Drew’s 10 inch rough over smooth, sizing advice, and initial quality observations. These boots run LARGE AND WIDE, IMO. Every foot is different, but these boots are also just a tad bit different too. They are not like every other PNW boot size, they are a little wider (IMO), and because of THAT, you really should do some research (emails, phone calls, tracings). I’m glad I just didn’t go ahead and order my normal boot size with these - because they would have been WAY TOO BIG - as it is, even sizing down slightly is still a touch too big for me…I could have went 2 brannock sizes down or one whole shoe size down from what I normally wear (and I NEVER usually do something like that. Only Duradero boots have I done that. Hope this helps.

Couple of notes/clarifications from the video that I wasn’t clear on - These are wide boots, l have a wide foot, and even for me, these are a touch bit maybe too wide. I could have sized down 2 whole sizes from my brannock (13 to 11), and one whole size from my shoe/sneaker/boot regular size 12 to 11. I’m just glad that I didn’t just order my normal size 12 Wide. I did use their measurement system and sent in my information, and I actually sent these boots back for an exchange. But man these are HIGH QUALITY built boots!

Great vid! I was super nervous on online sizing as Thursday boots I wear was pretty bad. My Red Wing was great due to the store, their computer sizing and folks. I should have done the tracing, but went down 1.5 from my sneaker size of 9. So I ordered a 7.5. I later sent my Red Wing Iron Ranger size of 8 which is perfect and they said to stick to 7.5. Upon arrival, they didn’t feel like a firm “handshake” in the toe box. Everything else was great. I wrote them and they suggested a small thin sole insert as the last is different from and iron Ranger and the insert would help. It did, but I was surprised how much difference 1/16 of an inch can make, almost too tight, so I took it out and realized they truly are a bit wide in the toe box. Be sure to trace you foot, reach out to them, etc. I LOVE these. Hands down the best quality boot, most rugged and I love the arch support.

Yeah it took me a couple times to get the right fit, luckily I had used their online size tracing and sent in my measurements. That first pair was just too roomy on me, but the second pair is really fitting me right. I will say I am having a very hard time breaking these in and getting used to them - I still haven’t gone a full work day in these things yet - I can only make it 4-5 hours and off they come. They are absolutely killing my toe joints by then, just a burning sensation in the toe joints. Hopefully this goes away soon. I haven’t oiled them yet. I don’t really want to, but I might have to, to soften up the leather. I’ll give it a few more weeks before I decide. Good luck with yours! They are high quality boots and the quality control is excellent.

I recently got a pair of these smooth / rough out brown 8" combo Drew's Loggers. I normally wear 11 1/2 in Alico and Keen Boots. Took several tries, but the initial recommendation from Drews was 9 1/2 D. They fit perfectly. I'm a week into breaking in, and it's going well. Have gone on several 3 mile walks on pavement, and no blisters or excessively sore feet. I'm impressed with the workmanship, and am contemplating ordering another pair of all smooth.

Similar experience for me. Love the quality! I’m slowly trying to break these in, it’s going to take me some time

Great points and example on sizing. Wish I would have seen this earlier.

I have a pair of 8" Drew's loggers, a bit heavy for my taste. Honestly, I prefer Truman boots, Red wings and my Grant Stones for everyday wear. But I do like these boots for winter and when I need something extra sturdy for my feet if I am doing some demolition work or the like. When I wear these boots, I feel like Superman. The tall heel is also something I wasn't used to, but it is kinda nice but they are not as comfortable as my other boots that I have mentioned. As for fit, I like the wide space, perfect for when I am wearing thick socks and for wiggling my toes. My Red Size is 9D and I have the Drew's in 8.5 D (which was a perfect fit). They are nice looking boots and I am glad I finally got a pacific northwest style boot last year.

Oh thats too funny, I just commented on your Fultons video, click your account, and see you just got the Drews loggers well, it looks about the same time I did. Whats funny too is your experience sounds pretty similar as well. Im 12m in red wing work boots. I sent in drawings and they said to go 11m, I did also mention I dont like it to be too tight. I could probably go 10.5m for a good snug fit, but the 11m is nice. Yeah toe box has a ton of of room though, but if you dont have heel slip at least for me thats the main thing. I find the arch to feel strange at first, then I quickly start to like it even as my feet are sore as hell breaking them it. Went all smooth with the 8in upper and Im just in love with these boots.

I reached out to them yesterday, waiting a call back. I think these might be just a tad bit too big for me unfortunately. If they won’t take them back, I’ll just keep them and wear two pairs of socks. I haven’t worn them outside yet, it’s only been about a week and a half, so who knows? But definitely excellent quality control on these boots, these things are put together really well. If they take them back I’ll simply switch for an 11 size and probably be happy with them for the next two years. Not sure how long I’ll get out of a pair of these but I usually will get ten months out of a quality boot if I’m not rotating them with another pair. I kill boots, I just use them too much/too hard. I feel silly doing unboxing videos…I really can’t wait to show off some worn out work boots, that’s the good stuff in my opinion! I’m killing those Fultons! I do like them.

They are definitely interesting on their sizing. I wear 10EE in Iron Rangers. I get pinkie rub something fierce because my knuckle flares out, so I like a lot of wiggle room for my toes. I got these in 10EEE and could have gone down another half size.

Wow, you went true to size in these things to your Iron Rangers? I feel like I should have went a full size down from my Iron Rangers. I’m either going to try to return these or just where two pairs of socks. Beautiful quality in these things though!

I have been doing boots online. It sucks. All the companies have different last. You can do you home work but it is still a SHOT IN the DARK. When doing a Viberg 2030 last most of the dealers only give a store credit if you return a pair of boots. Sucks when your putting out over 800 bucks. Drew makes a quality boot for the price.
@doublebase6509
@doublebase6509 6 месяцев назад
I’ll tell yeah, learning that first hand right now, but Drew makes an amazing boot. I’m trying to reach out to them now for a return/exchange/whatever. If it doesn’t work out I’ll either just wear two pairs of socks or make a veg tan leather thin insole to take up the space I’m getting in the pair I bought.

I wear a size 13 in nike, what size would i be?
@doublebase6509
@doublebase6509 3 месяца назад
Really tough to say, I’d definitely use their measuring system on their website. That way if you get them and they do not fit you can exchange them. Nike’s run narrow, these run wide…just a guess I’d say 12.5 D, but don’t take my word for it, do the measurement and call them.

It’s interesting because when I called I asked the girl how long it would take to build and get them, she said she had a pair in my size on the shelf (10 inch rough out over smooth brown). I wanted the 8 inch Black rough out over smooth, but I figured…I don’t want to wait 3-5 months. So I grabbed these. I ordered them on Monday had them by Friday afternoon. I got lucky.

My full custom took 11 months. Last few month delay was due to horween leather issue. I sized down a half size from brannok because I have wide feet and they fit fine.

Vibergs are huge compared to brannok. I’d go down atleast a size and a half. They’re narrow too (2040 last). Stick with nicks or whites or maybe jk. Viberg don’t take returns either.
