I’ve noticed the lower cabin altitude helping with jet lag also. Flown a Dreamliner on a 14 hour ride from SYD-LAX and really noticed the difference compared to the 777.
Great vlog as always! I have only flown intra European with KL back in 2008. I have worked 11 yrs for SAS. There was a snow storm at AMS on the way home and the ground staff was tired of saying no we do not put you in a hotel for free so… I paied for a night at Hilton at the airport and I got my money back.
I live in Houston, and have flown the KLM 787 10 to AMS many times. Always friendly and attentive service. Food is generally fine but I usually stay away from the pre arrival meal when returning.
Beautiful, I would say KLM is up there with europes best, like Binter Scandinavian Lufthansa, Swiss, Aer Lingus and ryanair(no i am not joking and when you think about it it makes sense.)
Really depends on the type of flight and class of service but if I needed to pick one plane to fly on any given day it would be the A350. You just can't beat its feeling of spaciousness, comfort, power, refinement, smooth ride. The list goes on. On the other hand there is something very special about the A220 and it's gorgeous to look at - for short-haul I would always try to get on one if I can. On the Boeing side the 747 will always reign supreme but they are so rare these days. Actually although the Dreamliner is lovely and more modern I have a real soft spot for the 767. Perfect medium size, great if you're traveling in a pair (because of 2-3-2 configuration) and I've always had very nice flights on them. If I had to choose between A320NEO and 737MAX, the 320NEO wins, but if it's between A320CEO and 737NG, then I'll take the 737. Thanks for watching!
I remember flying this route from Amsterdam to Nairobi when KLM operated the 747-400 and had incredible flights on this route with this aircraft. I would try the KLM 787 on an Africa flight out of AMS, however since sentimentality the 747 was the first aircraft to take me down to Africa especially being KLM I will still realy miss that aircraft
For sure, I think any of us who have flown the 747 at some point in their lives will always miss that majestic bird even as fantastic new planes take its place.
@@Flightradar24DotCom I also live in Detroit, so I remember the days of DELTA/NORTHWEST airlines when they flew the 747 from the hub at DTW right up until the A350 took over, I wish Lufthansa or Korean Air would consider 747-8 operations at DTW though.
Ha, I was in your exact seat on that same flight around that same time. I enjoyed it though I thought that the service could have been better, but that's my complaint on any long-haul KLM flights. At least in business class, in Economy generally the crew is better I think. It has to do with the company policy at KLM, the more senior you are moves you up, from European fleet to long-haul and then in long-haul seniority moves you from economy to business. By the time they make it into business class the crew is in their late 40s. I have generally found them quite disinterested, mostly just hiding in the kitchen chatting to each other and hogging the business class bathroom. I am Dutch and I like KLM generally

The 787 Dreamliner isn't really a good airliner and with the restricted airspace because of the Russia Ukraine war, add in Belarus and Israel KLM are needing an airliner with better range the Airbus a350 gives them that with around 50 ordered but delivery dates are 2026.
On a cross-Europe business class flight with KLM you get served your meal within the first hour, after which the stewardesses disappear for the rest of the flight to gaily chit-chat amongst themselves, even as you sit around there, wondering if you or your money matter...
