its a sadly short game. the tech tree is a lot smaller than you'd expect, concidering how much you can scroll around the screen =/ just when you start feeling powerful BAM it ends
so that's what this game looks like! the trailer on Steam is half-second fragments of them blowing up planets in like 3 hits with fully upgraded tech trees, they don't show how it looks...well, normally. THIS actually looks somewhat interesting now that I have literally any form of context!
Nope, uranium may be needed to upgrade the laser, bt not to unlock it. He just never saw the equipment tab and even once he did, he didn't equip anything.
@@duskyrc1373 were talking about two completely different things, the orbital laser that this comment thread was talking about ABSOLUTELY requires uranium
Had to remind myself of the term, but I like to call this style of games "Exponent(ial) Games" - where the entire gameplay loop is just making the numbers go from K to M to B to T, etc. It's a shockingly simple concept, but just scratches that lizard-brain itch of when you want to watch the number go up.
Just fyi, in the equipment tab you need to choose one of the items to equip at a time, then whilst mining certain blocks with them equipped you level them up, for example with the laser equipped, you get a % increase to all damage you deal, and you level it up by breaking iron and aluminium, just noticed when you opened the tabs neither of the items had any progression so you must’ve not equipped one
Ngl when I watched the update video I was worried we would lose these indie one-shot type games, and I’m so glad Tom’s still making the content he enjoys, as I love it too :)
The name of the game immediatly reminded me of a certain old Yogscast series. Hopefully this one is less of a trainwreck, and holds up better in posterity. 🙃
Okay at 8:10 when you did the fake video end screen I got confused for a second because most of those videos where actual videos I watched recently so I was like really video over what the heck? lol
I saw another RU-vidr play this game but I had to stop watching it because I knew I wanted to get the full Angory Tom experience! My dream has come true!
when i saw you needed gems to upgrade the crafting speed. i got immidiate phone game ptsd. then i realised its not a currency and that was a relief and a half.
This game looks awesome :O I'm gonna have to buy it, and I'd love to see more of it :3 Also appreciate that Holes reference Josh, you love to see it. Or, hear it rather.
These games are so interesting and so fun the first 30 minutes, until you realize nothing literally happens, no progression really occurs. You upgrade your damage 10x, but then the things you are faced with also have 10x health. So nothing changes. The numbers just get bigger. It's just an illusion of progress. And thats when i stop playing. I wish someone would make a game like this, but where the upgrades and milestones actually change the game.
