You also know that many minorities have had immense success, even though their ancestors were slaves. Right at the moment, Honduras is now a terror capital. Hondurenos arriving here have horror stories to tell....have barely made it out alive. Yet they take whatever employment they can find. Often doing jobs we Americans find distasteful. And begin the green card documentation process...For just a chance to have it better, here. My ESL students were all being prepared for citizenship. They were French speaking West Africans. When I suggested to one of them, years ago that he might apply for temporary food stamps till things improved for him, he was appalled. "You think I came all this way to be on welfare?" , he shot back. His work ethic puts many born-here folks to shame. Fast forward twenty years - he is now a taxpayer and a citizen, and teaches French at a prestige upstate college.

You have lived here for your whole life, but it doesn’t mean anything. It’s your parents fault to cross border illegally and violate our laws. Can I raise the same voice to the UK or China? No. Follow the laws. Get on the line as everyone else, and come in the legal way. Come back with a visa and get a green card as everyone else.

@@1L2R we’ve all worked, we all pay taxes so what does that mean? Its the fact that opportunities; grants, funding, aide, housing, mental support etc are given to these non citizens. We all contribute to society in one way or another whether good or bad, but it’s the leg up illegals get, which can be life changing, not afforded to others that have contributed more to this society and are born here. Wouldnt you be frustrated if illegals moved to Mexico and got hand ups over Mexican citizens that are struggling? And before you say no, they are already reports out of Mexico that they dont like expats living there raising the cost of living.
I woke up today by a dream, i received my green card. I was so happy until i realized it was a dream. I wish people would understand us,we are Americans too. We go by the rules. Yes there is a bad apple in all communities but we mostly try to move forward as a first graduate from college,my parents own a business what else do we need?. We proven to be up staining citizens who follow the law,play by the rules and give back. Just allow us daca recepeints to get the same status as us born. Deport me but allow me to give my parents the opportunity they gave me.

Her accent is mostly American and it's not that strong... Many American-born Latinos do especially if their parents speak Spanish and/or if they're constantly around others who speak English this way. Why do you think the average black American speaks with a noticeably different accent and cadence than mainstream white Americans?
