My mom was born here in 1949 but my grandpa moved them all to Phoenix, AZ which is where I was born and raised. My mom always wanted to go back but she passed away in 2019 unexpectedly before ever getting the chance. My sister plans on making a trip here to leave some of her ashes there.
Thank you so much for sharing this. My family is from there. We moved to California in 1982. I was tearing up watching it. My dad is buried there, and when you drove the cemetery that really touched me. At the end of the video, you did a u turn where the police station is. The red brick 2 story house on the corner, next block is right next to my old house. If possible, I would love to see something about the Koshares.
Have a lot of roots in La Junta...several lines of the family settled in the Higbee valley before the city was founded and then moved to La Junta. Another line started out in Sugar City. Have done a lot of research in the area.
