So the foam on the Fuzzy Tauntaun drink comes from a tiny flower called the Szechuan button aka buzz button, electric daisy & toothache plant (lol). There's an active compound in it that gives the mouth a numbing sensation that stimulates the saliva glands which gives off a natural cooling effect.
The way they keep making fastpass upgrades for people to abuse the system; like pay to get it better, pay more to get it even better, pay even more to get it ever betttttter, has finally made the entire system completely useless. can we just go back to the times where everyone has an equal chance at riding something? so we dont have to ruin line queues like Indiana Jones where you dont even line up in the nice cool temple anymore because of fastpass.
The Buzz in your TaunTaun drink comes from a flower called a buzz button it is a Szechuan flower and not found in your local groc. although I think there is a natural farm in Fla. that grow them, they soak the flowers in 80 proof vodka and infuse the tincture with a meringue type of stuff and top a fuzzy navel. Its been a long time since I tended bar! Glad you took us along, there is no way I could ever afford to go there. It looks fun
When you were sampling those cocktails and mentioned Bloody Mary it reminded me of my beloved Granda who used to love Bloody Mary cocktails when we went on caravan holidays years ago🍹 I'd love to try that last tingly cocktail! 😄 Also that mouth-watering meal you had at the restaurant looked absolutely divine! 😍 Thanks for another cool video Jacob. Best wishes and hugs 💖
Drinks with the carpetbagger, 100% here for it. I haven't been to Disney since paper fastpass days, the new systems over the last few years just look lame.
HEY, JACOB Well Looks like you had an awesome time today and really enjoyed it and feel like I was going along with you today only wish I could of had the same Drinks you had they looked really good and fun to drink also and I'm so glad your having fun with your daughter and her friends that awesome OK Take care stay safe and will see you on the next video project
Thanks for giving us a much better insight into how Disney works. If I ever see any very young grandchildren, I will take them here. For now, though, thanks for the vicarious experience.
Haven't been to any Disney parks in a long time, but from what you're showing of the Genie+ system it doesn't look like that new system is really worth it (plus paying additional fees for a ride seems bizarre.) did they do away with the Fastpass system or something?
You don't have to purchase it but the parks have been so crowded lately that you are pressured to buy it. You pay $15 then you can book fastpasses all day. Some rides have additional fees. We just go right at park opening and ride all the major rides while it still has no waits so we didn't end up buying Genie.
Bear in mind that he did next to zero research on it before showing up at the park and opted for a "dry run" after he was already inside the park. That's not a bug in the Genie+ system; it's just standard operating procedure for this guy. Be smarter than Jacob, watch any of the thousands of YT videos on the topic, and you'll be fine.
@@K-R-C69 The fact that you have to "do research" to properly use an app to pay for the privilege of standing in line is a complete failure of the app and the process
It's nice that yo are able to spend time with Anna . It's too bad that app did not help you more for the rides. The ones you did manage to get on looked awesome. Those drinks looked good but drinking 3 would have put me under the bar. Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
Kids today have it so easy.In the late 70s early 80s when I would wait 70 minutes in line you just had who you were with to talk to.Today you can watch a movie or whatever on your phone with headphones in so you can ignore everyone else.I'm so jealous.
you have to be up by 7am (if staying at a Disney resort) to reserve your first pass. Depending on the day, the genie plus is worth it but sometimes it is better to just buy the two rides and skip the $15 genie plus.
Hope you’re having some fun with Anna and her friends. That genie thing looks like a disaster. Hope you inquired about getting comped for that. Hope you’ve recovered from the extractions. Enjoy your time at Disney.
I read somewhere that all the "Tom Hanks" voices for Woody in the park are actually recorded by his brother, cause Tom is too busy and his brother is cheaper.
Jacob awesome hotel ur staying at and there is nothing more important than enjoying time with ur family, keep the great videos coming and they were very informative, take care be well
Hey Jacob, you got to get out to the coastal area of NC and visit the Museum of the Bizarre in Wilmington and the Futuro house in Frisco (a spaceship with a green martian). Also, the Beaufort, NC homes made of ships throughout the town as well as their weird historical pharmacy with the gynecological exam bed in the back room is quite interesting and a surprise. Lots of cool ship-building attraction and Blackbeard pirate stories to be had as you sit under the big statue of Blackbeard there as well.
Walt Disney: Anything happen to Disneyland? Cast Member: guests can pay- Walt Disney: Your fired Walt would be pissed if he saw people pay to go on rides at HIS park!!!
… You had to pay for individual rides during Walt’s lifetime. It was definitely more fair back then but it’s important to remember that that was a thing.
This has been so neat! I’m always so preoccupied with running from ride to ride that I never stop to look at the things like the monster in the water fountain or all the little shops. I really need to go back and spend a day riding no/few rides, I guess! Also, the Genie+ isn’t worth it to me, but ESPECIALLY not the extra add-on ones. But I’m also spoiled and do most of my Disney trips with someone who requires a Disability Access Pass and we can basically take our time and do whatever ride we want with that.
that fuzzy tauntaun really was good. they didn't warn me of the tingly feeling, but they also did tell me it wasn't meant for human consumption. as for my genie+ experience I believe it's only worth it at Magic Kingdom because of all the rides they have. a small tip in using the genie+, keep refreshing the page (or switch between the tip board and "my day" pages), some people cancel their times, and you can snatch them up if you're quick.
That cracked me up when they said 🤣 if you're dying go outside. I guess they don't want to be responsible for your death. Doesn't seem like the Genie pass is very good. Sounds like WDW is taking advantage of the customer not telling them what their paying for. I hope you can get a refund.
From what I've read about using Genie you have to continue Refreshing All day because people cancel etc. I'm sorry you had a very expensive experience. But I am glad you had a Fun experience! Thank you for sharing your vacation with us! Stay Safe Enjoy your time at Disney with your daughter
When I first came to Disney World, the Hollywood Studios used to be called the MGM Studios. That Mickey Mouse ride used to be the Hollywood ride. I think I rode on that ride. It all sorts of vintage movie posters and on the screens they showed movie trailers while you wait to go on the ride. I need to Google the previous ride to see what it had inside.
Genie+ is worth it at Magic Kingdom or to do non-top tier rides. Individual Lightning Lane purchases (what you'd get to ride Rise of the Resistance or Smugglers Run) IS worth it. You just need to plan (like old FP program). Come 7:00 am that morning, you need to have already bought into it and start looking for the hard-to-get attractions. Sort of luck the old free system. You needed to either stay at a hotel to book out earlier than a normal day Guest or be logged on at midnight the night before if you are a day Guest (the beginning of your reservation window) to capture the top FP attractions.
Genie Plus reminds me of Jafar at end of Aladdin when he wished for unlimited power, briefly held the universe in his hand.. then got sucked into lamp because of limitations of a Genie.. Disney made the Genie Plus out to be some infinite wonder but just like Jafar it's mostly a trap to waste resources and the negatives far outweigh any gain.
Genie plus seems like a rip off, especially since they hide availability until its purchased. Probably could have complained and got your money back but it's good to document it for your viewers planning trips there.
I am at Disney World right now and I agree. Genie is terrible and while I always like being here, with the crowds and the all the extra charges and increased prices, it has lost a lot of the magic. I am going to take a page out of your book, Mr. Carpetbagger - visit more homespun, classic roadside attractions. (And leave Disney alone for now, at least).
Genie + is such a joke. I felt completely ripped of after I paid extra for that garbage. We still didnt get on the rides that we really wanted to ride. Overall I would never use the genie + ever again. Loved the video Jacob, enjoy some Daddy daughter time my friend!
You’re right that Genie+ is better if you devote some time and attention to it. When I went to Disney World a few weeks ago we would stack ride passes for later in the evening and relax/ take it slow during the day. You can do this because if you do not use your genie pass or book it for later you can book another after 2 hours. In conclusion, if money isn’t an issue I would recommend getting Genie+, but you definitely do not need to get it and will have a great time at Disney regardless.
I am an American currently studying in Madrid, Spain and I had a seafood rice dish at a cafe in Casa de Campo. Probably the best 17 Euro I've ever spent. Only caveat was the Jumbo shrimp still had the head and legs and I didn't know you could have have to crack open a ship like lobster (and mussels to an extent). I tried but I guess I learned that is the case today (and you learn something new everyday. I also did learn about Spain's first Republic and some stuff about the EU that will be of no use to me)
Genie+…. You have to be online at 7am to book your first ride or you lose hours. One scheduled ride at a time. We did it in December, not a fan, and I’ve been a DVC member since 1999, two trips a year.
No. You can't book the night before. If you're staying on Disney property, resort guests can book beginning 7am the day of. Everyone else... when you enter a park.
Unfortunately it won’t let you book anything until you’re physically in the park for the day. There’s exceptions for people who are staying on property or who are doing the park-hopper thing, but for the most part there’s nothing that lets you game the system too much.
The effects you were waiting for like the droids moving and the thing in the drinking fountain are all triggered by people using an app on their phone.
As with most theme parks if you wanna ride & not queue for long best get there early! dont you get in early as staying on disney property.every second counts.! have fun:)
I've heard mainly negative things about Genie+. Apparently it works better at Magic Kingdom because there's lots more attractions at that park. For the parks that don't have as many, it's a mess.. I tried that Fuzzy TaunTaun when I visited Oga's and I loved it. That tingling foam is a head trip, but in the best way. The droid DJ is DJ-R3X... aka Captain Rex from the original version of Star Tours! Paul Reubens even came back to voice new dialog for him!
I know I will love everything Disney, and want to go, but I’m a little intimidated by having to figure out how to get on a ride without waiting for hours. Yikes.
