Honestly, I think a lot of the DreamWorks stuff is temporary, and that after Epic opens they'll go back and make another pass. Same with the ET sign. It NEEDED to be there, just like the kid zone area NEEDED to be updated to more relevant IP, but I seriously doubt either is going to be the complete long term state of the area. You can swap out signs and props later, once the Epic Panic is done.
I think Dreamworks looks very cute. The interaction with Po and the show were highlights and i'd be tempted to go in and watch them if I were looking for some time to relax in AC. If there isn't any seating in the land except for the show areas, then they definitely need to add that. One would think they could do that rather easily. And certainly the cardboard cutouts could also be replaced easily.... Since they're doing the Texas kids park, i'm sure they're doing more characters and such and those can be brought to FL too. This land needed an overhaul BAD with characters and experiences kids NOW would like.
Sure, Dreamworks land isn't as in-depth themed as other lands, but keeping in mind this is for the littles, I think it serves its purpose. The littles in my family don't even know who Woody Woodpecker, Fievel and Barney are. They want to see areas with characters they actually have an interest in, not ones they've never heard of. Of course, those characters and that land aren't for everyone, and they'll never please everyone with every land they build. But I think they went with the 80/20 rule, and put in what the majority would like to see. It's just unfortunate that you're part of the 20%. ☹
Dear Universal, please bring back The Ball Factory and replace “Po Live!” with a ball factory type of attraction, that means, put back and restore all the blasters, balls, and other machinery from the Curious George Goes To Town Ball Factory!
by the way, is the Ball Factory of Curious George Goes To Town staying and just rethemed to Kung Fu Panda? or is it getting demolished and a new attraction would take it up? I would like to know. PS: I refuse to look at any images of Dreamworks Land, nor watch any videos of it!
I don’t think the rant was about the content, but rather the implementation. I’m sure she agrees that something more relevant to the kids today needed to be there, but she neglected to point that out, defending the land, before criticizing it.
I agree Annie, it’s pretty basic as Universal goes and they wanted to open FAST! very lacking in past areas that were there, Trolls is depressing for such a bright and gorgeous movie.
I hope the tribute store facade looks better in person… in photos/videos it just kind of looks like plywood. It doesn’t really pop or catch your eye. 😢
If they didn't have the money set aside, they shouldn't have demolished Kidzone. How can a 3- 4 year old be bored with Fievel or Woody Wookpecker as "Been There done that' unless his momma showed their shows in the womb? I swear a read a comment from someone who suggested toddlers want fresh new IPs. ???? The whole freaking world is fresh and new when you're 3-4.
Wow Debbie downer. I will still bring my grandkids. This was such a negative review on Dreamworks land. I’ve seen so many others with positive reviews and this one🙄 Kids love it and that’s what matters.
the Po barn really has so little. Almost all children have access to a giant screen TV at someone's house. There's not a lot of variety. And Shrek has to be almost as old as Barney. Watch youtube clips from other Universal Parks around the world, the see the disappointing things UO gets stuck with.

I can’t believe I watched a grown woman rant about a children's land for 5 minutes. I also can’t believe people can’t admit that things like Kidzone needs upgrades, especially as time moves on. Maybe it nostalgia, but things become irrelevant. Most kids don’t know about Frisco or Barney or Woody Woodpecker, you know why? Because they were popular with kids in the 90s and not kids of today, so of course, Universal will try to make it modern but adding things kids recognize like DreamWorks characters like Shrek and Trolls, you're not the target demographic and that okay! Not everything is going and needs to be marketed towards you, I think DreamWorks land looks fine. I don't think it garbage. I think it is a fine upgrade to a land that desperately needed one, since that place was trapped in the 90s also, most of the effects in KidZone stopped working, so eventually Universal would have to go in and fix the effect, so I think they thought might as well make it more modern and give a more popular theme that kids will be drawn towards. Furthermore, I think you should be a little bit more worried about one of your co-workers being a fugitive because he did illegal working in Japan without a Visa for work and then blowing someone off when they were rightfully concerned with him confessing to his crime by telling people he didn't tell anyone he was working there instead of traveling there so he would be fine with him lying on his Visa tourist card because Visa states that you can’t do work if you have a tourist card.
Are we talking about Tom? Because how would his vlogs differ from all the other foreigners who vlog about their trip? Subscriber count? Yes WDWNT profits from it through watch time, but I question how it differs from every other foreigner who does it. Also, this may explain why WDWNT wasn’t invited to the Fantasy Springs media event. Not as a punishment, but rather, not a company registered to do business in Japan. TDR Explorer does vlogs and reviews, and profits not just from that, but through the selling of his guide books. DFB Guide does the same, but doesn’t work in or live in Japan. I am assuming they weren’t invited to the event either based on their recent video releases, even though they do have some Tokyo videos.

Regarding Tom’s Rant… …I mean, Annie’s… …have you seen the playgrounds these kids have nowadays? Go to any school with an updated playground from the 10s or 20s… …They’re all a bunch of platforms! Boring stupid platforms with maybe one or two slides. Go to a mall with an indoor playground, again, mostly just padded structures you sorta climb on. McDonalds and such, they’re a little bit more fun, but only because they try to cram all that into a much smaller area. Former KidZone was dated and felt so random. Most of the children nowadays probably have no clue who Fievel, Woody Woodpecker, or Barney even is. If they know of Curious George, it’s because of the book series, not the movie. Even my daughter didn’t know who he was. I forced her to watch An American Tail though. I hate to see it go, but it needed to. DreamWorks at least has more timeless IPs, and more current. Trolls 3 came out last year, and Kung Fu Panda 4 more recent. I do worry about Frisco, especially seeing the new concept art vs the old. It definitely felt cheaper. Perhaps though the budget for Epic and Kids is what effected the budget for this. They haven’t started on the hotel or park for Kids, but they have started on the driveways, parking, and staff buildings. Nothing vertical yet though. My friend @Texney has uploaded drone footage of it. Would be nice if they could ship all of Fievel’s Playland to Frisco.
She's not, in any way, saying she wanted KidZone with Fievel/Woody/Barney to stay because those characters were superior - she's saying the experience of the new DreamWorks land is a downgrade because it seemed hastily and cheaply put together. Everyone knows how irrelevant Fievel/Woody/Barney IPs are to kids in the target demo for a "play area". Universal obviously cut some corners in order to get this area out there to meet some sort of internal deadline, and it's at the expense of a quality product for the youngest audience. That's something they can do because the littlest of these kids aren't going to be complaining about the details, but the parents sure are going to notice. As for school, mall, or McDonalds play areas....none of those places are Theme Parks. With Theme Park budgets. If the DreamWorks Land resembles those places, there's a big problem, and it's not with schools, malls, or McDs...

It validates my own belief based on what I saw, not experienced, especially in the way she presents it, by pointing out how other guests reacted, and comparing it with previous. Tom however does mention how soft openings mean areas aren’t finished, or aren’t perfect, because they’re still testing things out, so I feel the Po attraction has glitches for this reason. Annie didn’t seem to remind viewers this fact during her rant, however. I do think kids will like it based on videos I’ve seen of it at Beijing.
@@JustJesseeThat’s my point, it DOES resemble modern playgrounds that aren’t theme parks. Shrek reminded me of the outdoor platform playgrounds while Poppie reminded me of the indoor playgrounds in malls. I have seen an elaborate Shrek playground that would’ve been better. Look at videos of DreamPlay in the Philippines.
Wow you couldn't be father off from the truth with the DreamWorks area. It is great and meant for younger kids. The food is good as well every other youtuber has stated this you all seem to have a serious hate on for Universal right now which is sad. Please get someone with better taste to do these reviews.
