If I had a nickel every time a promising-looking animated movie about shadows got canceled, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice
@@Saran_Draws “The shadow king” directed by Henry Selick, same guy who directed“ Coraline”. The CEO of Disney at the time only wanted to produce colorful movies that were easily marketed to young children, preferably sequels to movies that already did well and he thought “the shadow king” with it’s darker aesthetic was too much of a risk. I do feel bad for Henry Selick though, he went through such lengths to complete, going overseas to find people who fund the movie and everything.
@@ocarinagirlandthestories648Hey, at least he got the rights for the movie back, he said he would try to sell the movie to a studio I mean if Guillermo del Toro was able to finish Pinocchio after 14 years, Henry can do it
@@vicmanelguapo1678 Yeah, I’ve never completely given up on the movie being finished. What little material there is on the internet, images, storyboards, and even some moving footage looks like a cult classic which Henry Selick is kind of known for anyway
