To the detractors, I say there are less socially conscious business models. Cynicism is a form of apathy. The wine, by the way, is very clean and is good with seafood and/or salad. I hope she succeeds and inspires other efforts. The brand Newmans Own might have been the first successful model at socially responsible business. Jus' guessin'.
So do I! I'm from MD and we were once the oyster capital but now import inferior stuff because of doomsday harvesting. If left to watermen, there would be no oysters at all. Talk about "not smart".
James Jacocks Let's save the oysters by taking all of the oysters! This can't go wrong! This all actually kind of stinks. We can combat climate change and acidification-we have the tools and knowledge-but people keep screwing things up while others try to fix it. It's actually pretty infuriating, at least to me. Had to rant, sorry. :p
Both of the wines are very good on the palet, but are hard to find in my area. I would like to see more distribution here and I know a lot of people would purchase. I think this is a fantastic idea to help bring Eco-conservation to the publics attention
"This young woman is producing wine in order to help save oyster reefs and protect marine life."....Oh i thought she produced wine to make money....so its a non profit ?
Proud pour's website has a list of the organizations they contribute to. You could check it out and give to those organizations if you don't want to buy the wine. :)
I think they mention that they use old oyster shells from commercial harvest, not wild harvest oysters that they're restoring. Actually this is smart, you need to start from the bottom up with ecosystems, is what I think.
I thought this was supposed to help oysters build coral reefs but they say it's better to eat with wine...😂😂😂😂 kill more oysters to support your business.
LoL, like millennials are gonna spend that kinda money per bottle, they either buy supermarket wine by the box, one buck chuck, or bevmo 5c sale wines that cost around $6-$10 or half that price during the 5c sale.
I love the Oyster part of this it really makes since I talked about it back when I went to school about rebuilding Ocean reefs with oyster and hand made sculptures so I love the idea of remaking destroyed reefs with these oyster shells Thank you seeker daily for making something about this vary important issue
I think this could be a big trend of businesses today, and I do fully support the kind of businesses those willing to give back to the mother nature. I am impressed and inspired by the story.
