Jiu went off on Dear because it's her song! Dear is the first song that Jiu fully wrote and composed herself. It makes me tear up every time because they are her words directly to InSomnia. A year before this album came out she sang a bit of it during an interview, so she had been working on it for a long time. From this album on there's been one song written and produced by Jiu up until the latest one with Vision. Quite a few of the Dreamies have contributed to writing a producing on the albums. So happy DCC gives them the chance to add to the creative side of Dreamcatcher. ^_^
@@justpat2316 the best thing, although the song is for the fans, it can be used for us to the person we love. and that kind of thing already started since their debut song. can be horror, can be playful in a relationship, can be about their career.
Yes Dreamcatcher may use the "K-pop platform" to promote themselves, but they have evolved. No... transcended to an entirely different level. The most unique girl group that ever existed. They can conform to any concept, but nobody can replicate them. These seven women and their producers have actually created their own genre. You've just scratched the tip of the iceberg. Prepare to be blown away.
Dreamcatcher is that group with the most POWERFUL lyrics, they are part of the reason I keep pushing forward every day. Their albums are no skips whatsoever. They have an immaculate discography, they have the sweetest, kindest souls and they're real.
Break the wall is so epic and goofy . It’s epic when they sing live, it’s goofy because they made a selfmade mv for this song, and you can’t get out of your mind when you listen to this song. 😂😂😂
As Insomnia knows….every Dreamcatcher album is amazing. The songs in this album always hit right for me … never fails … no matter how many times I listen to it. Their live showcase performance of Break the Wall is a must see. The girls don’t do any dancing …they just stand by their microphones and sing with great emotion…it’s powerful. And also you will soon find out that they are top tier dancers and their choreo is awesome. Good luck trying to decide a bias with this group….or keeping a bias … every one of them has the ability to steal your heart and soul in any given moment….you will soon find that out as well .
Dear is Jiu's personal song, she wrote the lyrics and the message is for Insomnia. Why she said "when we go apart someday.." because she knows life happens, the young fans now will get older and things happen in life n they leave the fandom out of not having the time or resources, not because of hate or not lving anymore. So she wants them (us) to know, they will always cherish the fans.
Yeah their intros are like the classic overtures for a musical movie. In old Hollywood musicals when the credits were all at the front, the overture basically had instrumental elements from all the big songs ahead. Dreamcatcher’s intros are similar - setting you up and giving kind of a taste of what’s to come. Very cool. Some groups do this intermittently, Dreamcatcher has it frequently. It definitely adds to the epicness.
As someone who already go to several of Dreamcatcher concert, Believe me, you won't only find amazing performer, but also many amazing people with the same common interest tried to give everyone the best experience of their life also...
I so wish Handong was on this album, then I would give it practically a perfect score...her voice would fit so well omg imagine dongie on cant get you out of my mindddd
I can’t wait to see you react to their live stages and dance practices…you are in for a TREaT!!! Omg. Their dancing and choreo is amazing!!!! And their live vocals!!!! They are really THAT group.
I feel like we're all just counting down until he hits Jazz Bar, right? "Break the Wall" is SO good live. One of my favorite performances of it (I don't think you can react to it, but it's a great watch) is the *soundcheck* version of them prepping BtW for a concert. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BWILLYkLd7c.html And yes, no weak links :) They're just incredible. They can do any concept, anytime, anywhere, and usually live.
The way you reacted to Can't get you out of my mind tells me you will absolutely love Silent Night and In The Frozen. Personally I could listen to In The Frozen on repeat for hours
JUST WAIT until you get to their first full album (dystopia: the tree of language), it's a rollercoaster of emotions and genres. i know for a fact you'll love it. AND their second full album (apocalypse: save us) has a solo for each member, btw. when you get to that you'll lose your mind too, no doubt. love the reactions
That’s why ateez and dreamcatcher are my favorite groups. 90% of their lyrics are about life, society, growing pains, etc. Ateez almost never writes love songs which I’m thankful for and both groups have the same producers
Break the Wall is a 20/10. Don't forget to watch their self made MV's (it's the best part of B sides). They do them for each album. Break the Wall has a selfmade MV, Poison Love has one, Sahara has one, Red Sun technically does, Curse of the Spider has one but it's hard to find
@@justpat2316 The Special Clip self-mades for Sahara, Break the Wall and Poison Love are 100% must-watch. You'll fall even deeper in love with them if you do. When you get to them, Red Sun's video and Black or White's performance video are also must watch. All seven solo songs and Siyeon's earlier solo Paradise all have M/V's too.
Yes, you are saying Siyeon correctly! Their self made MVs are the frickin best 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Sahara, Poison Love, Red Sun, Break The Wall, just 👄👌! I am so happy you are on this DC journey and enjoying it! ♥️ Edit: IMO their Dystopia trilogy is their best work, they're my favorite albums! I can't wait for you to do the Tree of Language album, it's my favorite!
Every DC member is special, every one is bias. Jiu the best leader, Sua the best dancer and laugh maker, Siyeon the best vocal and high notes, Handong the best lines for so many songs (holding this pain, always with insomnia, …), Yoohyeon the best lead vocalist and clumsiness, Dami the best rapper forever, Gahyeon the best maknae and real boss! You cannot find a better combination of talents in other groups. Also, rock and roll with girl groups, best thing in the world!
A lesser known fact: Dami has 3 vocal ranges (she can sound like 3 different persons) and she has the 2nd widest range in the group, just under Sua. :> And none of them are the main vocals for practical reasons. (1) Siyeon and Yoohyeon's tones are best suited for the overall sound. (2) To allow the other members their own spots to shine.
U slowly become my one of my fav reactor right now lol. Your reaction is on point. And I dont care if u pausing a lot cuz u know how to pause and talk. And Im waiting for some 1hour+ video lol. Definitely will watch them 🤣 Btw, Lose Myself is such a package. It got Break the Wall which got Dreamcatcher signature rock sound, got CGYOFMM, dance music and I believe their only all english lyrics, and Dear my fav in this album. Cant wait for next Dreamcatcher reaction especially discography reaction. 🤟🏻
There's nothing i need to say, everyone else in the comments have said what's needed to be said about dreamcatcher, and you've heard their songs, their voices speak for itself, and it's just the tip of the dreamcatcher iceberg, also would suggest you do reactions vids to their special clips as they can be pretty funny, and alot of somnias love those reactions too
An emotional part for me in this album and the previous one, is that when you do the lyric videos you'll only have six portraits. Losing Handong for those two albums crushed my soul.
@@justpat2316 She went back to China for a while to participate in a girl group elimination show called Youth With You as she felt she needed to find herself and regain confidence. However, the pandemic hit shortly after and when she was eliminated she was unable to travel back to Korea because of restrictions, so she missed the comebacks for Scream and Boca. She made her triumphant return for Odd Eye.
@@justpat2316 For the start of Dreamcatcher Dongie was a sub vocal and she felt that she needed to improve to show more of her self. So she went back to China to participate in an Idol Competition show called Youth with You to challenge herself. (She actually did incredibly well in international voting but local voting was weighed much heavier so she didn't win but still was able to practice, train, and get some unique experience). However during this time Dreamcatcher continued to perform. Dongie was expected to return to the group for their Scream comeback but them COVID happened, closing the borders and getting into Korea with a Chinese passport became next to impossible for over a year. So she missed out on Scream, R.o.S.E. Blue, and Boca comebacks/albums. They actually had a place for her in the Scream choreography but used a masked dancer (I believe their choreographer Hwang Sooyeon filled in the spot). It was a pretty scary time for us Dongie biases because we didn't want to lose our beloved Ice Princess in the group. Silver lining is that when she came back, she brought 100X more stage presence and confidence than before. Something happened with her over on China because she's been on fire ever since she got back with the group. Also, it's a fan theory that the Poison Love special clip was a love letter to Dongie from the members to welcome her back
dreamcatcher \:D/ jiu wrote and composed dear, of course for/about insomnias. all dreamcatcher albums will have a ballad(-like) song for/about their fans. if you ever see them in concert, you would see how much they really appreciate their fans because it was them who gave them a second chance to 'catch' their 'dreams' of becoming singers. and yeah their concerts are hype as hell. they really know how to work the crowd and interact with fans more than any other concert I've been to. luckily almost every special clip prior to the boca album has english cc - only red sun doesn't but that's such a cool special clip it would be a sin to skip it. if you had a community poll I bet you nearly everyone would say react to the special clips even without subtitles. also just a warning, their lyrics pre-2020 are very very abstract to the point you would only understand within the context of their entire discography :D
Every album is amazing! They literally don’t miss. My favourite albums are Dystopia: Road to Utopia & Alone in The City. Can’t wait for you to get to those!
This mini album has one and only one thing missing from it: Handong isn't in it because she was still stuck in China at the time due to the pandemic (she made it back to Korea for the album after this one). Other than that, it's a certified masterpiece. Can't Get You Out of My Mind is THAT track on the album for me, and Siyeon and Yoohyeon's voices just send me into outer space.
Thank you for your reactions to Dreamcatcher. The girls are unique. All have great voices and virtually every song up to the last B-site is worth listening to. For me, Siyeon always stands out vocally, so 2 following recommendations: "Shadow (slow version)" and "Speechless". First song Siyeon with Dami and a solo (Cover) by Siyeon. Both songs are stunning.
I hope u listen to 'dystopia : the tree of language' next! when they sing break the wall live they use megaphones in the first part. it's so creative!! can't get u out of my mind is such a party/festival bop, the version w a live band is super cool as well!!
As I've said before Pat, Dreamcatcher lyrics bring kindness, hope, and encouragement when you didn't expect it... and it moved you in a way you never thought of before...
So now, you've managed to listen to the albums of the 2nd releases for both the Dystopia and Apocalypse trilogies. You're just working from the middle out.
Oooooh, can't wait for your reactions to Jazz Bar, Silent Night, In The Frozen, Black or White, Poison Love, Wind Blows, Intro, the other Intro, Maison.... Just everything, really. Especially since you like to focus so much on the lyrics, which is nice.
@@justpat2316 Yeah, Jazz Bar is one of THOSE B-Side songs that really shows off their versatility and eclecticism. In my case, it made me more open to listen and appreciate Jazz as a genre of music, which i haven't really done before. Then Jazz Bar appeared and I was like "woah! Jazz can actually sound like this? I want more..."
These girls are the best, their songs are all amazing, i remember when i discovered them, i literally forgot the other girl groups😁, what i really love about them are their personalities, enjoy your DC journey and more power to your channel🤘🤘
I heard of them the first time in November and fell in love with them. SuA is my ultimate. I saw them front row in Atlanta and 2 rows back in Denver. I left Atlanta craving more. Also did VVIP in Atlanta that included a high five and group photo They’ll have a comeback next month!
@@justpat2316 sure was! Even got a blown kiss from SuA and direct acknowledgment from her. I had a SuA t shirt that was custom made on and she noticed it. Sat infront of her during photo shoot. Funny thing..: JiU was the one that wrecked me that most that show lol
@@justpat2316 It really is!! I love watching people react to them cause it's always like I'm meeting them for the first time again! And I love your enthusiasm about their music cause honestly same
One day when you get to their first full length album - Dystopia: The Tree of Language ... good luck :D Some notes for that album: - Red Sun - has a special clip on the official channel, no captions unfortunately, but the clip is great, and choreo is by SuA - Black or White - has a special performance video (Move Rec) on Dingo Music channel - a must watch, has captions - Sahara - has a special clip on the official channel, with captions - Full Moon - has an official clip on the Happyface Entertainment channel, with captions - Over the Sky - has a special clip on the official channel, with captions - Siyeon's solo song 'Paradise' - has.... 4 versions of the special clip on the official channel, all with captions Alternate versions - Scream - there is a Dance Video (Studio Ver.) on their official channel with the red suits that just wrecks me everytime Stuff that prob isn't ok to react to but you can watch anyway in your own time - there's a casual acapella version of Scream - any version of Jazz Bar live... holy moly.. especially the acoustic version
Siyeon and Dami are a dangerous combination. They were the first two to stand out to me when I first heard them. You should see their cover of Ping Pong.
Thank You ❤️ I really appreciate that. I Plan on doing this for a long time. It brings me much joy. And dreamcatcher is just making me so much happier 😌
Thank you for the reaction 😊 and yeahh they have pretty sick intros 💯 you'll find the gems along the way Also break the wall live is so grand and epic like a war cry. And there is a funny special clip version of it too 😂
Hope you’ll keep doing album reactions too, after the performance reactions! The first installment of the Dystopia trilogy (Tree of Language) is a full length album. Apocalypse: Save Us is also full length and has solos from every member, with videos 🥰 you’re gonna love the performance videos!!!
Amazing reaction as always! Honestly and truthfully, I really love your reactions... I really do aware that everyone who first encounter Dreamcatcher would always be distracted a lot by the MV quality, the storyline, the concept, and some suss moments, but ironically they missed the songs! From the voices, the lyrics, the arrangements, the harmonies, and the whole productions packages... But you my friend, did not missed anything, except for their dances (cause there were not any dance visualized) And your review/thoughts were always on point and not exaggerated... I know one indicator to identified a person is into the song or not, that is a simple act after they pause and started again... Majority Dreamcatcher's songs are having a mood build up from start to end, and while a reactor have the oblige to give a thought at some point, and have to paused, the mood would also stopped... When you start again right from the paused point, the mood will break down and the feeling for the song may get jumbled.. So I am really glad that you mostly have the time to rewind at least 10 seconds to build the mood again... Keep up the good work, stay safe, keep healthy, and have great days
If you plan to buy a DC concert ticket in the future, get your money ready and don’t hesitate, just buy the most expensive seat and most expensive package. You won’t regret it. I really recommend Denver venue, the standing concert in general assembly is crazy, I think better experience than sitting conference where you can only stay at the area near your seat. Don’t miss Denver, it’s 200% going to be tiring but it’s 1000% worthy it.
There is a reason Siyeon was my initial bias before I went OT7..or OTDCC as I like to say (Also SuA is my ultimate K-Pop bias yes both can be true at the same time). Her voice and her stage presence man. Her fierceness when the camera in on her, how she takes herself back a little when the camera is on another member. In addition to her singing she is such an amazing performer.
I don't usually listen to Lose myself and tree of language albums much, I prefer their post 2020 live performances of these songs more because somehow the songs just feel complete with Handong's voice. About Break the Wall, Dami and Siyeon go crazy on that live, both go up an octave, Siyeon changes the high note at the end and goes on for way longer than the actual song so the back track falls away and the crowd is silent but she is still going. Can't get you out of my mind is one of their 2 fully english songs, the other being For by Yoohyeon in their save us album (this was for the fans too). Dear was a song Jiu had been working on since at least Deja Vu back in 2019. Siyeon used to be the frontwoman of a rock band before becoming an idol so she has the most experience with rock in general and it shows. She's the only actual rock vocalist in the k POP industry rn. Her and Dami have 2 osts together called shadow and its slow version. Some people have started calling them the Chester-Shinoda duo of kpop and honestly it fits.
Boca and Vision performance videos? Your towel will not survive! Can't get you out of my mind is so good you didn't realise it was their first all English song. The intros are designed to lead into their title tracks. If you have the time, try that out.
The very best version of Break the Wall, is their 7 spirits concert soundcheck. May be problematic for copyright reasons to do a reaction , but definitely well worth a view/listen. It has Handong, and they don't use the distortion effect. Yoohyeon, Dami and Siyeon are amazing.
my favorite album from them 😍 DC singing with piano is always a big problem 🌝 all of their ballads really sound like a OST. wait until you react to “a heart of sunflower” 😛
@@justpat2316 i was nervous too, and let me tell you, when i heard the title track....my wig was SNATCHED....siyeon literally killed me, and the dance break don't even get me started, i swear i was tearing up
The groups with the best messages, for me, have been Dreamcatcher, Mamamoo, BTS, (G)I-dle, TXT, Loona and Craxy With the best story-telling: BTS, Dreamcatcher, TXT, Loona, Billlie, Craxy, Ateez, Enhypen and Pixy
Yes. You are saying their names just fine. don't worry, you will get used to accent in no time, especially after so many reactions that going to happen next. No matter who is your bias is, Dami is in either in First or Second in favorites, No exceptions.
btw ur dreamcatcher playlist has a deleted video and an unrelated video while not having one of your main dc reactions in it! i thought id point that out since its easy to fix :)
