I love Dricus' confidence. The guy's mindset is at the right place, no wonder he has been so successful in his Kickboxing and MMA career, being undefeated in kickboxing and already having won 3 world titles in 2 other organisations. The guy's work ethic is insane and it also helps that he permanently stays and train 1400m above sea level.
That last sentence made me lol considering this dude gasses out after like round 1. It seems like each time he wins is because somehow he gets opponents that gasses even faster lmao
Used to kinda not like this guy but I must admit he's grown on me. He's a super well spoken and confident guy, keeps winning in very entertaining ways. Hard to not like him
I cant wait for this fight, so awesome to be able to support a fellow 'AFRICAN' 🤣 we are all behind you here in Cape Town Dricus. BLIKSEM HOM DRICUS!!!
South Africa gave Australia an ass wooping 8 July in Rugby with a 43 - 12 win and now Dricus vs Rob with another ass wooping... Boer-Jitsu for the win 😂😂 Thanks for another $10 000 sport bet win Dricus !!!
tbf that was smart. He should lean into it and keep saying stuff like i am the A side that's why izzy wants to fight me so bad 😂 Its gonna piss izzy off
@@cup_check_official Izzy is not hard to piss off and it looks like he sometimes wants to be pissed off at force because it makes him perform better since his best performances were when they was trash talk and "bad blood".
DDP was only able to utilize 3% of his endurance and power with his previously blocked nose. Whittaker is in for an impossible battle against this oxygenated specimen.
I'm gonna die if this is gonna turn out to be a Kamaru "30 percent" moment and Dricus was actually fighting at 3 percent. I believe it's bs but I remember when people were clowning kamaru and thought he had no chance against Woodley.
@@jackiechanadventures2509 to me DDP is actually a good fighter. Much more than what people think. But Bobby seems to be of another level. Or at least for what I've seen so far. Maybe after this nose surgery DDP has something to show us.
Dricus is being underestimated. He’s got a lot of momentum, he’s younger, and he’s a good fighter. He manhandled Darren Till, who gave Rob a super close fight. And Rob hasn’t gotten a finish in over SIX years
Rob is very young as well hes just been fighting for a while hes only 32 Rob is going to pick Du Plessis apart if you can think that was a good performence against overrated and washed darren till your tripping
@@sams5746casual nonsenee Rob is OLD in fighting years and not young Only casuals look at age, you have to look at how long did he fight and how much damage he took THAT is fighting age, not his age I hope i never have to read this casual nonsense.again it hurts my eyes
He lost a round to a washed, out of shape Darren Till who was about to be cut from the UFC, versus a hungry Till who had just beaten Kelvin Gastelum when he fought Rob. It wasn't an impressive performance from DDP, but MMA math doesn't always add up to what it should. He also gassed badly against Till, but has had a nose operation, so his cardio might be much better. I'd still go with Whittaker though.
Strickland would body Dricus, Strickland got robbed against Cannonier who put on a clinic against Vettori. Strickland is so underrated just because he doesn’t fight pretty.
I love Du Plessis' confidence. The guy's mindset is at the right place, no wonder he has been so successful in his Kickboxing and MMA career, being undefeated in kickboxing and already having won 3 world titles in two other organizations. His work ethic is insane and it also helps that he permanently stays and trains at 1400m above sea level.

@abeneypiet2362 You clearly don't speak for the whole of South Africa. I'm British and I have South African friends- they're not rooting for this "Boer" to quote their statement.
South africa have always been the perennial underdogs in any new sport we enter and our athletes have proved critics wrong time and time again. From chad le clos beating the great Phelps, a old almost retired Corrie Sanders knocking dr.steelhammer wladimir Klitschko out in the 2nd round for the WBO heavyweight title in 2014 2 years after his death from protecting his daughter from armed robber gunshots. Wladimir and vitali both named him the hardest puncher they faced and their hardest fights. The 95 world cup the springboks beat an imdominable jonah lomu and all black side to win the webb ellis cup. Wayde van niekerk going from just another runner in the 400m to setting a world record. In almost every sport we participate we overachieve the expectations of others. When it comes to sport nobody has the heart of a sputh african. Others will fight and try and do their best and call it a day but our pride for our country and people pushes us beyond our limits, we will die for our sport and country most athletes aren't willing to do that. That is what will give dricus the win. Yes Rob is objectively better and more experienced but never sleep on the heart of a south african. Dricus might get clawed beaten to a pulp battered and bruised. But he'll never stop driving forward no matter what and because of that he's always got a chance to win. He has no quit in him. Even with sheer willpower and determination dricus can get the W. Rob may be the fav but I'll always back dricus because of his chin of iron and heart of gold.
If DDP's nose surgery fixed his cardio issues, he's a legit top 5 middleweight. But Bobby Knuckles is a legit top 1 middleweight. Will be a fun one no doubt
I dont think driscus is top level at all, but i think rob is very worn down already and at some point it has to show Every single fight i am wondering HOW bobby knuckles is still so good and not worn down After the romero fight i thought he was DONE he was rocked like 5 times on bambi legs, and then the izzy ko, and wonderboy also koed him once He took a looooot of.damage already so i woudlnt be surprised if rob loses to ddp but i dont think ddp is special
@@backbone93Lmfao “I think Rob is very warn down already….. I am wondering how bubble knuckles is still so good and not warn down”. You got the second part correct. He is not warn down. Every subsequent fight is showing that he is not only _not_ warn down, he is improving. Some fighters get hurt and KO’d early in their careers but go on to age like fine wine. The last time Rob was significantly damaged (KO) was 4 YEARS AGO. If you look at his fights he hasn’t taken much damage in recent years and he hasn’t appeared to hit his ceiling yet.
There is no shame in losing to Stylebender or Whittaker, they are the elite of the elite. I have a feeling Dricus might find a way to become champ though
You have to admit, Dricus has been the personality at middleweight seemingly ever since around the Till fight. Strickland is great too but Dricus might be drawing more attention at this point.
@@Ahrbok Thats one thing amongst everything else hes done. He said everything right leading up to Till and had a great fight with Till. He did the same with Brunson afterwards. Any interview hes done, media q&a, even fight picks on James Lynch have been good.
@@Ahrbok To say all he did was say that is not true in any way. He was already established as the new popular guy when that stupid controversy happened, & his words are misquoted by everybody.
No, DDP made it personal the moment he made the 'African' Jibe. Now he's just backtracking and making himself likeable by sweet talking after poking the fireplace, and by the looks of it, seems it worked on a lot of fans.
@@nathanielcorbett929 didn't see Micheal Bisping getting salty when Leon Edwards said the exact same thing about being the first real champ out of England.
@@fablenumber1fan The difference was Leon referring to his position as a champion versus Dricus referencing the authenticity of Israel/Ngannou/Usman being African...
As an African I can say you are correct in your statement.. Dricus gives us more hope than those three. He is showing us you don't have to abandon the home land to make it to the top 🙏🏾
Notice he dodged the nose surgery question like a pro ... His cardio is going to surprise you. With a nose that didn't work he was already nuts... Bliksem the Aussie boet 👍
Everyone said that about the springboks but we keep turning up and play with heart. Only reason boys have lost the amounts they lost is due to shit kickers. This man is hungry. Aus vs S.A. Aussies will be coming up with some excuse im sure
@martin13379 Same thing that happened to Brunson he was winning pushed Dricus against the cage and Dricus just randomly bull rushed off the cage in a flurry and chinned Brunson he got gassed after but still
@@FredrickHoxinvilleI think he could hurt Rob this way but it’s very difficult to finish Rob these days. If he does this he’s gonna get gassed out and then get his face punched in
It was a mistake not to make this fight a 5-rounder. We need to see how Dricus can endure 25 minutes at the highest level before a possible titleshot. Adesanya has been in nothing but 5-rounders for a while now.
This guys a stud. Good momentum behind him right now to. He always seems to rise to the level he needs to win fights. Hopefully hes been working on his gastank though
@@bingbong1767most if not all of em are on peds. The most popular ones will get an Usada jacket once in a while to fool the sheep, IF they are starting to get questions
Its going to be a great fight and a lot closer than people think. I do believe rob gets it done though. As far as Izzy goes, he will absolutely destroy dricus.
Plessis is an African treasure, good man. He actually lives there unlike Adesanya, Francis and Usman, so they gotta all show him some respect and not be too sensitive about it...
@@T3akkeydhd Well, then the 3 African champions should start promoting themselves as an American champ, a French champ and a New Zealand champ instead of always bringing Africa into the topic, which was the region they left for a better life and career elsewhere, so there's not much connection for them over there anymore besides for Plessis.
@@alcottdevalte7440you’re a scumbag mate. If Francis was born into wealth like du plessis he would’ve stayed in Cameroon but of course you’d say he’s not a real African because he would be both black and privileged in this scenario
Good luck to DDP! He’s got his work cut out for him against Whitaker. If he can get the W though. The title fight between him and izzy would be so insane. The bad blood between those two would be off the charts.
DDP is a true champ with just the right balance of confidence and humility what a great ambassador for South Africa , cant say much for his nail painting pearl neckless trash talking future opponent .
Ha,ha, yeah., you pretty much nailed it. If i were to bet, at those odds, i would slightly lean toward an upset, a freak ko, it's happened so many times before in MMA if you've been watching 20 years or so. But, yeah, the most likely scenario is Rob winning by points/masterclass.
I'm Aussie and should be rooting for Robert, but to be honest, I hope Dricus wins so that he has his chance to shut Izzy up, Izzy has been talking SO MUCH shit.
@@bubbabuttz1629 Call him whatever you want man. Yeshua, Yahshua, Lord. I don't get hung up on names but I love Jesus because it triggers people and makes them angry so that one is probably correct in the spirit.
Nah Rob is more likely to get kod than Izzy is. Also Izzy has 5 finishes since 2018 while Rob has none since 2017 so who’s more likely to finish Dricus? Dricus has shit wrestling so your point is just delusional 🤡
