Not sure if anybody has said it but a little fun fact in Full Moon, in the beginning they grab each others hands in order of when they joined the company:) (from what I’ve heard😂) also yes, Full Moon is their 1st anniversary song that was for InSomnias. Over the sky and Reason are also anniversary/fan songs!
"Trust Me" is definitely my go to song when I'm having a crappy day... Especially on a rainy day... Dami telling me to rest awhile breaks me every time... ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ And no one does fan song like Dreamcatcher!!!
It’s ok to cry and let the tears flow ! Music is the greatest when it makes you feel something deep in your soul. So when Dreamcatcher says „It’s ok !”, I trust them. ☺️
Songs from other albums are great, but Dreamcatcher's first and second full albums are masterpieces. Especially, the second full album contains solo songs of the members
Some notes: * The earlier videos have lyrics but the later ones don’t always. This is because in ye old’n days, RU-vid allowed viewers to add their own CCs until people in other videos were putting blatantly wrong captions and YT disabled it as a feature site-wide. * For concerts, the Intro(or parts of it) are used as the ambient music played when everyone is finding their seats. “Welcome to Dream” is the music cue for the concert start. * Handong tends to have a soft voice, so the color of her voice tends to get washed out by the instrumental in the high energy songs, which is most of their TTs. She tends to shine more in their ballads.
They played wake up at their recent Europe tour and it was a PARTY, it definitely made this song go up in my bside ranking! The intros always tie the songs together really nicely, it's why I love listening to their full albums in order including the title track, it always feels like a full story
Never feel bad for crying in reaction to beautiful art. Just...maybe keep tissues on hand for all Dreamcatcher reactions from now on lol They will either make you laugh so hard you cry, or cry from the pure emotion in their songs. I love your reaction to Trust Me. Pretty sure the majority of the fandom has been there and has cried/teared up because of this song. And yes, when Handong comes in, that's usually when the tears start (at least for me). Look forward to you reacting to the rest of their discography!
Yay! I'm so glad you're starting the album reactions. Just imagine, your only interaction with Dreamcatcher before this came out was Minx and the first thing you hear is that Welcome to Dream Intro. My Toy's is still one of my favorite Intro's. It's so cinematic and really puts you in this mindset of someone chasing you or looking for you while you try to hide. For Lullaby, DCC just this morning released a new arrangement for it that they performed for this latest concert series. It's more of a rock ballad in the new arrangement and you can hear how their voices have matured since this was originally recorded. Most of the ballads are addressed to InSomnia. I look at Lullaby as a plea, like you said, asking for their fans to stay with them. I feel like this plays in with the uncertainty that surrounded them at this time. They'd just come off the disbandment of Minx, Chase Me and Good Night had done well but there wasn't an actual album release yet so they're pleading for the fans to stay with them. Sleep-Walking is really nostalgic and I 100% agree that it sounds like something from an arcade. That's how I've always described it to others, it always makes me feel like I'm at the arcade playing a racing game like Cruising USA. It's okay is still one of my favorite ballads. Just the message behind it and the emotion they deliver it with. My only complaint is that Handong gets almost no lines, but by God does she maximize the few she gets. The b-sides are where I really started to notice Dongie's voice and fall in love with it. Full Moon is their first fan song and it's fantastic. I've seen others say that the part where they grab hands and walk forward is a representation of the order in which they joined the company with Jiu being first and the rest of the members being added until Handong and Gahyeon are added last when DC gets formed. And that's the first year of Dreamcatcher music! Awesome intros, amazing rock title tracks, beautiful and emotional ballads, and growing genre diversity. It only gets better and more diverse from here!
There is a theory about Lullaby, they are singing the song to the ghost hunter so he keeps Falling asleep in the mirror, and that is the name of the album
I feel like there needs to be a HanDong special that covers her individual Chinese releases, her Korean covers, and her Chinese compilation of DC songs.
Yall crack me up. "I'm here for the interview" and * simultaneously whispers * "Dami..." 🤣🤣 I'm one of those people that likes to look up random trivia so... In Lullaby, Handong got an eye infection in her right eye which is why she's shot from her left side although she could've worn an eyepatch and still pulled it off. In Full Moon, when Jiu starts singing and they hold hands and form a V, that's the order they joined their company: Jiu first, then Dami and Siyeon, Yoohyeon and Sua, and finally Handong and Gahyeon. ♥ Listen to Dami's whisper part again and you'll hear her saying it with an English accent. She tends to say her English lines with an English accent (listen to Can't Get You Out of My Mind when you finally get there), as if you didn't already have enough to go crazy over her about. lol 😛
the opening formation where they grab hands and step forward in Full Moon is actually the order they came into Happy Face Entertainment per DC. they never promoted Full Moon cuz it was a fan song but they did one stage in a music show (u can find it in youtube).

In the Lullaby video, SuA actually is sitting on a stool, but it's very funny that you can't see the stool in the clip 😂 I remember from the behind the scenes video that there was in fact a stool though and she's not sitting on the air 😅

hehe a little tidbit about full moon is dami's part was originally supposed to be sung, but it was decided to be changed to a rap instead and imo it fits so much better in the song and is also so distinctly dami-esque
Important truths about Dreamcatcher: Their intros always slay, almost every album has at least one song that will make you cry, Dongie is an absolute menace in slow songs 🥲 Also, somehow I never noticed it until earlier this week, but look at the title slide for Sleep-Walking again 😅
Sleep Walking and Full Moon are a few of my favorites from DC. I love all their songs but those two are still unskippable tracks to this day. Great reaction keep it going!
The one concert goal I have regarding Dreamcatcher (besides people not usingtheir phones, but well, pop music crowds) at least since I saw the Primavera footage is still a moshpit during Wake Up.
I admire your methodical approach to this and will watch all the videos of this series. I'm not sure if it has been said, but maybe about 80% of Dreamcatcher's ballad and slower songs are about their love for their fans. Especially in the earlier eras. Emotion, for example, since they were just redebut with completely new sounds, they were hoping their minx fans would still be with them in their uncertain future.
I feel like even more than later releases, all the tracks on these first three really speak to the idea of being trapped in a nightmare and that often the lyrics can read as describing what the members have experienced and are experiencing/trying to do/hoping for as they work to (re)build a career, but also can be read as them speaking to their fans and potential fans, but also could be seen as talking about romantic or other intense relationships. Also: when Trust Me builds in full rock ballad but then quiets down a bit near the end and Handong's voice comes in gets me every time.
Super excited to watch you go through their albums and also appreciate you including the intros! It’s really going to be a ride~. I am totally with you on the feels with “Trust Me/It’s Okay” - personally a comfort song that I feel not many appreciate. (Along with lots of their slower songs). I like that you guys really take in the lyrics/message anyways the best you can. 😊

Another tidbit - this is where you meet the hidden 8th and 9th members of Dreamcatcher - LEEZ and Ollounder on their production team, they're composing and arranging the majortiy of DCs songs, and do the instrumentals and intros! Eventually you'll have your own separate tier list for the intros :D This was one of the many aspects that got me hooked on Dreamcatcher, discovering their music was like following my favorite rock band back in high school and seeing how their sound evolved over time, but still keeping their "signature sound".
Getting to see live Full Moon a few weeks after it came out was so good. Also at Dami's part in It's Okay,i could see Bri's eyes and was like ah,she's gonna cry (same)
For as much as I love Dreamcatcher and watch them everyday there are still songs that I haven't heard yet so it's fun to discover those with you guys! My new favorite is Sleep-walking 💃

The amount of Sua spotlight here is amazing. Her choruses in "Trust Me" especially. Too bad she got shafted quite a lot during the next couple of years (its obviously gotten better with the more recent albums tho, which is great)
