Drew P on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail - Ep 1: Old Forester Tour & Tasting 

Just got back from there and it was one of the funnest tours thanks to our guide. Have to admit I was highly disappointed in the birthday bourbon. It was my first and last time I order that one. Highly recommend the bar there.

Thanks for the great video and information on tours. We’re heading there for a little over a week in Oct. Any and all tips/tricks are greatly appreciated.

We were there in June and happened to be the same day as the Birthday bottling - so cool. Took my picture next to a PALLET of birthday bourbon (that I'll probably never get). They did the Whiskey Row series with us, too. Kind of a bummer because we can get all the Whiskey Row all day in MN. It would've been cool to do some of the harder-to-get stuff like the other distillers do, or even sell some distillery only options, know what I mean?

OF is some of my favorite (enjoy the whole line) so I'm excited to hear you had a good time - look forward to when I can make a tour myself. Cheers.

I’ll be going to Kentucky in December so these kinds of videos are perfect for my planning. Thanks for the info especially the tips for where to eat. I win points from my wife for those.

That tour is fantastic. As a first tour i would highly recommend it. I learned more from that tour than any other about the process in its entirety!

Awsome video Drew! I love the fact that you give honest bottle reviews as well as the distilleries that you visited. The wife and I are thinking about a trip to Kentucky in the fall to check out some distilleries but I really want to hit up some of the smaller ones this time around. Cheers!

We just did the tour on July 17. Tasting was the whiskey row series. Great tour, and definitely my favorite bourbon brand. Mainly because their stuff is consistently good, and available. I saw your Otto's store pick. Being from Milwaukee, I am happy to see a youtube review from my part of the country!

Glad you enjoyed the Old Forester Distillery Tour. Sure, it's for the tourists, but it's actually fun and worth the time in comparison to the Evan Williams Experience up the street on Whiskey Row. Now THAT is as touristy as a gift shop in Times Square where you buy a I heart NY shirt that shrinks the first time you wash it. Was the bar open when you went Drew? I might have missed it if you referenced it. When we went the distillery tour had only been open two months and they were still working on the bar. The gift shop is pretty sick too.

I have a tour set up for may this year, says a "souvenir" is included, any idea what that may be? I've been told recently on most tours patrons are offered a bottle to purchase from that days release, no matter what it was, any truth in that for post covid tours lol?

Was intrigued by your endorsement of Statesman. Love OF 1920, and the bases are great mixers, even daily sippers. Why do you think that Statesman is their best?? It's had mixed reviews and I passed on it because of that. Convince me. Do you have a full review available?
