I had seen photos of a beautiful waterfall with a suspension bridge spanning through the forest high above and was determined to find it. Located deep in the Coastal Range, just east of Lincoln City, we found it: Drift Creek Falls. A beautiful and perfect hike for everyone, especially on a rainy day. It was exactly what we needed as we escaped the winter storm hitting our farm.
This out and back 3 mile hike is simply incredible. Over a gentle 485ft elevation gain, you wind through a lush forest, following along side a small stream that eventually opens up to a beautiful canyon spanned by a 240ft suspension bridge which soars through the treetops above Drift Creek Falls, leaving you breathless. If you are ever in the area, this hike is a must that the entire family will enjoy.
