This may sound a little disturbing, but given Korea's history with so many deaths in such a small country, it is not surprising that there are hauntings everywhere.
It's like that in Japan. I only visited once, but I'd love to go back, since there are apparently some very creepy, vacant buildings and schools that you're not supposed to go into for safety reasons, so they always have patrols going through, but one time I heard a story from a local while we were out in this little village that he basically said that small neighboring school is often called a haunted spot because of it's history there. Very spooky stuff. I've also always had weird things happen to me and I've also seen things, like a few times I saw a shadow of someone or something off in the corner of one of my friends basements and he said "Yeah that's our resident ghost" I was like "Thanks for warning me now." I've told him I've had stuff I can't explain when I was younger that happened to me so I will not go down there alone.
Lol... it has more to do with Korean culture overflowing with superstitious beliefs making believing in ghosts a normal thing. Many people still believe in Shamans...
