"How would this game survive copyright" Quite simple really, under the DMCA provision, Dreams falls under the definition of "Content Provider", of which is completely protected from forms of copyright infrigement as long as DMCA requests are honored within 48 hours of receipt. It's the same reason as to why RU-vid isn't being sent to court every day for copyright infrigement, and why they're quick to honor them. You lose your DMCA safe harbor if you fail to honor said DMCA takedown notice within 48 hours.
@Youngitailianmeatball My comment was not about ps4 vs pc, because of course you can get better looking things with something like unreal. I'm talking about the materials and assets that come with the engine, because you basically don't have do do anything to get things to look the way they do. (Like grass, fur, particle effects, fog, etc). Basically I find it cool how easy it is to make a good looking game without any talent or skill in dreams, it just looks that way right out of the box.

fun fact: dreams doesn't save the shapes and geometry from your levels, it saves every single input from the controller the author did since the start of making it and uses that data to "recreate" the level when players load it. It takes up less space that way

Jack's Septic Eye having his own game in Dreams where it's an adorable Kaiju monster destroying a city similar to that Ruckus game would be awesome. Better yet, Jack's Septic Eye Vs. Ruckus Kaiju fighting game in the style of those old Godzilla fighting games. Somebody make that in Dreams please.

Not really, fundamentally it's no different to someone making art of a video game character and posting it on Deviantart. Dreams would be acting as Deviantart here and the game makers would be the artists posting art for free.
@@Laff700 I'm no copyright law expert (and I don't know how Deviantart works), but afaik fanwork can still infrige copyrights even if you don't charge for it (it all depends whether it's considered fair use or not; look up "10 Big Myths about copyright explained"). One example that still irks me to this day is Pokémon Uranium: the developers weren't charging anything for it, but they still got multiple DMCA cease and desist notices from Nintendo (and so had to take it down).

Dreams is nothing short of absolutely amazing. It's an intuitive tool that makes making your own games, short films, or even just music an absolute breeze. There's so much love and time and effort put into this product that it's bursting from the seams. It's not even full price. It's just 40$ and when I bought it off the PlayStation Store I even got the soundtrack and concept art for free! I love Dreams so much. I'm stumbled upon so many passion projects that literally wouldn't have been made otherwise. Sometimes you just want to make something and not jump through a bazillion hoops to even THINK about getting started. Wanna make a game? Well you better learn how to 3D model, learn an entire programming language, figure out how to use a bunch of brand new programs. Dreams makes it so ridiculously easy to create landscapes and entire games and for a lot of people a suite of tools like this all in one package is invaluable. And on top of all of that, you can upload your own creations and browse others' in literal seconds; it's like the Netflix of indie games.
Somebody's gotta make an Ego game in that, dude. Write a story, then bring it to life. Use fan theories about the egos, like Marvin being captured by Anti or something. Just... go nuts. Amaze us.
