I’ve been a musician for 30+ yrs I’m very impressed, glad to see the 80s influence coming back! Only the record companies wanted it dead not the people
The Van Halen brothers were musically....amazing. The were so damn gifted. They demanded greatness from their frontmen and got it. For my money, loved them all...Dave, Sammy and Gary. But I have always thought vocally, Sammy was the best!
Not sure how you can compare them. Ever hear Sammy sing a DLR VH song? Sammy would rarely sing them because he couldn’t match Dave’s vocal range. Not saying Dave is better, not saying Sammy is better, they don’t overlap in their styles so cant compare them.
@@gzo313 Actually, yes. I’ve seen Sammy perform a few of Dave’s songs live. He regularly sings Jump and Panama, and occasionally others. Conversely, Dave has NEVER sung ANY of Sammy’s songs, not even in the privacy of his own car!
You are the epitome of what music is all about. As a father of an ASD child, your vocal tone of his favourite song just puts him in a good place and he listens to it frequently when things get overwhelming. You passion for singing is felt through this video and he knows it. For this I cannot personally thank you enough. Keep it going strong.
Great cover! Sammy Hagar is so, so, so underrated. One of the best singers of the past few decades. I saw him live just this year and in his 70s he's still an amazing vocalist.
I seen him in the early 70s when he wasn’t in his 70s over 45 years ago when he was in his 30s, any way you do the math he has always been a legend in his own right. We are blessed.
Me too! Saw Sammy as warm up band at NYC Madison Square Garden in the 70's.....cant remember the band he warmed up for? But I knew then, that he was gonna be big!
I think it’s impossible for anyone to top Sammy Hagar. But this woman is the closest I’ve heard. Thank you for breathing new life into a defining song from my youth!
Wherever Eddie Van Halen is, I am certain that he is proud of you! The indie scenario gives fresh air to 80's classical ballads, and I have to thanks all creative musicians, like you guys, that make anyone wish to live in such a stunning decade, where the sky was endless.
From the very first time I heard this song in 1986 until now Dreams has been my favorite song. This is the best job of anyone I have heard with the vocals other than Sammy himself- and the rest aren't even close. So good it almost made me forget about the bad backing track.:)
The miracle happened, I don't know you ... I was listening to you singing wonderfully ... and when Eddie's solo came on, I did the same tapping gestures at the same time as you ! So weird!... Eddie's soul is with us ! Thanks for this video. You have a great voice.
This girl certainly sings a lot, I'm not an expert in vocal technique, but I've been listening to rock for almost 4 decades, and from what I saw at the beginning of the song she was in a very high tone for her, from the middle to the end when she lowered the tone it became more comfortable for her, so much so that she was able to show all her talent
That because most vocalists don't have the power Sammy Has. He can hit high notes while keeping the distortion in his voice. They don't like make singers like Matt Barlow, Tim Ripper Owens, Russell Allen & Jorn Lande anymore
I started listening to this song after actor Jason David Frank passed away. It was played as the end credits of the Power Rangers movie from 1995 then I searched up covers to listen and came across yours. Incredible vocals, well done!
Chez my queen , where were you and why I couldn't heard you in 2 years ... one of the best van Halen cover I have ever heard .. keep singing like this you will kiss the skies my dear ... your vocals making impact on real rock listeners ... thanks for this beautiful cover

This woman is by far the most beautifulest girl i ever seen her voice is awesome and amazing im shocked and surprised this has been my favorite song of all time ever since heard it from the movie mmpr i love it sammy hager will always be my favorite singer until the day i die
Dayum girl! I can't believe you got only 130 views... RU-vid must be broken or something :c . Anyway, I wish you good luck in your musical career, I totally enjoyed this and your other videos. will be waiting for more!
Damn this lady’s has beautiful vocals. And beautiful looks also! U can sing Van Halen all night long.Might found new vocalist for VH.Long live evh 10/6/2020!!!!
Me too Zac. I'd have to say this is my all-time favorite song. I've got a lot on the top list. But this would probably be #1 for me. Incredible what Ed and Sam came up with on this one. The music is unbelievable.
Can't deny Sammy is a better singer, and the band was able to expand musically with Sammy, but for the music they were doing at the time Dave was awesome. Can't deny that either.
Damn... I've watched this about 10 times now still trying to comprehend how awesome this is. Your voice is so incredible and powerful, looks like you did this with ease. When is your album coming out?
One need balls to cover this epic song ..youre the only female ive seen from youtube who sang it really really good. Not many dare to cover sammy era =V-/= especially the vocals.
Just heard this cover. Are you serious!!!!!! This is ridiculous mode! Im calling Sammy and tell him your gonna be the guest singer playing dreams! Hihihi. Outragously good. Tone, pitch, power and voice with distinct character. Congratz and ty for doing justice to this classic VH song.
Chez! WOW! I’m blown away by your cover of my all-time favorite VH song, DREAMS! Thank you for recording this!!! You’re cute as a button and your voice is so powerful! Please do more Van Hagar songs!!!!
I was just thinking the same thing! I’ve karaokeed for years and never heard anyone attempt this song. Would love to see the KJ and crowd reaction. I’d be standing on a damn table cheering, myself!
Not bad. You can definitely hear that she's at the top of her range and slipping into her head voice. Good thing things didn't get much higher. Nice job though
I can’t tell that at all. She’s just singing with style and paying homage to the original. It has to have something of that grit found in the male vocalist who WAS singing at the top of his range.
@@andrew5184 I'm not saying she didn't do a good job. Having worked live and in studio with some amazing female singers for the last 20 years I can hear when they don't have much more to give. Listen to Ann Wilson (of Gretchen Wilson for that matter) on Barracuda, you can hear that when they hit that F# they're not even trying. And that's 2 full steps above Sammy's high D. I think she did a good job and overall is a good singer. I'll bet if you gave her a song that was closer to range (which sounds like high Alto-low Sop - listen to her speaking voice) she would kick its ass.
@@IMChrisThom Sam hits a high E in this tune. You may be right about her range, but maybe not. As a vocalist myself, I can sing something in two different keys and add a certain “strain” to the lower key for effect. I may have plenty of notes beyond that, but if the piece calls for a certain intensity, that’s how you sing it. The fact that she didn’t sing it in a higher key than the original may support your claim, but I think she’s just trying to mimic Sammy’s intensity.
@@andrew5184 ok... honestly I'm really not sure why you are wanting to argue about this. Are you this woman's boyfriend? Do you just have an internet crush on her? I've complimented her several times already. Just calm down, it's gonna be ok. You're fighting an argument that doesn't exist.
@@IMChrisThom I said “You May be right...”. And offered comments and observations in support of both our positions. So why do you feel the need to take the conversation in this direction? You made a comment regarding your subjective opinion that I disagree with, and I replied with my subjective opinion. That probably qualifies as an argument that exists, but it need not be contentious.
Dear Chez, thank you for that version! Since nearly 35 years this is my favourite sing! It's the song of my life! You' re brilliant! It's an honor for me to hear you! Fantastic! Amazing!
