"Drift Away" Animatic (+ Fangem Movie AU)

FORGOTTEN STONES: THE MOVIE! Steven and the Crystal Gems are ready for their Happily Ever After, and who better to help heal the pain the Diamond Authority caused than someone who can restore the gems who were shattered? This Feldspar and her ex-rebellion are eager to help, but they seem to have something else on their mind...

More story stuff:
The plot of this fictional movie is that Feldspar lies to Steven about a plan to use Diamond Juice to automate the process of restoring shattered gems and stop making new ones (which is a thing she CAN actually do), but in reality her rebellion is planning to kidnap diamonds and put them under planetary quarantine where they will ideally learn humility and no one will get hurt. Act 2 low point is the fact no one can argue that what they're doing is wrong. but Feldspar turns on her own rebellion for her secret plan to shatter White, after she fails to find a justification to shatter Blue.
Almost everything Feldspar does has parallels with things Rose did. Pulling a parallel to Rose's avoidance issues as the primary villain motivation is the only reason I took Coral out; who knows what happens in plain Forgotten Stones canon lol
For the curious: Spinel doesn't exist in this universe (or if she did, Pink like, gave her to someone before she left). Feldspar's rebellion does have a blue (spade) Spinel, but she's mostly having a tea party with Pink Pearl so she hardly counts.
YES I have a whole movie AU in my head YES it isn't actually related to the actual canon of my OCs YES I did an 8-minute animatic of my AU instead of a significantly more simplistic fan episode of the same length despite 0 familiarity with the medium

I LOVE THIS???? Like, I really like Spinel, but I feel like her story and stuff could have been told through a couple of special episodes. The movie just didn’t feel special and it didn’t address tons of plot concerns, this fits to much better. Like oh my God this is such a better movie idea It kinda makes me sad because it reminds me of all the wasted potential of the ending of the original SU. This really needs to get more popular like, this isn’t possible.

It took the movie 1hour & 30minutes to make me emotional attach to a character. While you and your amazing skills, 8 minutes to make me feel like; *sobbing* "Why isn't this a movie!?" *Sobbing intensifies*

This is so much more emotionally taxing. I FELT it when she cracked from stress, and the thing that was hard for me to get behind with Spinel was that it was blatantly obvious from the beginning that she would turn to the good side with her origin and personality. The solution is simple and we know how she's going to get unconvinced from her motives with the whole steven not being his mom thing. This gem is so much more real and layered, and the look peridot gives Steven shows the person watching from the beginning that something is up, bringing us unease, which is a trope I LOVE. I don't even know if I'm putting this into words right, but personally, I would have much preferred this version than the one we got. This was amazingly edited and planned, I love it!

Can this please be the second movie? I mean, based on how Steven Universe Future, is going, I think this could be a really nice way to wrap things up. Steven finally coping not only with his mother's mistakes but learning that communication (and apologizing when necessary) is key to any healthy relationship. Gosh I love this

This is really cool and super interesting i really like it, it's one of the best comics I've seen so far and i really like the Design of your character/oc, also that it isn't messing with the cannon of the sorry much from what I've seen so far, really love for you to dub it, i don't if it doesn't happy I'll still love it all the same thanks for making a comic worthy of reading :)

This looks sooo good! I have a question though, would you ever consider having people try and voice act the lines? I know there are lots of people (like me) who would be very willing to try to voice some of your characters! People don't realize it, but there are plenty of people who would like to try out being a VA, but just don't where to start. So I'm sure if you wanted to you could find people to audition! Just thought I should mention it. :)

wait but why was coral shattered in the first place? and what was feldspar doing in the empty kindergarten? it looked like she was collecting fragments but i thought everyone left? where did the fragments come from? also why DIDNT she try to get coral back?

I linked context in the description :9 her home planet is post-apocalyptic; all the gems are dead/shattered. Its why she specializes in gem restoration. As for the movie plot, why Coral was shattered isn't super important, so I never planned it out, but I like to think she stole the human zoo and tried to drive off with it; a major character trait is that she has a strong tendency to wander off with things. Feldspar doesn't retrieve her because she wants to "make sure she doesn't come back to a world with the diamonds", but in reality its just that when Coral reforms, Feldspar will have to confront the fact Coral was hurt by what she did, indirectly or not. She's too guilty to face her, so she's putting it off with excuses, and every time an excuse falls through, she gets a little crazier. Sort of like "scammers" who fail to deliver on products people ordered only to meekly send them one at a time a whole year later; they intended to get it done from the start, but the guilt of failing someone made them avoid getting things done in a timely manner.

( same person here) so clearly i lied. Funny story i coundnt find this video for a while. Anyways while i like spinel ,the movie was dull plot wise becuas it HAD to fit in everything about spinel with her motive, character , redemtion, as well as the songs AND the other crystal gems regaining their memories. The plot itself? oh you know heres a giant injector thingy it'll explode soon or whatever. Its just another cluster in a way. This plot connects with the series rebellion arc , and the diamonds show; while yes they are fixing their mistakes those mistakes came with horrible consequences the first time around and those will not be forgetton in an instant. Also i like feldspars design. Tis all
