Did you know? The S.E.A.F. Field manual recommends drinking the "S.E.A.F. Artillery" Cocktail (which is sanctioned by the ministry of unity, of course ) out of one of the discarded shells of the AC-8 Autocannon! Drink responsibly, recycle effectively and demolish mercilessly in one package deal!
I was going to say the SEAF Artillery should be drank out of a spent shell casing, but I can't think of any casing of the appropriate size. Perhaps a cut-down shell from the recoilless rifle, assuming it's similar in size to the modern Carl Gustav M3?
19:43. Helldivers are not clones actually. each new reinforce is by game canon an entirely new person. this is a fact that is pretty hidden but if you go back to the tutorial and read the little contract that you sign it says that "when you die all your armor/weapons and your ship are passed on to the next helldiver to be defrosted"
I know it's unlikely that this will get seen/ made, but when I saw "medic!" pop up on screen, I had the thought that I would absolutely LOVE a hypothetical "Merc classes of tf2 drinks" episode
Nah not the cheapest scotch alone. It'd have to be a total gargleblaster just for his acclimatized liver to function. Bear in mind that normal regular food is practically poison to his stomach by now.
Horrifyingly, the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios has confirmed that Helldivers aren't clones - each and every death is in fact a separate citizen of Super Earth who was born to loving parents, grew up under Managed Democracy, and enlisted to do their part in liberating the galaxy. That's why body type and voice are set to random by default - because every time you drop, you do so as a whole new person :')
I want to say I am so happy to see fun Greg return. I have been enjoying the last few episodes so much because you just seem more present, happier, etc. Idk if it is a life change, a content change, or what, but your upbeat, fun, easy-to-wach vibe in these last few episodes is why I fell in love with this show 3-4 years ago.
First video of I watched from you was about Destiny, then you made one on one of my favorites of all time with Hades, and now you're making a video on another game I've been loving lately! Thanks for being my introduction into mixology, and giving me plenty of ideas for drinks to make throughout the years.
I love how offended he is that the keg of seltzer was out, and he had the same reaction that Captain Jack sparrow does when he finds the rum gone. I love this channel, this show, and this man. It's always worth a freaking watch.
If you haven't played this game, I have found it to be one of the least toxic ones I've played. I have over 100 hours and have only encountered 1 person who was toxic.
especially considering how many active players it has (over 100k on steam, which is huge, top 5 constantly rn), it's really impressive how not toxic the community seems to be
I think because the game is exclusively coop it tilts the scales in favor of folks who just want to get it done. I spend most of my time taking newbies under my wing and letting them tool around with the exosuit and stuff while I just JAR-5 everything around
Okay This is incredibly funny They just put out an official Va-11 Hall-A cocktail book and there's a recipe for "beer" really close to yours It's hopped whiskey, malt soda, and prosecco
Just whipped up some Liber-Tea (sans fire hazard) There's something here. The reduced coke and mezcal play super well together with the cinnamon. I feel like I need to play with either the type or amount of citrus some to tailor it, but damn good right out of the gate.
Greg: as a Malta Goya Enjoya, I have always considered it to taste like Raisin Bran Flake-Soda, and what I assume an unfermented wort tastes like. You took my logical conclusion and just said “this is 80% beer already, so let’s just finish the job how we know how”
I would like to point out that the engineer aboard your ship mentions getting a shipment of "purples" and she mentions it is fruit and how they aren't her favorite but it's good to have something different so Super Earth does in fact get their people fresh produce from time to time
The episodes have been absolute fire lately. Not sure what's different, maybe that there's a lot more video game, or game adjacent content. IDK. Keep it up Greg. ♥
Hey man, I just want to say it's been a long-time watcher. You're amazing with the whole setup and content. Not gonna lie. Your drinks opened up opportunities for me I wouldn't have had if I didn't decide to make them in the moment. Keep this going for as long as possible, man.
The "cacophony of flavors" for the SEAF Artillery drink is actually quite appropriate, considering the assortment of different shells each time you find one.
GREG!!!! I am in love with this new angle. (maybe it's not new but i've been away for a while) the leaning in close to the camera is very much working for you. I hope it's not bad on your back because Please keep this up. the greg chat hunch is my new favorite thing. thanks.
For the liber-tea, could always use Tatratea~ A couple of higher % bottles exist, and they do pack a punch that will hit ya like grenade if you're not too careful
I use a fifth of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum and 15ish Madagascar vanilla beans, put the beans in stick it in a cabinet and shake it up every now and then and in about 6 months you'll get a really good vanilla extract (in my opinion). It ends up being cheaper in the long run and tastes great. I'm sure there are better ways to do it but that is just a quick blurb about how I make mine. Love the channel, keep up the good work.
Yo Greg, been a few months since I tuned in but since when did you get the lab hotplate stirrer + temp probe? I use them every day in a Org Chem research lab and always wanted one for the kitchen, but they're hideously expensive
As a homebrewer, you can find ways. A yeast starter stir plate and an instant read thermometer, followed by MacGyver-esk ingenuity to work for your situation. Homebrewers are creative and/or cheap.
Hey Greg. I love the show. Dont know when it would come up but I had a recipe I wanted you to try out. I saw a bottle of grenadine the other day and my brain went "grenadini" then i googled it and found out thatbit sone how wasnt a thing. I then asked chat gpt to make me a recipe and this is what it gave me. Grenadini Cocktail: Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 1 oz pomegranate juice 1/2 oz lemon juice 1/2 oz simple syrup Club soda Ice cubes Pomegranate seeds (for garnish) Lemon twist (for garnish) Instructions: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add vodka, pomegranate juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup to the shaker. Shake well until the mixture is thoroughly chilled. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice cubes. Top off with club soda to your preference. Garnish with a few pomegranate seeds and a twist of lemon. Enjoy your refreshing Grenadini cocktail!
A few drops of angostura bitters seem like a fitting reward for completing a personal order. Think I'll treat myself to some tonight. For Managed Democracy!
The people who didn't watch the Perk-a-Cola episode are severely missing out if only for revolution that is Ginger Extract. It's completely changed my Ginger Syrup game and I'm never going back.
What I would give to see these drinks in game on the super destroyer. Like a “Taste of Freedom” bar upgrade that gives you a perk or something before a mission 🤣
Okay this episode is just hitting right in all my favorite hyper focuses. You would be completely safe to try using more of those hops, we all know how much you like doing cool stuff with bitter and non-sweet flavors! Before being used to flavor beer hops oil was medicine. The reason it has warnings is that it does have compounds which act as a depressant, but much like alcohol has been used medicinally for centuries. A couple of drops of hops oil under the tongue was considered an appropriate adult dose for "insomnia". So even accounting for how bulletproof people in Ye Olden Days were to depressants I think you could do a full drop in a beer. I'm certain there are some IPAs with significantly more, I just don't know the exact math.
love the video game and dnd themed episodes! Unrelated, have you ever or would you consider doing an episode of sugar-free drinks? I'm trying to manage my blood sugar, but I still sometimes crave a fancy cocktail!
One of my favorite drinks at my local bar listed cola syrup as an ingredient. I asked the bartender what spec he used and he was just like oh yeah we’re just reducing Coca Cola
Japan is really popular for their pop up cafes. It’d be so cool if helldivers could do one with drinks like these even though I know it’d be difficult to pull off. Greg’s bug eyes as he finds out he drank all the seltzer was also hilarious
Wait the perkacola episode was demonitized?? Im a zombies dork so of course i checked that video out, but out of all these videos thats the one that gets demonitized? 🤣
Apparently not sold everywhere, but a way better version of cinnamon whiskey is Sinfire. Made by Hood River Distillery in Oregon. 70 proof, not sweet, actually burns a little.
Your "democracy draught" is exactly what people did in Iceland during their prohibition -which went up to 1989 when (inexplicably) beer was banned but you could buy spirits. People added vodka (or if they were absolute animals, local brenevin) to either malt drink or alcohol free pilsner. You can still buy both at most bars because people got a taste for it.
Awesome episode!! I don’t drink so I do enjoy the non alcohlic eps but i understand you not doing them. Maybe approaching like this where one drink in an episode is 0%
Greg, they make Coke syrup! You should buy it. I discovered it after boiling down a whole two liter bottle and my friend watching and saying, “you know they make Coke syrup right?” Hahaha. They are very similar.
what?! i watched the perk a cola episode. 🥺 i like your take on hell diver boys LOL have not played the game, been playing nightingale. all they have is nectors and elixirs, so probably not a thing for the show. 😂
Curious Greg if you could make a playlist of videos with non-alcoholic drinks. I really have an interest in these alternatives, least of all as a hosting option. I'm even going to dedicate a tap on my kegerator to topo chico or other non-alc stuff.
Since you mentioned a note you couldn't identify in the Angostura: A couple years ago I noticed that Angostura actually tastes very similar to my all-time-favorite soft drink, Moxie. The result is that I've convinced myself that the hard-to-identify note in Angostura is a small amount of gentian root (the iconic - and polarizing - ingredient of Moxie). No independent evidence for that, though.
Have you ever tried old bay flavored vodka? Its not as bad as it sounds and you could make a pretty decent drink with it, idk what, but it would be neat
There's this streamer I follow, she loves Helldivers 2 and how based the devs are. She's trans and her immediate friend group are all varying flavors of the alphabet. Whenever she streamed Helldivers with her friends, there'd be the repeated joke of Liber-T and Democrac-E, like government-sponsored HRT medication. It also just seemed very on-brand for both the gameworld itself as well as the devs.
