In this video I go over how I built my XR80 shifter kart that I plan to use for drifting. This was a perfect first project for a novice fabricator like myself. The project was finished over a 2 month period. I am very stoked with how the kart runs! Stay tuned for more drift videos.

What engine do you recommend for my trackmagic frame? I'm a big guy and my hip is right over the inner tube on the engine side of the frame. Was going with the preditor but the motor is a bit too wide and will hang out too much I think. Thanks and awesome videos.

How can I start to build a drift go kart? Now don't judge me but I don't want to use PVC to slide the back end out just straight burn rubber purposes you know and is there a way to have a foot pedal clutch

Speaking from experience, if you're using a 212 and 10 inch PVC, run a 4.4 gear ratio or close to it. Good mix of torque and top speed.
