Perfect Blue was made by Satoshi Kon, an incredibly talented anime director. Sadly he passed away young. His filmography is short but amazing. His movies are excellent.
Chloe from 24, I remember watching 24 and thinking this is the most sour faced woman I have ever seen. I wonder if she is just like that. Then I found out she was a comedian 😂😭 that made me laugh for years
I'm a cynic who hates almost every remake and "correction" in modern culture, but this really is a good game. Love the original more if you like, but this is not a flawed attempt.
There are certain story beats that are not even close to the original, such as Angela's line delivery at the end, Mary's letter, and Maria in general, but the game remains "mostly" true to the original.
I disagree to sound design should count sound direction as well and given the terrible delivery of dialogue in this game, that sadly is not the case. Also many of the best sound effects were in the og game, so Bloober didn't do much on their own.
@@Szczauqait isn't the weird dialogue that is a problem, it's the line delivery and how the cutscenes were shot that are not even close to the original.
As someone who enjoyed the original but hadn't played it in ages this remake was just a perfect way to get back into it. Felt it was pretty faithful to the original with modern bells and whistles which made for a very immersive and enjoyable experience with some fun unnerving moments too! Honestly don't know why some people are slamming this game beyond just being very purist and protective of original releases.
@@EzeLolo86 Haha, actually I don't like woke stuff at all - probably why I enjoy Critical Drinker's channel so much. Aside from a few little visual changes to certain characters I don't get why people think this remake is incredibly woke. Certainly not when you compare it to how we've seen various other games, TV shows and movies we've seen over the last few years. This feels pretty tame.
I think silent hill takes the edge with horror and resident evil takes it for action, even though resident evil 2 and 7 were pretty scary games to me, silent hill is just terrifying to the next level to me
You can smash practically everything that is made by glass for some extra hp and ammo, windows, car windows, mirrors, tv's, you just need to be in proper angle. Sadly you miss so many by now.
Ahh man i missed the stream..i was at roundhouse in london watching starset play...wicked concert now in going to chill and watch my main man drinker play a halloween game !
I just fought the Abstract Daddy in the remake and i have got to say that the remake is surprising me a lot. Until now, the main criticism that i have is that the amount of enemies sometimes its just too much compared to the original and that they should have tone down a little bit. Also the actress portraying Maria sounds flat in pivotal scenes compared to the OG, but the rest is very good indeed and in some parts, i say excelent. Ps: Yamaoka its still a god tier composer
The second Silent Hill movie is cheap bastardization of Silent Hill 3. But if you want a schlocky movie where dumb characters do dumb things for a few hours, I suppose it might scratch that itch
Just finished it after 16hrs of gameplay, obviously got the worst ending possible on my first try lol. I didn't have high expections or hopes for this remake but I must admit that I was surprised at how good it was. Unfortunately, there are a few itches with UE but other than that, I'd give this a solid 4/5!
Should definitely give this a play in vr. If you've got the bottle for it drinker 🤣 People are selling off ho reverb g2s on eBay for pretty cheap because Microsoft is dropping support for windows 11 for wmr headsets. But it works fine for windows 10. It's got some issues, not as good as the valve index but I got one as my work pc headset for just over £100 Vs £900+ for the index, can't argue with that.
I was beginning to wonder if you were consciously avoiding the entire _Silent Hill_ franchise for some odd reason, since it's never even gotten a mention up until now, let alone any actual reviews of the series.
@@billybatts8283 “Ooh gotcha bro” Nowhere in my comment did i say anything about quitting or firing anyone. I simply said, I won’t by games at full price who use DEI consulting firms.
@@billybatts8283 I would not advise them to quit YET. If Veilguard finally sinks what remains of Bioware, though, quitting on your terms becomes the smarter career option rather than getting dragged under.
There's too many ignorant trollz shi•••ng on this remake, but it's genuinely a Total Blast. I've been a huge fan of classic SH1-4 since like 2011. As well as numerous other spooky titles.
Agreed. I’m about 80% through and having so much fun. It’s been a long time since I’ve had hooks like this in me. Makes me realize how much I long for the days when games weren’t so waypoint heavy and actually let you figure shit out for yourself.
The remake just isn't as good as the original, apart from some improvements. It's viewed as one of the best games and horror games ever made. It's completely understandable that people will criticize the remake. Now certainly there are some people who just hate without any reason but I've personally seen a lot of completely understandable points. It's not a bad game by itself, but it is inferior to the original, which is a masterpiece. It's not that hard to understand.
I dunno, game censored stuff and the characters looking nothing like the originals, for better or worse. Angelica, Eddie and Maria got the worst of it, but James actually looks really good in this game. I've been enjoying it so far though so as a game it's pretty good in that regard.
Angelica? Lol also Eddie and Laura are far better in the remake and the actress portraying Angela is phenonemnal, specially in the abstract daddy boss fight. The only one character that can be said that is not as good as the original is Maria.
@@nerostark4320 Nope, they're all flat compared to the original, not just Maria. Angela's final scene is completely butchered. The voice actors are extremely bland in the remake compared to the original. Making this game an over the shoulder last of us/resident evil knock off was a huge mistake
Ive never understood silent hill and i hated that fog in the original, i think it was only as big as it was due to resident evil, they went hand in hand for some odd horror games reason, the evil within was amazing with my first and only time playing it and the story kinda made sense, ive not played 2 yet but I'll guess its as good, up to now this is not a game! It doesnt exactly hook you in from the get go, fetch precise things from a precise location doesnt give you much open environment, there's nothing to collect, weapons, inventory etc like res evil & the last of us type formula, hope you didnt pay full price of £59.99 plus, what a rip.
Only 3-4 monsters besides closer, abstract daddy, flesh lips, pyramid head. This game looks and sounds good because 2 of Team Silent returned to help. Bloober had a good run but they hired Hit Detection LLC which reduced the "cruel" scenes that made it hit hard, and added social commentary about men and Christianity as a whole instead of a fringe sect.
By chance I saw Metal streaming the very end of this yesterday. I'm currently playing the og game with the Enhanced Edition mod and having a blast. This has so many problems I decided to wait until they sort this version out. Sadly they gutted pretty much any direct sexual imagery in the story from what I heard and talked about with friends having already played it. So that is another black mark against this version.
He is always playing on console, so that is not an option for him. The real issue is the voice delivery so I have no idea if that is even modable in the future. Let alone missing sexual imagery the remake just cut out entirely.
I really do want this, but the Dreamcast taught me to never again buy a console for just one or two games. Maybe I'll start saving to bring my PC up to spec instead.
Comments here definding this version even harder, so It's not just him. Sadly suspect most of these never played the og game and have no frame of reference at all.
I played the original the day it came out, got that and Shenmue 2. The original Silent Hill 2 never became popular until people could get attention for it on the internet. Now those people think they own it. This is a very good game. You use the word woke, but I don't think you know what that is. Woke is social conditioning to Marxist ideology via manipulation using techniques of manufacturing victimhood, falsifying moral superiority and shaming people through ritual public humiliation. Making one character sorta not as good looking as an exaggerated cinematic cut scene is not woke, it's insecurity. The game is a very good silent hill game and survival horror experience.
