What a joke... did you stop on release date? Currently that game runs smooth without most glitches like you wrote. Firstly you ought to play and then you can make opinion.
No augmentations, no cybernetics, no profile on the net, no identity, no way to track him, no way to predict his movement. He is a nobody, a ghost in the night, a glitch in the system, he is the Driver. "Anything happens in that 5 minutes and I'm yours, no matter what. Anything a minute on either side of that, and you are on your own. I don't sit in while you are running it down. I don't carry a gun. *I drive* "
The Driver would be a hell of a merc in game. He offers a car that is off the net, and a driver with no mods. Old-school techniques to thwart future over-reliance on tech.
@@joeanderson8707Imagine him flatlining every member of maelstrom on a mission, their cyberized bodies are no match for a quick hammer strike on the head.
i like how you made a more serious tone one than a funny humor one. amazing work, i love both style's, but this one hit different in such a satisfying way.
@@hylianro no i have, i was commenting more on how i normally expect humor based on the creator's choice of work's they normally give us, but was stunned and shocked to see a more darker toned video from this creator. while it isnt the first serious film he has chosen to sink a character into a different universe, they typically have a joke or two in them. where as this one, it was all just a serious tone as it should be and it was neat.
I don't know enough about editing to really praise you for all the details... However, weaving together Evelyn's story and Drive's plot is such a good idea. There's some actual emotional weight here and I love it!
Speaking of details, can we just appreciate for a moment what Eli is doing with the video formats? Drive (2011) in Anamorphic Widescreen (2.39:1, 24 FPS), while Mr. Bean (1990-95) was in PAL (4:3, 25 FPS. Well, kinda 4:3. But let's not get into details over how CRT screens and analog TV works) Very cool. Top notch attention to detail!
Saw this video and decided to watch Drive. Man i missed out on a LOT, that movie is a masterpiece. Thanks to your amazing edits i managed to find that movie even though im almost 12 years late but better late than never.
@@mandu6665 can second this! drive and neon demon - kinda two sides of the same coin in a way. i really ought to watch copenhagen cowboy sometime, find out if it's good. dude loves his neon
Drive is probably the most audience accessible movie Refn has ever made. God Only Forgives is great, but also feels like a movie that punishes people for liking Drive
@@melc311 I'd say that Drive is one of the cringiest movies I've ever seen. The characters motivations and mental ability seem to be jumping around from scene to scene. Cyberpunk is okay, certainly not the shit show that Drive is. But don't worry "the soundtrack is amazing" so, 10/10.
I finally watched Drive for the first time a few days ago. Heard a lot of people praise it, Damn..... they were right, a really good film. I've seen the edit a few times now, just as good.
Man, I love this channel. Every video is so unexpected content wise yet it's always flawlessly executed. Wouldn't have thought of this combo but, as always, rad as hell.
Came back to this video after finishing the game, man poor Evelyn Parker, I know everyone got it ugly in Night City, but her suffering felt so slow and painful, and even though her end is not the best way, but one can imagine the metal torment she was going through.
Drive set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe would be actually so dope. Think about a car-chase in Night City where Ryan Gosling drive at full speed with NCPD on his tail while some Edgerunner's OST is playing on the radio. Damn...
All of your vids are awesome. Love this one as well! My favorite is still Mr. Bean, but not because of any technical stuff, just that his goofiness is such a weird contrast in the cyberpunk world.
Man this is so very well done ! What's more fitting is that Ryan Gosling also played in Blade Runner 2047 which is one of the most Cyberpunk like movies we had these past decades 😃 I bet you can also do the same with his character into something like this
Lol nice..... Pretty cool you added Evelyn in like that and the others.....you should get way more likes and subs from all the real cyberpunk fans ..hope you do...this was a cinematic adventure lol.... You should use snake blisken next time from the movies escape from L A and escape from New York ( Kurt Russel) who played snaked with a one eye patch. Or use Joaquin Phoenix from the joker role lol ...much love ....
The integration of reality and the game is very powerful. The improvement point is that the speed of the car can be changed and the picture can be enlarged when it stops to increase the weight of the car body. When walking, the shadow of the person is slightly distant from the person, and the shadow time is a little different. Interested you can eavesdrop on some words while playing the game and watch the computer recording after stunning people. I haven't played to the end. So far, the game's conclusion is that the woman exchanged work hours with people, so she may be attacked on her behalf. The puppet man is a good man with a bad mouth but a soft heart. The magician took the puppet man's broken one. him try to fix her, but the parts he can get are bad. You can see people on the road with parts older than silver hands.
Y'know, it would be pretty interesting (or bizarre, depending on who's watching) to see... LASSIE, the famous rescuer dog, in an apocalyptic or futuristic setting, like Half Life. Mostly using his Color movies from before the 50's show, the Color 70's Parkranger era of the show, or his most recent movies. Just a suggestion.
This edit is so well done! The action shots go very well, outside the driving scenes I almost forgot this was in Cyberpunk. The scene where he was driving with Evelyn looks like a scene in the game. The scene where he and Judy confront the shady ripperdoc and puts a bullet on the dude's head and threatens to hammer it was insane! And the scene where he bashes the dude's head in with the foot looks like a scene from the actual movie, the lighting there synced up perfectly for that one. However, I think there could be a few improvements. I think that the dashboard at the end should be replaced with one from a car from one of the games, even Johnny's Porsche is retro-fitted with a modern cyberpunk interior. One critique I would discourage is The Driver's lack of cybernetics, but he could just have them well implemented to his body that they aren't obvious in the dark and moody lighting. Plus, editing them on in a convincing way would be way too much effort for a fun edit.
This hits way harder after re-watching the movie for god knows what time now, and right after that replaying the game with patch 2.01 and finishing this mission.
