Dricus is such a typical Afrikaans boy from Pretoria. The dry sense of humour, banter, love of family and friends. The witty exchanges, all night mischief, its exactly what Afrikaans boys are like. Very low maintenance, low drama and easy going people. Warm, friendly people. And also naturally aggressive and violent, but in a controlled way. Dricus already invited Sean to come hang out in South Africa, he would fit right in with the Afrikaans boys, Sean's authenticity will make him immediately liked
@@rynoagenbach4728 Also, we are not as woke as the rest of the world, so Sean will like it here. And we believe in freedom of speech (well, more than in most countries).
@@kilometres9537 The ANC (African National Congress) is the majority ruling party governing South Africa. During their 30 year tenure they’ve destroyed every parastatal, from the Airways, railways, education, police services, electricity etc. Mostly through corruption and thievery!
Aye that’s awesome. What position did he play? I’m a Kiwi but South Africa is like 3rd on the ranking of countries we support if NZ isn’t involved so I was stoked DDP got the win.
Very difficult to not like Dricus. Solid bloke. Savage in the cage and appears to be a genuine dude outside of it. I'm not rooting against Sean, but Dricus seems like decent chap. Edit: was a great interview too Nina 👍
I wasn't a fan at first particularly because I thought he was fluking his way to good wins but he completely won me over after the Whittaker fight. I like Sean a lot too. Should be a good fight
@Rocko1990 same. I wasn't giving him the credit he was due for the wins he has. Outside UFC too, Soldic was highly rated for a long long time. He has also looked better each time he has stepped in the Octagon.
Nina got the pronunciation of "Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie " absolutely spot on. Awesome interview with our boy Dricus. You killed it! Lotsa love from South Africa 🇿🇦
This dude caught my attention when he just walked away after Adesanya’s tantrum inside the cage on that post fight interview. Now we can see how cool and chill he is. I’m rooting for him.
@@hankthetank8039I think it makes the sport more interesting and give you more of a reason to be invested. Although certainly not enough for me to pay so much money just to see singular ppv fights.
That's a weird thing to say. I'm also guessing you never heard what he said to that guy who was abused by his father. I truly do not understand the shallowness of people
I like the guy but Seans got this. DDP is a less technical Izzy but with more power...that does not match up well with Sean and the shoulder lean. If he can get thru with those hard blows Sean could be in some trouble but that's very very hard to do with his unconventional defense. Against any of the top 10 DDP wins, his offense is on point but Sean is different, that dude is hard to hit and get thru his checks. I've seen most of DDP's fights and mid way thru rd 2 he's already breathing heavy, every muscle in his body flex's every time he pushes forward(and he's got a lot of muscle), Sean ain't beating him to a pulp or anything but by rd 3 it's gonna be the Sean Strickland show. Don't think it'll be a highly entertaining fight, gonna be a defensive master class and Sean will out last him to get the W. Would've loved to see the DDP vs Izzy fight, DDP would've KO'd him within 2 rds IMO. The way he's able to push the fight without using kicks is so unique, would've been a very entertaining fight between those 2 technical counter punchers.
Honestly, Dricus and Sean both seem like fun guys. Dricus seems more like a guy that would be fun to hang out with. Sean would be fun to have at a party, because he'd be talking all kinds of shit. I like both of these guys, and I love that they've gotten to the top of the mountain with unorthodox borderline self-taught styles. Sucks one of them is going to have to lose. Very fun interview, as always
@@Winter8555Seans style is most definitely not common.. philly shell in MMA with excellent defense while utilizing kicks as well? Who else does that? Maybe Bobby Green and to a lesser degree Poirier.. thats about it
Dricus Needed this interview.. Hes actually incredibly likable and we had no idea .. Hes funny af.. Im a huge Strickland fan but after seeing this id be happy for him if he won and Im def gonna root for him for now on.. I thought he was a villain but turns out hes Not.. Great friggin Interview Nina.. This fight is gonna be Epic.. There both Savages.. LETS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nina's laughing when she realized Dricus was just joking about the activated charcoal toothpaste, is hilarious. Awesome fun after a hectic fight on Sat 20 Jan 24. Thank you for sharing. Two wonderful human beings xxx
Why not he's a based G. solid guy. I'm a big Sean fan but Dricus is a good therapist and a smart guy. It's all good. You have to be dumb to dislike this man.

I love the chemistry between Dricus & Nina, made for a very enjoyable, entertaining and humourous interview! He's one of my countrymen and all of us, even those that don't watch UFC are 💯% behind Dricus Du Plessis!! You keep on keeping on champ....🥊💪💥🏅🥇🇿🇦
But like seriously, this interview made me realize that most mma fighters either feel like they are putting on an act for the camera, or they are very camera shy and they don't act normally. He felt like a real person throughout the whole interview, he's very spontaneous. I'm beginning to like him more and more with each interview I see of him.
Normally they are fake yah. Depends on age of the fighter and general approach. Most of them are trying to fit the "superstar" mold. Dustin Poirier has a very clear and concise everyman ufc story centered around him discovering himself as a fighter and the experiences of trying to fit the mold the ufc lays out.
Interesting, as a SA it does make sense now thanks, was wondering why she didn't mention AmaPiano seeing as it was quite popular a while back, saw a video of people listening to it in South Korea and also in Marocco.
Man is going to be huge for MMA. Cool, Calm, Collected. Easy going, sense of humor. Absolute killer in the octagon. And he be signing sponsorships like a F1 Champ Because he is so broadly appealing. A win ons saturday is going to be the start of big things for him hope he stays humble.
This guy is a great ambassador of mma. Well spoken, good looking, respectful and a great fighter. He appeals to a broader audience and sponsors. Can't wait to see him wear the belt.
Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie.!!!! Fucking awesome interview Nina. Was wondering when you were going to interview our Legend.. He really makes me proud to be South African..
It's not even going to be a good contest Dricus is going to wrestle the f*** out of sean. Sean is looking extra Jack to though so I'm guessing he's either on the roads or has been wrestling a time in the gym @@GURJARkabir
@@pithius2191 I do t know what your seeing but he seemed pretty relaxed to me. Watching Leon edwards and Tom aspinall was the definition of awkward but not this
As a Canadian, I have to appreciate DDP's ability to take the piss. I think its a Commonwealth thing where we have that sense of humor where you try to convince foreigners (mostly Americans) about some totally ass-backwards shit like brushing your teeth with ashes as a normal thing in your culture.
What’s wrong with Izzy’s personality besides being a little bit cringey sometimes? He’s a hell of a good man and nobody really hates him among the fighters it’s just useless UFC fanboys.
Yeah sure but in what world Izzy became a star because of his personality and not his skills tho 😂 Have some respect for the craft please. Like the dude or not, but he left his mark on the sport and didn’t sat his ass down with the belt, he was fighting so much for so long and made a few of the greatest moment in ufc even until 2023. Who gives a fuck about his personality
@@cesaralvarez8187 yeah sure cause yourself don’t look cringey at all on your picture 😂 At least the dude is in the hall of fame of mma, what have you done ?
@@apocalypsenow1871everybody’s glazing this dude, it’s like South Africans and Europeans coming out of the wood works. They gunna be pissed when the belt states in the great USA.

It does sound like the shops in our malls. Spot on hahaha. Proudly South African. "Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie!" All of the best for your upcoming fight
Great job. Look how at home you made him feel despite having a camera and a microphone in his face. It just seemed like two people chatting bs mixed with some actual educational points here and there where you learn about each other. Way to go.
I honestly respect the fact he leans in to the jokes about kissing all his homies. Notice how people don’t applaud him for ‘keeping it real’ about that.
