope in the boca Mv. They had hopes of stopping people from saying negative things but it’s not possible. Most of the lyrics are just repeating the same concept. They tricked themselves with hope/light/lies/sweetness/ideal dreams but after a while they realize that this fate can’t be changed. They are forced into reality and there is no more utopia
Dreamcatcher is so unique. I grew up listening to pop rock and kpop, so it was an automatic magnet for me. They need to release a damn album than a mini album because I’m dreading right now. Never knew I’d be into a group so much especially going through bands like Big Bang, Girls generation, and so on. Heaven, I started from SES, Shinhwa, and Baby Vox. Dreamcatcher just hits different.

Thanks so much! Ya'll need to see "Because" next and can you also check out Siyeon's solo song, "Paradise." The music video is beautiful with such haunting vocals and she looks gorgeous in it too as always. It's a masterpiece and it gives me chills everytime...
The main rapper is Dami ( DAH- mi). The girls in the mvs are the alter-egos of the seven members. When they aren't working, they're some of the goofiest goofballs in the entire music industry, and Insomnias love them even more for that.
Symbolism Class: Odd Eye is full of metaphors how the internet is not a utopia to hide away from the real world. Lyrics "everything is a plausible lie wrapped in sweetness" and "no matter how you chase a mirage it's not there" start to make sense. Visually, reality keeps melting out of their phone and computer screens, they're each marked by their experiences online, etc. Now that you know what to look for go watch it another 4 times and find more! It is a trilogy with Scream and Boca by theme of Dystopia, not a story with a plot. Scream is about bullying and the bullied person breaking and becoming one ("I just wanna make you scream"), Boca about hate comments are always bad so they will help you shut your boca.
The rapper is Dami (dah-me), the second rapper in Boca and Scream was Gahyeon, and if you watch BEcause next: the low-pitch rap during that bridge is their main dancer SuA. Blonde bob and blue space buns are their main vocalists. It's because Minx went unnoticed doing the standard formula that Dreamcatcher purposely does what no one else in kpop ever has and created their own genre. Though in 2021 LOTS of girl groups started doing the dark/scary/occult concept with harder sounding music and more powerful choreo following in the lane Dreamcatcher paved. Up Next: BEcause is their most recent title track, Deja Vu is their most requested m/v and both will be a thrill ride. They look badass and untouchable in m/v's but irl they are the weirdest goofballs I've seen (except maybe Mamamoo). Their "Sahara" m/v is another raging rock song that shows a different side of them.
This is the first time you guys are seeing their 7th member, Handong(blue hair). She was stuck in China for some time because of Covid and filming a survival show. This trilogy is actually some of their least rock/metal influenced songs. Their older tracks and Japanese releases are a lot harder. The Japanese songs being the hardest as they’re heavily metal based. You can check out their Nightmare series, which starts with their debut, Chase Me. If you want to check out the Japanese tracks; Endless Night, No More, and Don’t Light My Fire are good songs to start with. Since you guys are venturing down the darker side of kpop, you should check out Pixy. They’re a girl group with a horror/dark fantasy concept. They have an ongoing storyline that plays out through animated shorts and their MVs. Check out Wings, Let Me Know, and Addicted.
Nani Brothers, you got to check out Dreamcatcher's Deja Vu Next. Get ready for one of the most beautiful Kpop Pre-Chorus Eveeeeer 😂 That Song is Literally Epic
Ayyy! Glad you enjoyed the song and trilogy! 😁🎊 If you liked the drop in this song, "Deja Vu" might actually make your head explode. Also, S-W-O-R-D! Odd Eye in particular is difficult to dissect the first viewing because of how much shit is happening on the screen. Picking everything out and figuring out how it all works alongside the lyrics takes a a good amount of views. It did for me, at least. If you didn't notice, be sure to peep the "eye" dance formation at the beginning of the song. It's sick. The deep voiced rapper is Dami. She is incredibly talented at what she does. As you mentioned in Boca, she does do a lot of melodic rapping in Dreamcatcher title tracks. She branches out in their B-side tracks. Gotta appreciate Dami's vocals too at 7:53. I know some of these lyrics and moods were sad and/or depressing, but that's because the topic they were addressing is serious and real. Idols deal with a lot of harassment and bullying from all sources. It can get so bad that people can't handle it anymore. I believe there were some particularly painful losses in 2019 that were probably a driving force behind some of the messages in this trilogy. It's just crazy to me though that a K-pop group would take on such a heavy topic FOR THREE TITLE TRACKS even though the subject can be incredibly difficult to discuss out loud. You gotta respect them for that, if nothing else. If you feel bad about liking Boca more, don't. It's a popular opinion. Just compare the views of all three and you'll see. 😂 Also, since you brought up EDM, they actually have a nice handful of EDM songs in the B-side tracks. Some of them are certified fucking bangers. Thanks for the reactions and the Dreamcatcher love! InSomnia and myself greatly appreciate it! You guys are going to LOVE "Deja Vu"!
If your into anime opening songs you should check out their older songs (nightmare series) it really gives off a anime opening vibes Order of the nightmare series: -chase me (debut song) -good night -fly high -you and i -what -piri (end of the nightmare series) And also their song deja vu which is a collaboration of an anime called "king's raid". And also one of their japanese song eclipse is the song opening of king's raid season 2
Seeing as you guys like anime, it's not surprised you like Dreamcatcher!! Check out "Dejavu" MV. This song was literally the opening of an anime game, "King's Raid".
The grungy rock sound used by Dreamcatcher is called Nu Metal or Young Metal. In the Dystopia Trilogy they combine it with Hip Hip, EDM, even Moombathon to create their unique sound. They are their own genre. And the songs of Dystopia aren't even their hardest sounds. Some songs in the Nightmare Series and all their Japanese songs are really hard J-Rock and Anisong.
Okay, so If you enjoy rock stuff, you should definitely react to ENDLESS NIGHT and DEJA VU by Dreamcatcher. The first one is heavier, while the 2nd is more epic with higher and better vocals. They both are great songs, high quality and story behind is amazing, but I won't tell you about it, you have to check it out to find out. :)
Love these girls since you guys react Dreamcatcher♡ Pls check MAMAMOO out next . This group has also another taste! You will definitely love it , for sure !!!
This 1 next -> Dreamcatcher(드림캐쳐) 'Odd Eye' Dance Video (Dystopia ver.) for that MAXIMUM POWER ODD EYE EFFECT (choreo) and before y'all drop on their next last most recent title track BEcause. Thank you both so much for giving Dreamcatcher a chance, let's keep 'em hits comin' aights.

Oh, I can't until you guys start their nightmare series 🙂. Personally I think their older stuff incorporated more rock, and they've been incorporating more EDM into their newer stuff, although I don't mind, it still slaps. Maybe next you can check out BEcause since it's their latest release, and it has some sick guitar instrumentals. Also, the music video is pretty cool as well, apparently it was inspired by the horror movie 'US'.
It's impossible to not love these girls :) they're not talented they're the talent itself!!! But u have to___ I'm gonna say it again___ HAVE TO check out deja Vu & BEcause. These 2 have different storylines.
I feel like they're the feminine version of EXO, the vocal line is crazy and all the members can sing, dance, rap and all of them are visuel also they They have a special concept i made the right think when I Stan bothe of them

Also, sense you guys have mentioned that they sound kind of like anime music. You should definitely listen to Deja Vu (the theme song for the Kings Raid phone game) and then Eclipse (the OST for the kings raid anime)
Goes hard you say? Try their Japanese Releases or their first trilogy (Chase me, Good night, Fly high) as for the japanese (No more, Eclipse and Breaking Out)
Dreamcatcher is amazing. They have no bad songs and they're so catchy that you can listen on repeat. If you like them you should also check out PIXY and Purple Kiss. Both of those groups are fantastic as well :D
