The ability to plumb this into the wall water/waste etc is the next big battle ground for robot vacuums, so more detail on that would be nice. I dislike what looks like the proprietary detergent pack that you’d need to keep buying and would eventually be discontinued. It does make me laugh tho when the summation of the review is that despite all these features it doesn’t clean very well (on carpet at least) Great review, thank you!
Unfortunately I have no more info on that it's an optional extra that you plug in then to waste and clean water. As for the detergent pack you don't have to use it once it runs out. I you could even cut a hole in the top of it and fill it up (don't remove it) As for the cleaning, mops great but like all of these rubber only roller brushes they are not good at lifting up pet fur and long hairs. Thanks for watching!!
Looks great, my only concerns are the proprietary looking dust bag and detergent dispeners. Unless there are 3rd party options, do they just force us to buy theirs?
For privacy concerned users, can you configure the vacuum via the app, mapping, etc, uninstall the app, block access to internet for vacuum, and still use the vacuum? I think this ought to be better discussed in all review videos although I'm aware I'm in the minority.
Good review but only 70 ml of water capacity? How can it adequately mod a room? And it would seem that the dirty pads would then just spread it around.
Some people have puppies or old pets. Our dogs will age eventually so thinking about future needs. If it happens just once, it’s a shitshow to clean, both house and machine
Most pets will do it at home at least once or twice in their lifetime (more if they are old or puppies). Sure it may be super rare, but when it does happen you will return home and it could ruin the entire day as there will be poop all over the house and the robot.
I've got the L10S Ultra instead. For littler over half the price it does almost the same AND it has a lower profile, so it might fit under more furniture.
Thanks for the video! I like how it has a real-time view, so i can view my dogs when im away. I currently have roborock s8 ultra, but this one has better specifications. I be pre-ordering it now.
Yes the live video feed camera is great idea for pet owners. As long as you don't have many carpets this cleans great. Just irá not good at lifing hairs off carpet none of them are with this rubber style tangle free brush.
There is a aftermarket rubber/bristles brush for it, used one on my old L10s Ultra which now 100% fits my new L20 Ultra. Dreame is killing it btw. Excellent review as always. Thanks.
Those devices are getting more and more impressive, can't wait to upgrade, although our chuwi (forgot the model) is still going strong after ~6 years and 1 battery change. Do you think one could rely solely on a device like that for cleaning? Are we in the future yet?
Well this is as close as it gets to such a device. With this latest Ai avoidance ones and the better mopping and auto empty clean etc we barely need to manually go around and mop or vacuum. Once a month now just in the corners or edges where they don't made it. But now this mops even closer this L20 Ultra so only the stairs we have to manually do.
Looks the same yes, the only thing that might stop it is if the ends are different. I guess I'll have to risk it and see if it will work the L10 brush.
i mean it's expensive, but considering that a flagship smartphone with way less technology cost just as much, i'm quite sure their margin aren't really that high.
Great video! Thank you. I’m impressed with how it avoided the poop. Very important! I wish a white color was available in the US. Thanks again for the video!
Without a doubt this is the best yet for the avoidance, it was a pleasant surprise. I prefer white but the issue is many of the white models they turn a bit cream or yellow colour after a while. But the black shows the dust really bad.
do you think that the Nomebot A6 might be comparable to the Dream L20? looked at some of the short clips of them, but I can't find much information on it.
It will go through the clean water always about twice as much as the dirty. It's every few days the clean water about once a week or 10 days for us the dirty. Hope that helps!
got this for 3 weeks now. Now my home is at its cleanest it has ever been and consistently so. It's saving at lease 1 hour of cleaning per day for me. My time is at about $100 per hour, so it will just take a few weeks on return for investment, If this thing runs for a year like this, it will be the best money I've ever spend.
Well I've had people request this one as I've read many stories of people coming hope to a very unpleasant surprise of their robo vacuum spreading that everywhere 🙈
Although I think this is the best cleaner on the market I have not pulled the trigger on it. They are a new Chinese company and only made their first robot vacuum in 2022. There is no track record of customer support or length of parts spares support. I can’t spend £1100 on a vacuum without knowing that it is going to have a good life span.
Do you think this cleNs better than the irobot j9+ combo? Ive been using the irobot for a couple weeks now and still hits walls and furniture all the time trying to navigate around tables and chairs
Thanks for the review 😊 Is the robot washing Uwant U300 with a washing roller and cleaning the rollar at 60 degrees water, better? Even though it doesn't reach the corners like the Dreame?
I noticed in the comment section that you had stated the roller doesn’t pick up pet hair very well. Does this go for carpeted and non-carpeted surfaces?
Just got my L20 ultra and I had to do the straw method and several attempts with injecting water with a syringe into the water pipes as the base wasn’t filling with water. Everything seems to be working now but thought I’d post here to let people know they may have to do the same. Loving the robot though
Good review as always! I have now a roborock S6 that I use for my home with my 3 rabbits, so it is important for me that this could also vacuum hay too, as my s6 does... is this also the case? the dust bag seems to a bit small to store these things...
How does this vac compare with the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra in picking up dog hair on carpet? I have an Australian Shepherd that sheds a lot, and with my current S5vMax (whose brush does have bristles), it has been extremely frustrating to have to pause the vac after every room to empty the 350 ml dustbin! I've aeen other reviews that say the S8 Pro Ultra and S7 Max Ultra (not the V) have poor object avoidance.
Dreame robots have soft rubber rollers. Not the best for hair. But they are far less prone to jam or tangle. Dreame robots such as the L20 can detect the bin is full and return to the base station to empty their container. The Dreame robots are extremly hands off. Minus refills for the water etc. Dreame robots have better ejection of waste than Roborock. I've seen comparison videos where the dreame will deposit 99% of the dust they pick up. Where others leave 20-30% when returning to the base
There is so much to cover in one video, the auto clean, ai avoidance, mapping, cleaning app etc. Overall this has the best ai object avoidance tested to date and very good mopping. The weakness like all with this style of brush fine hairs on carpets it struggles to lift them.
Another awesome review. Thanks! I'm in the market but not sure about the lack of bristles. Does any rubber only brush robot work exceptionally with small fine hairs on carpet??
None, Not that I know of the rubber brush only style really struggles with fine hairs on carpet and mats across all brands I test. Some brands offer an optional bristle style brush not sure if Dreame does for this model or other brushes would fit.
@@Techtablets thank you for the advice, these are expensive is Australia, $2499 which is about $1800 USD. I did end up swapping it to a L20 so time will tell, I think they are both amazing.
Well for the mopping features and Ai avoidance yes. But if you have many carpets this is worse at lifting hairs with the rubber only style brush. Yes it's dangle free but that is the trade off. So if he has mostly hard floors, wood and tiles etc it's an upgrade.
I would prefer white but sometimes they turn cream or yellow in colour overtime from sunlight. But black shows the dirt and dust quicker. I would think white will eventfully be available it's new so not stock with white in some regions.
@@Techtablets Yes, good point about them going an off colour over time. I had a black without a doc years ago and I hated how it always showed up the dust. Lol. I'll just wait and hopefully they bring it out over here!
Yes showing the dust is a real pain lol. But I prefer it to a yellowed look, which is ugly. But then some plastics don't go yellow only time will tell with the Dreame.
Thanks. Is it finishing too quickly? How many mop cycles per one liquid bottles? Need to buy the vaccum cleaner due to wife’s asthma and we have two cats. As the summer is approaching their hair starts shading crazily. I hope this one works good with cat hair.
i wanna see it in a real action, not youtube / influencer action. A real durty house out on the countryside, where there lived to dogs greamshepperd and a border collie, there shedding hair a lot
I just wonder how Dreame handles spills. Mopping them away or avoiding them? How about cat puke? I have quite frequently puking cat, no carpets for this very reason and want to buy cleaning robot which solves that problem for me.
Great video! Two questions for you! 1. Will it empty itself during a clean of the entire house? I find my current one will get too full (lots of cats) amd it won't effectively clean one part of the house. 2. Do you have any small ridges that you potentially tested it going over? I've found that I've had to put masking tape on places where my tiles/wooden-floor meet because it's about a 2cm drop between thw two surfaces. Cheers!
Hi, No it's going to empty after the clean is done. To advoid that problem you could schedule or run it more often? I had it going over the stand of my two girls desks which is about 2cm and it did make a bit of nosie and take a while but eventfully goes over it. Hope that helps!
