A Mesmerizing Evening of Spiritual Enlightenment: 'Dreams of Rumi' at TODA
Dubai, UAE - On Saturday, July 24, 2024, the Theatre of Digital Art (TODA) at Souq Madinat Jumeirah hosted a remarkable evening that transported attendees into the mystical world of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi. Titled "Dreams of Rumi," this event offered a profound spiritual journey through the life of the revered poet, Islamic scholar, and Sufi mystic, blending music, poetry, and traditional Sufi Whirling into a captivating experience.
The 90-minute program immersed the audience in Rumi's timeless wisdom, exploring the challenges he faced, his quest for inner peace, his search for a mentor, and his ultimate discovery of love. It was more than a performance-it was a deeply spiritual experience that left the audience in awe.
Leading the ensemble was Mr. Dervish, guiding the audience through Rumi's enchanting world. The lineup included the soulful vocals of Sayed Amirhossein Hassaninia, the rhythmic tabla beats of Sandeepan, the melodic harmonies of Ragul on the keyboard, and the evocative strings of Dahlia Mees on the viola. Together, they created a mesmerizing fusion of music and poetry that resonated deeply with attendees.
A standout feature of the evening was the mystical Sufi Whirling, performed with grace and reverence by the dervishes.
