However, as you posted this, Dreamcatcher had confirmed that this MV is a new start of their new story line and this story will have 3 arc, being Dystopia: Tree of Language is the first arc. So you might be right, it's a prequel, however not to Deja Vu, but instead for the following 2 comebacks. Cheers !

Based on how I understood the lyrics, it's about surviving the state of being alone; a blossoming flower in the midst of the cold. In the "Scream" music video, we all must've seen already the scene when Yoohyeon was alone on top of an icy floor. [7:42] I think we can connect that scene with, "In The Frozen." Since Dami (and Gahyeon) was present in the black & white scene of the "Scream" music video, I've assumed that the rap part was connected to 5th track of the album, which was also their extended promotion track, "Black or White." ***i'll update on this comment soon once i do more analysis***

I watched your analysis on Scream, but I didn't leave any comments. I had written it down somewhere, I just don't remember what it is lol The music video is amazing. I agree with everything you've said. It all makes sense. Thank you for doing an analysis of the "Scream" mv. The good dream is now a nightmare. The evil words affected them so much that it causes their good dreams to become nightmares. Edit: I found what I wrote in my notes about the "Scream" mv. It’s an interesting sounding song and the mv was visualizing amazing. That part with the sword reminded me of the ‘Deja Vu’ mv. Maybe a continuation to Deja Vu but could also be going in a different direction. I watched the live performances for this song. I’m still wondering who’s the one that wears a mask the whole time, never takes it off. Is she one of the dancers? (I just thought it was strange.) The music videos after the "Scream" mv reminds me of BTS. Facing fears, hate, and shadows. Sahara mv, part of it; they’re talking about the sea/oasis and the desert. Great video by "Dream Catcher", wonderful (I AM thankful) interpretation by "Bookish Theories". "i am" going through a very similar scenario in my life now & trying not to let the "dark" bring me down to it's level, "ruin" in all ways. Divine inspiration & signal graces during times of trials, synchronicity through elevated culture, not the ancient & continuous evils of the "world " repeated over & over. "Some things change & some things do not", history repeats, how lamentable, "for the ruin of souls".
Or is this what happened between fly high and chase me/goodnight. In both videos the girls are in all black meaning they have given in to the darkness. They escape the nightmare leading to you and I but then the spider comes back and takes over Yoohyeon. This would mean deja vu by in between you and I and what. They’re wearing similar styles and Jiu seems to recognize Yooyeon but can’t put a finger on it. The lucid dream era is memories of the past coming to the girls in these dreams. They chose to forget but the past is catching up to them. I think breaking out and piri is actually the beginning of the end but the girls have to make peace or at least deal with the past they chose to forget in order to get back to reality and leave the dream world altogether.

Focusing on a little breakdown and analysis of the lyrics, the music video, and how the story could be connected to "Déjà Vu". Scream is a powerful song that deals with importance of language and how hateful words can negatively affect you and the world that surrounds you. As it always happens with Dreamcatcher, the video tells us an epic story that reflects the transformation that is referenced in the lyrics. But before diving into the analysis, I think it's important to take a look at the spoiler video that they released about the storyline. Now in the video, we see that the story begins with a tree and two women on the opposite sides of the tree trunk. The tree here is the obvious the "Tree of Language" that is mentioned in the title of the album. It's the symbol of communication that exists as a balancing force of light and darkness. But as we see at the beginning of the music video "One day, suddenly the light did not come and the people forgot how to say good things" . This makes sense because the child that symbolizes the light here also the representation of the values that the light is usually associated with. If we take a look at the spoiler video, when the young girl is in power, she's surrounded by positive words such as "eternal good", "hope", "thank you" and "I love my dream" but as the darkness takes over, the child grows old and the words transform into negative ones. We see "loneliness", "death", "indifference", "devil", "revenge", but most importantly, the sentence "I love my dream" turns to "I can't get out".

Deja Vu is a collab with King's Raid and the story is based on the game. It has no connection with Nightmare or Dystopia (confirmed to have a trilogy) series. Nice theory for scream anyway.
yes its referring to society "forget everything you saw, pretend nothing has happened, like that one by one everyone goes crazy" it means how society can be easily manipulated and choose who to believe "this isn't entertaining, who is this for?" people bullying online for no reason "they blame the hypocrisy on me" its a parodoxical sentence on its own "the cold wind blows, i can feel the stares" the hate from the internet affects us in real life and make us paranoid "devil eyes come, i open my eyes" they open their eyes to see the real world i speculated these myself but the meaning is there either way
