I wish Nate was around. I’m sure they both would laugh at this shit and shake like men now that they have grown. RIP Nate Dogg and much respect to the Dresta both stand up dudes ✊🏾
@@troweskii lol now how that look you wack me with that thick ass 12-iron or whatever Nate had now when we see each later on in life I can't even hold a conversation because my brain skipping a beat.
@Supa Slime exactly... half of these OG guys are living off the ghost of old urban legends.. in truth, most of these guys were band and theatre nerds in high school... its all entertainment and its all an act...
what a stupid mentality... the only life you should be about is a life of education, success, and betterment.. not who can handle the next man... black people need to do better... one day..
Im from the Netherlands, white as snow and one of my favorite rap songs ever is D.P.G Killa. So strange to see Vlad not knowing anything about the track haha
@@killlaaaa1 im not sure but they brought it up in da first or second part i believe.. you can tell from their body language they trying to withhold info and not say too much
Vlad a real hiphop head but never heard of DP Killa and he lived in Cali. That played on Rap City and on the radio in DC and Vlad never heard of the song. some hip hop head he is
man vlad was doing so much back in the day it wasnt easy trying to keep up with 300 bands all at once and every single thing they do. as a fan you have more time to just focus on the bands you like and everything about them. running a company you have to try to keep up with the entire industry.
A lot of songs Vlad never heard or heard of, but still labels himself a true "hip hop dude" 😂. Anybody who has to Google or RU-vid music in the middle of interviews really needs to do their homework before they interview these artists so you'll know what kind of questions to ask instead of always using footage or bringing up conversations of past interviews with other artists as filler.
BET would play it on Rap City...ppl would order it on The Box too...& Yo! MTV Raps also played it a few times...not saying it was a smash hit but anyone who was a Hip Hop fan kinda knew about it
Picture Nate Dogg & Eazy E on a Track during that Era🤕 We missed out on more better music due to beefs back then than anything put out now. Nas on a song with Mack 10 & B legit😳 GangStar & Spice 1😮 #RIP2RealHipHopAndGangstaRap💔
SEE MAN VLAD GETS A LOt OF HATE BUT WHO ELSE CAN GET THESE TWO OG’s THAT NO ONE TALKS ABOUT ANYMORE ON THE INTERNET MUCH LOVE RIP EAZY E!!! GEM CONTENT
Did Vlad say he hasn't heard the song "DPG Killa" or was he referring to something else. I remember finding that song about 12 years ago. I'm from the UK and in my city if someone is in to Hip Hop, they know the real, real underground music. I had an acquaintance named Ricky who showed me DPG Killa. I'll never forget listening to that banger.
This was a really interesting piece to hear - from the infamous Nate Dogg golf club incident to some of the history of Bone. I think Bone's history wouldn't be enough for one 2 hour movie because there's still more stories they haven't even told. When U-Neek got on with them, that was a great matchup when you hear their Creepin On Ah Come Up EP. E 1999 Eternal is a masterpiece with some of the best picked samples for Bone - Chapter 9 and Isley Bros to name a few. Dresta and BG got hella history too. I'd like to see a movie from them as well.
If anyone remembers the name of thew original Bone album, when they was called just "Bone" on Ruthless let us all know. I remember having is years ago but I've never seen another copy of it since. edit: it was called Faces of Death
Really appreciate these interviews with the west coast legends @djvlad. You should get Da Lenchmob on here. And Knoccout and Dresta should do another album that would be dope.
Me being an OG I must say I've learned a lot from some of the youngstas out there in today's world. I feel where Dresta is coming from when he says Bone thugs taught him a lot even though he was the big bro Dresta still was humble enough to allow himself to meet the youngstas halfway. That's why me as an OG I fuck with everybody, Black,White,Brown,AsianYoung,Old,etc. You can still keep it gangsta and stay humble...
No longer am I involved in the vicious lifestyle of the street life but as a man from East Oakland I've did hard time in the penitentiary with certain individuals from Compton who affiliated with dresta and knoccout. Shot out to these men. They are true warriors of GOD.
Dj Vlad you disappointing me. Their debut album was called Real Brothers. I remember buying it from the record store and remember what the album, cd and clear cd case looked like. Hell I even can recite a lot of the DPGK song. Also Faces of Death was the first Bone Thugs album.
Someone is lying. About how bone thugs came to eazy e. Bone said they use to call eazy officer everyday and the lady got annoyed and say easy will call them back when he gets in the office. And eazy said I have a show in Cleveland and eazy came outside and saw bone backstage.
Of course that was before The case dresta talking about. Dresta is talking about him actually letting them in to see Eazy after hearing them at Eazy's concert in Cleveland. That's what caused Eazy to Sign them. At first E wasn't taking their phone calls seriously.
Ali Shabazz to add what you’ve said, when Dresta introduced Bone to Eazy backstage Eazy did say something along the lines of “oh, so y’all were the ones who keeps calling and rapping over the phone”. And the rest is history... Dresta is on a whole other level for doing what he did. Much respect to him.
@@donaldlawrance840 yes cuz bone thugs never mention dresta. They said eazy e himself came out and talk to them backstage and said you the niggas that rap to me on the phone.
@@TonyMontana-mv9ez no, bone thugs gave dresta props. thats why dresta is on flesh bones first album. and after bone rapped on the phone with eazy, e kinda forgot about them and dresta kept saying whats up with them dudes from cleveland you need to holler at them. and then the rest is basically what people above said the concert shit happened.
Remember when detective Vlad didn’t even know about that incident when he interviewed BG that one time, that mean he didn’t watch the beef series. part 1 and part 2 were crazy, obviously when it comes the beef game it gets out of hand but it’s still interesting how that documentary painted the picture from both sides.
Vlad you also didnt know "Its on" by Eazy, one of the hardest diss tracks ever. So the fact you didnt know DPG killa isnt saying that much either. Plenty of people that I know also know the song well.
This cat was talented! That’s around my era but I never followed them & being from Long Beach I was bias. I gotta keep it a Gee! They were more authentic than Daz & Kurupt.
Hasan Bin Hinton UknowhatImSayin?!! I know Daz personally & he never did all that shit he rhymed about. When I first heard Compton City Geez I knew they were the truth but I kept rolling with Daz and Kurupt. Lol.
Hasan Bin Hinton that’s what’s up my Brutha! Peace & many blessings! Your big Bro & yourself did that! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 I love yalls interviews. Keep that realism coming! I got family from out the Farms, Palmer, Jordon Downs & PJ’s. Despite all that Compton/LB drama back in the day I had no choice but mess w y’all. Peace ✌🏼
Joe Slatter I didn’t call Daz a Side-busta or a mark. All I’m saying is a majority of his rhymes were fabricated & he really didn’t push any “Crip” line in The City. So outta the 2 or 3 songs .... “What Would U Do?”, “Dre Day” & “Real MF Geez”... Dresta, Eazy & BG Knoc Out’s song was the realist! No question!! U gotta be from around here (Long Beach, Compton or Watts) to really understand
Bone first album was called Faces of Death and the label was called Bone Enterprises or some shit like that. Being from Detroit at 13yrs old in 94 I was already up on Bone before Thuggish Ruggish Bone came out
Philly Decay PHLDK When For the Love of Money came out for some reason their Faces of Death tape start circulating through the hoods in Detroit. I remember being in the 8th grade getting the tape running to my cousin's house playing it for my boys
