Here’s an update on the beach situation and rock wall water break at Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya. They have made some changes to the wall to increase water flow and keep everyone happy!

Hi Don! Have you been since they renovated? I was pretty impressed with everything but I am sad that the private adult only pool is now Preferred Club and allows all ages. I usually book Preferred Club to have a higher room & access to the snackage in the 7th floor lounge but it was nice to have a quieter pool area.

@ChristineTurner no christine have not been there since the renovations my wife went back 16,18,19 we went to the now jade in 14 and went to dreams homeo in the Dominican in 22 we loved the adventuras now we upgraded when we went in18,19 to the preferred and worth every penny

Hi Sheila! They have removed part of the wall to increase water flow - it's an ongoing project as they make small changes and monitor how it impacts things but they are always looking to improve things, so that's great to see. Cheers!

Hi Angie!! The water moves much more now than when you were here but I do worry that breaking down the wall will mean they have big issues if a bunch of sargassum flows in. Seems to be sort of a lose/lose situation for them but no matter what - I do love it here!

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I think you’re right and I’ll try Canada Transfers. We’ve booked a Sunset Room and we’re really looking forward to our holiday. We keep watching your great videos so keep them coming! Lol Thanks again.

Hi Anne! You can order some beers for your ride to the resort too (or water or pop). I’ve stayed in sunset rooms a few times there and some have a partial view of the ocean and a great view of the town, so you really can’t go wrong there. Thanks for watching!

@@ChristineTurner We both really like the resort. Not my all time favorite but good. My wife really loves the place. The towel game is BAD at the pool with the swim up bar. We get chairs at the beach and there are plenty of them. I was disappointed that you can’t see the waves from your beach chair because there is like a dune in the way. You can see the ocean. We went to the art walk in town last night and that was fun. We leave on Wednesday

@@briannwo1900 I’m glad you are enjoying it. If you go to the grocery store be sure to pick up some lime flavoured peanuts. That is our #1 souvenir - we love them and everyone we’ve introduced them to loves them. Have you had the tacos at the adult pool yet? So good! I hope you enjoy the rest of your week there!

@@briannwo1900 oh wow that is really different. We didn’t go to the breakfast buffet yesterday when we were at Hyatt Ziva riviera cancun so I don’t know if they changed but I’m glad to hear it back to normal for you. Enjoy!

Hi Christine, we’re arriving in Cancun from the UK at the end of February and staying at the Dreams Aventura and It looks lovely. I’d like to ask you if you know anything about the Shared Shuttle used to transfer from the airport? I’m not sure if it is a good idea to use it or not. Any info would be great. Thank you

Hi Anne! I don’t know if your shuttle was included in your air & hotel package but I would be leary of any group transfers until Omicron subsides. It’s just so easily transmissible that I would personally only take a private shuttle. We used Canada Transfers for both of our trips last fall and I’ve used them over the years and they are both reliable and reasonably priced. If your shuttle is included, there may have been an associated cost that could be refunded. This isn’t always possible but do inquire. Also, if they can’t remove it from your package, out of courtesy for the other guests on the shuttle, be sure to tell them when you land that you are taking a different ride to the resort. Otherwise they’ll wait for you.

Hi there! Thank u for the videos. We will be staying there soon and I was wondering how clear is the beach water now with the wall being up?

Hi Laura! Everyone complained about the rock wall causing the water to be stagnant so they pulled part of it down. Then the Sargassum hit and it flooded the beach area (which the wall was designed to keep out). It's been a challenge for them but they're doing the best they can. May need to plan a bit more pool time though.

It really depends on the weather but I've heard reports of everything from "it's fine - we swam every day" to "it's horrible & stinks" so I think it's basically what you make of it.

Lol, well, we are changing our trip from Vegas to Mexico this year. Watching you again made me want to go sooner rather than later. Has there been any changes for going into Mexico since the new variant?

Hi Angie! It is so lovely down here! So relaxing and everything is so bright and sunny. No changes to enter. Canadian and American testing rules have changed so now Canadians test again upon arrival to Canada and Americans have to test within 24 hours of home. All worth it in my opinion. This is paradise!

@@ChristineTurner, exactly. When I told my husband I saw your video and we started talking the excitement to go back was instant. This will be our 4th time at the resort and cannot imagine going anywhere else. The 24 hr testing for the States is so stressful. That to me is not a vacation. I'm sure we will have more fun for his 60th (although a few months later) there!! We have no problems re-testing on arrival and being home for a day or 2.

So true!! Lol. Having a great time so far but I’m a bit concerned because we can smell the bbq at Latitude 20 all day long and it means I’m perpetually hungry!! #troubleinparadise #lifesstruggles 🤣

I think the rock wall ruined it I been there twice and the water was just fine before they kept it so clean.

Hi Destina! I don’t know - I’ve been there a few times when the seaweed was basically all across the bay and it was pretty gross. I think it’s great that they tried something but I think they may have to rethink this one.
