For the Micah jade and carmelian thing I definitely think it fits the black garden. Yknow, since it's tied with the Gardener and winnower who are mentioned all over the dlc. Seems like it's suggesting the Black Garden is the traveler's birthplace and makes it sorta like the Garden of Eden. I think that makes a little bit more sense then a reference to drifter and his shaders
@@TheLikkittysplitt I could definitely see that as well. Makes you wonder more about what the separation means if that is the case. Is it the black heart? The Sol Divisive? Etc.
when you complete the final shape campaign, it says "look forward to a hopeful future" when final shape was launched, and everyone was buying it, luke smith made a cryptic tweet where he says Hope (capitalized) 3 times. i believe jade represents what strand represents- the river of souls. life. flow state. i believe carnelian represents what resonance reresents, but i dont know much about resonance, to me it's just an unreleased element. i know this is all random but i thought these little details could be revealing
@@TEZAFIM I had this in the back of my mind making this especially Luke’s tweet since it connects to Drifter’s old moniker while under the Shadows of Yor. I’m glad someone else caught it as well 😄
Reminder that one of the major lines from the trailer was “for we are the light of Hope” and that seemed to be a major point of focus in the campaign and marketing.
The Drifter is my favorite Destiny character due to his moral ambiguity and crazy personality. I think Bungie has a problem with handling him nowadays because he served his purpose in demystifying the darkness. Now that we understand great amount of it with things like Stasis, Strand, resonance and such it’s not just the vague “darkness” we’re dealing with and ol’ Drifter isn’t being written into new subplots regarding such because they keep wanting to introduce more characters no one will care about in a year. He’s an amazing seasonal character, though. His connections to deep lore cuts like the Shadows of Yor, the Nine, even Nezarec show that his longevity and tendency to get around means he can be easily placed in many different kinds of subplots that serve as the mortar between larger story bricks. They just need to use him. I wonder if it’s Todd Haberkorn’s schedule getting in the way or something.
@@Pharrow It would be a bummer if his schedule has been halting the continuing involvement of drifter since we haven’t touched base with him since season of the deep. But with these hints sprinkled out there I’m hopeful we will come back to get some answers out of him
@@Chr5_yt I do remember the story behind the Salvation’s Grip mission during beyond light. Haberkorn was sick with COVID so they wrote a scenario where Nolan North would voice Ghost imitating Drifter’s voice for comedy. North ended up perfectly nailing the Drifter’s live instead so they re-dubbed the entire mission and had North serve an intentionally worse imitation. I say all that to say, they probably don’t have North voice Drifter in Haberkorn’s absence out of some sort of respect. If they wanted to use him more and didn’t care about who did it, they very much could. I hope they don’t, though. I know D2 VAs have tight relationships with their characters and it takes death or inflexible contracts to justify replacement actors, at least by Bungie’s own modus operandi
