We say that very same thing up here in NW Warshington state too when the poop hits the fan. We've had a nice mellow winter so far with nary a drop a snow here. It's 0400 here what we call O dark hundred sometimes...
Our local Case/New Holland dealership has a couple of those TC55s that they rent out. We get one and a bush hog whenever we need to police up the back part of my dad's property. Nice little machines for everything we've ever asked 'em to do. Just beat to hell because everyone who rents 'em wont ever take care of 'em. Won't be surprised if they get auctioned off for scrap in the next couple years, 'cause that's probably about all they'll be good for by then.
Good to see another video Dennis. Dang youtube notifications don't seem to be working for me for some reason just found your video. Got some bitter cold weather here right now, hope it don't make it your way.
@@DLHFarms I live in Iowa -3 with a -15 windchill here right now. Suppose to be very cold next week or two. Layoff will be over hopefully week after next.
That’s the nice thing about them Minute Mount Fishers. If you can get lined up good, they hook up easy. I’m in a wheelchair and I could hook up my 7.5’ straight blade in about five minutes. As long as you can get one pin in, hook up the plugs, lift it, drop it, and give the harness another push, and the second pin would always click in! Great videos! John
Get yourself the app RadarScope. It’s a great radar app that gives you raw radar data nothing doctored by the news. You get to see everything and I’m much better detail also. And it’s updated every 1-3 min so you get near real time data.
Another great video Dennis. Yal have a lot of very nice equipment, it amazes me how many different businesses you are involved in, construction, farming, wood business and DOT contractor. You and your Dad are examples of what this country was built on. Thanks again
-16 in Wisconsin. We just got 7 inches of fluffy snow. Cold is here for a Week, highs 6 and - 14 lows. Dakotas are getting it big time and now us. Frozen ground plows so nice.
I have one that my dad bought at a county auction over 50 years ago. That thing is awesome. I remember climbing all over it as a kid and now my boys do the same thing. You should do a video on it some day and talk about it next to a modern motor grader. Just a thought!
I have a 2005 Case DX55 and love it and we do tons of PTO work with it on grain augers and our truck drivers love it anytime they use it to load . The only Problem to date with it was fuel filter would plug up easy with poor fuel but we found a way to fix it and just plumbed in a inline filter to catch the junk and it runs great all the the time now . And funny thing is our Case Dealer told us to keep the Dx55 since the new korean tractors are junk
Really like that new hay barn. If I ever would build a shed, I think that steel is the way to go. Do you ever see them insulating sheds like that? Like if you would make half the building with heat for a shop.
Hell when I was a firefighter our dept was Masonry and the Bays (5 on one side 3 on the other) is a Morton Building that insulated and heated and it done good.
Ford tires Looking at your tires I see that you are not well equipped for winter conditions, you should get real winter tires since you use it to push snow get a better grip. I'm from Quebec Canada so snow is something we know about and at my work we have a F-550 crew cab with salter and blade and side wing riding on Michelin LTX winter. Its worth it save ending up in a ditch.
Pfft we got a massive 3 inches of snow during the huge earth swallowing blizzard we got last week lol... our weatherman ate alot of paint chips as a child i suppose 😂..glad to see someone is getting to play in the snow..
Good for you Dennis, all your hay is sold. Bet you wish you had more to sell. Coldest air of the winter moving in here, there saying low of -19 Friday wind shields down to -30 Time to throw a few more logs on the fire Stay safe and warm bud!👍
Good morning Dennis I have a question for you. Why run a V-box instead of a tailgate unit? Just asking because we are trying to decide what we want to go with next. We have two poly v-boxes one in a 550 stakebody and one that doesn’t really have a home yet. It kinda gets moved from truck to truck.
I've never used a tailgate unit but I would think it would be very inconvenient to have to raise the bed to get salt out, the bed is so slow on our truck.
They can be a pain in the rear, but if your doing just parking lots I hear they are ok. Ours is an electric over hydraulic dump and is also fairly slow. Plus it has barn doors on it instead of a tailgate. Anyway always enjoy the videos. Enjoy the snow up here in delaware we haven’t gotten much of that white stuff to make money with.
Looks like it's going to be a cold one, we cut grass today or should I say dead grass but we're still wet from the storm you're fixing to get. We're on a hay farm also and all rolls are sold also. Stay safe Dwayne
How much does hay make a bale in America?it's making 4euros a bale now in Ireland for grass hay.i know you have alfalfa, grass mix there which much make it more expensive.nice little new Holland.
FLORIDA?? Why go so far away!! Move to Nashville! We haven't seen snow in years, except on tv!! There is some rumors that we may see a flake or two, here this week! I can't be sure, but I can say that there is bread and milk on the shelves, so no real chance of more than a flake or two!
You have a lot a diesel engines. You should make a video about what, if any kind of winter additives you use in your equipment. Sorry if I missed any previous videos on the subject. A lot of guys on the tractor forums have been having cold weather gelling problems this year.
"A day in the life of a snow clearing contractor!" or part of a day is more accurate. Nice to have stainless steel equipment, when handling and working with salt and snow, isn't it?
A mild steel dump box would rot out in no time if you carried the salt in it. Also it would also mean messing about with tipping the body when spreading to get the salt to the spinners.
Well if it was 1pm you could say it's night time lol. In my next life time I'm going to be a weather person because they never get the weather right but yet they never lose there jobs
Suggestion: try the NOAA.gov website, they are the people the Weather Channel gets their information from, then they package and make it sound nice. The NOAA website also has all of the local, regional and nation radar live images and all of the satellite photos, there are many of them. It's interesting to me how the local weather people in my area screw with the NOAA forecasts, more often for me NOAA is right.
Somebody already put a thumbs down on this video!! Makes you wonder, don't it! I wonder what the problem was!! It must have been a relative of all that hay you been selling! They didn't like it the you are selling all their kinfolk as a commodity, and keeping the rest of the family in the barn, like cattle or something!! Oh well! We just need to realize that HAY ARE PEOPLE, TOO!! Lol
I went and looked in my cabinets. Sure enough, my salt is white!! I ain't sure what that stuff is that they been selling you, but salt is white!! That looked more like pepper!! If it was salt, you wouldn't have been able to find it, with all that snow on top of it!! You might want to taste it, to be sure!! Sprinkle a little bit on your egg and tomato sandwich, if it makes it taste better it's salt!! If it makes it taste worse, scrape it off, and go get some salt to put on it!!
What is that white stuff, laying all over the ground, and lightly settling in your hair and beard! You must live in Alaska, or Norway, or something!! Did you say "SNOW"? I've heard of this phenomenon! You must preserve some of this material, and bring some to Nashville, as a display of how things used to be, before global warming!! Lol
