My dad did this type of work in northern Alberta for 6 years before he could become a drilling engineer; these people deserve way more respect than what society gives them.
They are barely average just past green , I used to make connections MYSELF, I would always bet the opposite Crewa 40pounder that I could complete a connection by myself faster than their Crew could together.I never lost.
@@BobsUruncle-dl7cs I can't stand guys like you on the patch, always talking about how great you are as an individual(you need no help) and claiming the old days were so much better. Your type are actually a huge danger to the rig because of how cocky you are and because you refuse to teach new guys stuff. Met plenty like you as I was breaking out. Usually miserable because of all the debt you have and the ex wife you're paying for.
Thank you to all the oil rig workers who keep our houses warm, our cars moving, for all the products made from oil, keeping the lights on, our roads paved. Im sure im missing a bunch of stuff but oil is the lifeblood of the world. There’s no denying it.
@@johndunn9819 Johndunn9819, do you plan to take a vacation in the near future? If you are then either, use a horse and buggy or walk. That means going through snow, sleet, high winds and rain. If you have to cross the ocean, I suggest using the same exact ship that Christopher Columbus used in the long ago. Oh, by the way it's called the Santa Maria and it does not come with flush toilets.
@@johndunn9819good luck living a life without oil products, you’d be shitting in holes and eating half spoiled food with rotten teeth, you wouldn’t even have a phone to watch this video, or any proper schools to educate you.
Spaxz Man yes I remember ST Drilling, they offered me a job, I drove 1500 miles to join the rig but on arrival they gave the job to someone else, turned out for the best as Halliburton offered me a job the next day. S&t was a good operator.
Rain/shine/snow or storm or hurricane this is 24/7 work nonstop. Respect dignity & integrity to every rig crew from mudhelper/roughneck/motorman/Derrick man/Driller/Toolpusher/DS. Keep up the good work & safety first.....❤❤❤
respect to these men... can't believe how much work they put into it and would have never known without watching this action! 4 minutes but seemed like an hour worth of work... 👏
This is Keanu Reeves on here reaching out to my fans worldwide. To thank them for the love and support. I can’t meet with all of my fans but i make out time to chat with few. I’m nothing without my lovely fans hope you’re staying safe ?
I drill wells in Arizona on a drilling rig. Cool to see how different rigs work and operate. The one I work on had a Kelly and a separate block instead of a two in one. Nice work
I remember watching a show called “The Rig” where the Tool Push was named Donny. I can barely find anything online about it. My guess is that the industry didn’t like the way the show shone a light on every “Rig Pig” stereotype there is; and a LOT of safety stuff. For example, they showed the guys going from the site to some lounge (Fox Creek maybe?) and the boys getting absolutely polluted plastered- then going back to work hours later while they obviously still had a lot of alcohol on board. I don’t work in the industry but know people who do. It really bugs me when my own family members in Ontario have this belief: “Oh yeah, anyone with a grade 8 education can easily go and make $200k in the oil patch for basically doing nothing!!” It was funny and satisfying when I asked why they weren’t in Alberta picking up all that easy cash instead of working for $16.50 in Brampton?
I know Donny. Haven't talked to him for a bit, but worked with him before he was on TV & then again afterwards. He grew up a bit. Some of the stuff they did certainly didn't help the "rig pig" stereotype, that's for sure. Hard work some days with that job.
@lovesloudcars Hey, thanks for the reply! From what I recall of the show, Donny was “That Guy” who was fair but firm and worth every single penny they paid him because he knew every nut and bolt on the entire rig and would rarely have to call in help for a problem because he could always figure out a solution himself. Guys like that are few and far between; in any industry.
I was born and raised in Alberta and worked the rigs for 4 years straight out of high school in the late 70's. I went from weighing 150 lbs to 175 of solid muscle in a few months! Rig work is not for wimps or pussies as its dirty hard work for long hours and most of the time in isolated areas away from home in -50 below. I loved workin the rigs! lol
it so good to watch this guy doing that, i did it in Mendoza Argentina ,it hard job but i love it i wish any company can hire me even now on my 63-year-old,i feel as im 30 ,thank for sharing
I done this for 18 years . You earn every penny you make. Working on that floor for 12 hours making a bit trip doesn’t matter if it’s 100 degrees or -35 wind chill you still done the job.
NOWAY MATE...I worked on the floor for several years and i can see the crew has NOT been correctly trained. Before you wonder have been to Canada working too
I worked on the rigs in Canada for 11 years. Now a Civil Engineer. But I remember this young fella from Africa came. First week he took a sharpie and wrote " Young Millionaire " on his hard hat lol I always wonder whatever happened to him.
Nice and smooth .good hands there .. having to set the Kelly back for each connection is definitely a pain .especially with down hole issues .. but you guys are almost as fast as with a mouse hole .. Dam good hands.
As a west Texan. Canada is super crazy because out here in the Permian basin, we rarely even wear gloves or shirts. I once tripped pipe wearing nothing but a pair of shorts and my red wings.
I did mining engineering here in South Africa. I wish I get employed in the mining industry or drilling company because this for me is passion. I have passion for this kind of work ,all the hard work we don't really look at especially if you have motivated team.It is amazing
We make connections in 1 minute 12 seconds on the super triple I work for, really fast slip to slip from the mouse hole building stands. This is more fun to watch than ours though lol
PLEASE ADVISE ME. I was told to spread my savings across different things like BTC and Stocks to protect and support my retirement. with everything being shaky,I'm considering going into Trade. i don't wanna make the wrong choice.
@Zubaida.Ali.Ali5327Ellen DeGeneres hosted Kate floretta on TV 2 yrs ago that was where I saw kate and followed up.i have also been attending her Trade seminars.
you must have these things in mind 1. Have a long term mindset. 2. Be willing to take *risk*. 3. Be careful, if you're not spending to earn back, then stop spending. 4. Never claim to know - Ask questions and it's best you work with an assistant.
Yo I didn't know Kate was this popular,my cousin trade with her for some months now, I tried but couldn't understand anything it's not my thing tho so I passed Lol. I can testify that trade pays very well because my cousin at 23 bought a house already.
When it comes to Trade, I can confidently say that bitcoin is the best option. But most people think it's all about buying and leaving it to rise but It takes a lot more you need to trade it to earn daily.

My certificate is Floor Man but i can also work as Direck Man because I was once a Direck Man.I am very interested in working in Canada.I am from Indonesia
Lol your so right. I was motors and Derrick and never let my men slack. Unless the r.o.p.s. were way up. That was rare cause I was usually on big triples
I work with Ghana Geological survey Authority, am a driller so when ever I saw a driller working I always what to put more attention to it and know the way forward to the correct side and the mistake side of it, and I will like to visit your company to learn more about your rig
If you have been trained correctly the job is OK. Yes of course you have to be aware of where your hands and feet are and have at least two escape routes planed when going on the rig floor
