Their live vocals were LOUD! I loved Siyeon’s gesture for “bet you’ll remember me” and Handong’s expression for “1,2,3,4 1,2,3”! And Gahyeon looks so pretty, she did so well. Hope she recovers fully soon 🩷
handong is just killing it this comeback, like!!! 0:32, 1:05, 1:37, the iconique 1:45, and 3:03. 1:05 is just so cool to me because handong’s transitioning away from center here, but her expression definitely says otherwise. when i wasn’t looking at handong, i was looking at sua because she just looks so good in all black?? she looks like the main character of a futuristic rpg game. gorgeous but intimidating. but sorry to siyeon for looking at other women though 😭😭 siyeon took my focus in the other stages, especially the cat paw one, but not this one, only because handong was INSANE here 😔
Dreamcatcter could really release some amazing fashion merch or a design collaboration along with their stylist. The outfits are great and quite different without being unwearable or ridiculous.
And this song just keeps getting better every time I watch their performances or listen to it. People keep complaining about this, but conceptually it's definitely one of their best. I think with Dreamcatcher, people are too used to their songs clicking on the first listen, but they tend to not stick a lot (Vision was like this). But this is DC's first time really releasing a grower.
Well said. Both OOTD and Vision are not made to ‘get it’ the first listen. They’re both so multilayered in lyrics, messaging, and concept that once you get immersed, it becomes one of your favourites!
@@ljuancruz Exactly. Maybe some Somnies were not aware of that and ultimately made OOTD a polarizing topic. I found it to be very similar to something Nine Inch Nails would play.
@@ljuancruz Yep. I think what's thrown people this time is that instead of taking a more mainstream rock sound, this actually takes a lot of influence from punk. Even if you disregard DC's take on it (which is honestly the same as they've done before..: take a rock genre and an EDM or pop genre and fuse them), plenty of punk listeners don't like music from the rest of the rock umbrella and vice versa. It's not as melodic and the messaging is generally prioritized above any set top line, so I'm not surprised to see the same thing happening with OOTD. Releasing it after Bon Voyage, which is probably their most straightforward, anime-ish title track since You & I makes it even more jarring (even more so when you consider Reason was the release before Bon Voyage). If it followed something like Odd Eye, I think you'd have more people "get" it, but then it wouldn't have the same impact. Frankly, it's also really nice to see a group 7 years into their career still excited about the music they are releasing and still giving something new to both their fandom and casual listeners. Plenty of groups and the agencies that manage them just give in to coasting on annual comebacks with the same exact sound and song templates even earlier in their careers than DC while others make last ditch efforts to hit big by abandoning their core sound entirely. With DC, you always get a song that is clearly and identifiably DC, but good luck writing an algorithm that can predict what their next release will sound like.
This was a great promotion by Dreamcatcher. OOTD is a great song. It has great choreography. There's no denying some of the lyrics are problematic, but I try to ignore those parts and enjoy the rest of the song the best I can.
Primarily the F-bomb. There are a couple of other questionable parts, but that is the main one. I genuinely like the song overall, but it's hard to ignore mistakes that were made. I usually enjoy Dami's rap parts, so it's unfortunate that the writers of the song did her dirty.
@@KeithLund yeah well they're adults (??😭) the song is about narcissistim so ofc there are problematic lyrics, but being mad bc an adult cursed is kinda 🤓
