Dreamcatcher; a group where the hierarchy is non-existent. Here is a compilation of the members using every chance to speak informally with one another~ 드림캐쳐가 위아래 없는 그룹이다 ㅋㅋㅋ 이 영상는 반말 말하는 드림캐쳐 모읍집입니다~ (Good luck to those getting their tickets for the US + Canada Tour, I will be here praying for an Asia Tour... 🕯) f you enjoyed this video and would like to support the channel, you may consider buying me a coffee! 🥰☕ ko-fi.com/insomnicsy twitter: @insomnicsy
They are coming through my backyard this time (Nashville) and at a venue that is well respected in the music industry in America and good capacity. I'm really hoping for a sell out! Side note: Babymetal is playing the arena in Nashville the week before and Eric Nam is coming though a couple of weeks later. Pumped that Asian artists are starting to come through the area!
Dami: is heard wrong Handong: does it unknowingly Gahyeon: does it because she can get away with it Yoohyeon: dances with death 😂 Also Siyeon: just SUA-YAAA!!!! 😂😂😂
Gahyeon has definitely made it easier for others to speak informally (especially Yoohyeon). Siyeon once said that after Gahyeon joined the group, they started to care less about hierarchy lol
Gahyeon can really get away with this, unnies may get angry but she's BOSS MAKNAE! kkkk just love their friendship huhu being open and able to communicate their likes and dislikes make their friendship last ❤
As someone whose native language has no politeness levels (anymore), this is very weird, but I understand that it is important in korean culture as well.
Exactly, in spanish we have politeness levels, but the other person have to be like 20+ years older, so it's a bit weird for me the ammount of importance when the age gap is so little... it's so cool to learn about other cultures jajaja
2:11 I love this scene. Jiu is entertained by her members while doing heart eyes, Siyeon is thoroughly entertained and totally losing it, Gahyeon and Sua are involved in chaotic stuff, Yoihyeon is trying to stay close to said chaotic stuff, all while Dami is at peace with herself and everything, probably thinking how normal a day this is😅🤣 3:08 I don't know why, but this always cracks me up😅 Sua's name: *spoken informally Siyeon: The best name to use for a game! I think part of the reason Jiu can't speak informally on demand on-camera, is because they are usually expected to speak fornally when on-camera. As the leader, Jiu has to be the most careful with these type of things, so it's like a habit to her
I love this so much ❤ It's so funny watching this as a white European because I talk informally to literal old grandmas and grandpas let alone someone who is few years older then me. Dreamcatcher is always so funny 🎉
I understand it's important but it's so different from my first language. We have some formal pronouns but still, in most cases, we use informal language.Even in the workplace and older people. It's not that we don't use it, but it's very rare. It is mostly used for authorities or people far above you.To be honest, most people don't even like it and correct it when people use it with them.
while i am from a country that has this kind of culture of respecting the elders, nowadays it is very less shown in the city, but if you get to the suburban or urban areas, it is extremely shown, but in my family, there is a common rule, after you are 8yo, you can't eat before the eldest present eat first - breakfast, lunch or dinner, it shows the hierarchy... and it stays strong... i once had a man who married my aunty and he came from Germany and stayed in my father's house for vacation, in the morning on the first vacation day, all of the family members waited for him for one hour before my aunty remembered the rules since it's been years since she came back and inform him to have breakfast so that everyone else can have breakfast including my father since he was 5 years older than him, he is confused at first but just accept it thinking it is a part of the culture, he was the one who introduce me to the book Demian too
This is the kind of video where you need to know how korean works so not as many people might not be able to enjoy it but I did. 😁 To those that don't know anything about Korean: formal speech is used while talking to someone who's older than you and also to those that higher position (work is a good example) - if you can hear them saying -yo (example isseo-yo) at the end fo their sentences, that is formal speech otherwise most of it is informal. It is also informal to call someone with -ya at the end (example Sua-ya) or just calling them with their first name (Kim Minji)
Was born where the language uses honorifics, ltr moved to the US and after yrs it's difficult to go back to honorifics 😅 but we don't have this between ppl w similar ages. 5yrs is nothing and when we're introduced to new people we give 2 kisses, or shake hands and drop honorifics from there.
Sua wants to keep it formal for work reasons, but I wonder if she’d let it go when they (unfortunately) have to disband. I don’t think she’ll let it go though. Poor Yoohyeon and Gahyeon won’t ever be able to have their dreams come true..😂
Leave it to Yoohyeon for being the spark & repeat offender of using ban-mal (informal language) against the unnies, hahaha! JK. This video is right on time for my birthday (last three digits of my username) as I was looking for more Dreamcatcher content. Thank you insomnicsy_인썸닉씨 for the funny video. XD Dreamcatcher fighting!!
I'm still amaze how can you manage to get a content from dreamcatcher when the group itself lack of content (no offense for them and all the fans). I always see other fandom content from any idol that still "active" on youtube, but all of them mostly just clip or cut from weverse or daily vlog etc. no one can beat your idea as a fan to create content like this for any idol IMO. its fun to watch some dedicated fans like this, thumbs up for you !
Lmaooooo I know its probably a low-key legit issue, but SuA's reactions and her overall rigidity in always enforcing polite language to her does make for some accidental entertainment haha. That being said, I 10,000% agree with SuA though! Ultimately, DC is still a company and they're still professionals. Keeping that line clear is her choice, and a respectable one.
Informal speaking.. if it’s not Yaja Time then it’s Gahyeon and Yoohyeon. Dami, Handong, Siyeon and SuA don’t really speak informal to unnie (s) unless they are allowed for what’re reason. Handong’s informal is when she is being a Savage.
@@Brickerbrack Jiu is older by a few months so Jiu is technically SuA’s unnie. Just like Yoohyeon is technically Dami’s Unnie since she is a few months older. Being in the same year they may get away with informal to eachother, but Jiu and Yoohyeon are still technically unnies to their younger yearmates.
@@Moon_Wolfiethat's not how it works though. In korean age (which is being scrapped) everyone turns their new age on Jan 1, so anyone born in the same year is the same age regardless of birth month, and thus aren't above or below each other
Still, while we're all laughing here, this is one of the very few points which make me sad. They should all (be allowed to) speak informally at all times. No matter the circumstances
There's one case here that kinda bugs me though; when Gahyeon writes her anonymous (and very sweet) "Thank You" message to Dami. Yes, technically she should've written it in formal. But if she had then it wouldn't have been anonymous, since she's the youngest. For something like that they should agree in advance that everyone either writes in formal or informal (unless there's a neutral form in Korean for cases like that?).
I’ll defend my queen Kim Bora for imposing hierarchy haha. It’s important to her but it makes for comedy (and I lowkey love that she lets Siyeon get away with it.. and probably Dongie too) 😂
It's fascinating for me just how similar my country's (Pakistan🇵🇰 ) culture similar to that of sk. There's a lot of focus here on respecting their age hierarchy and addressing elders the "proper" way. For example, we call older girls/women "Appa, Appi or behna" and older boys/men "Bhai or bhaiya".
I used to stan AOA and I currently stan fromis_9 (out of many), and they often speak informally or with nicknames. I like that best, but sometimes it's funny when nunas and hyungs get agitated or they do yaja-time lol
