Totally agree about In-Fisherman. That was the only real fishing show growing up. Lindner brothers and Stange were so entertaining and knowledgeable. Can't wait for these daily-ish videos!
What an amazing destination, Manitou Weather Station Lodge is some of the finest Canada has to offer. Book now folks because when restrictions lift/border opens it will be years before you can get in.
Great video, and a great message. My father inlaw works for an outfitter this time of year, and the only thing they are doing up north is maintenance and upgrades. No clients, he says the industry is hurting bad. #supportoutfitters
Top notch production quality, with top notch personality, with top notch knowledge, with top notch fishing, with top notch scenery. . . . I could go on and on. You're a notch above the rest Jay. I appreciate all of your hard work that you put in to live your amazing life. Well deserved. Keep it up.
Found this channel during lockdown. I've personally done alot of fishing throughout the lockdown. It'd be awesome to fish with you Jay. I live in Southern Ontario
I like that your breaking this video up into smaller segments. I like it when that notification pops and gives me a perfect video to watch after work while winding down for the day. I like jigging for trout off my kayak. I use my marcum flasher out ther on the open water. I know it looks crazy but it is so fun. Live scope would be a huge step up but I think I’m gunna need a bigger boat!!!!😉
Jay, your videos are outstanding. I watch to learn more to help me fish better because I’m a noob. I’d love to see more education on how to pick spots on the lake, what type of lure to use, how to cast and reel, etc. Basic stuff. Regardless, great stuff.
I loved the specific detail about your strats on the day! All the depths, baits, and behavior is great knowledge for people who dont have the money for nice equipment like that
Bro, you have sold me!!!!! I go up to Bemidji, MN with my family every year, and have been wanting to venture to Canada for many, many a year. Time to start saving, as I cannot wait to visit the Manitou Weather Station in the next couple years! Great content as always. Love the channel, and really appreciate the tips and tricks. Keep on keepin on my dude!
So cool man! Thanks for the laker vid! This method for lakers looks addictive. I will be “ living off the grid” in northern Saskatchewan for a few days near the end of the month, and CAN NOT WAIT! Will have my Catch and Cook to try out. Fishing until your arms fall off is the name of the game! Enjoy the alone time. It is important to make time for yourself on occasion. I look forward to the next instalment. Tight lines.
Was hoping you were going back to Manitu weather station it allows me to live vicariously through you can’t wait to go back to Canada Keep up the good work
Manitou system is one of the best fisheries that’s drive to and remote. Not many places you can fish for that variety of fish. Large mouth pile in straight across from the Essox landing.
Well jay might not remember me but I watch all your and claytons vidoe's moved from a town away from the friesens lol. Out on roblin mb watching Clayton's jig and a leach technique. Would love to get tips and catch up one day.
If restrictions lift enough by September, we are heading from Oregon to Jan lake lodge in eastern Saskatchewan, right up next to flin flon, Manitoba. Been waiting on this trip, beautiful area, outstanding numbers of fish, wonderful owners! Thanks for pushing the lodge/guide scene Jay.
Hey man, great message for the folks who depend on the fishing industry for their livelihood. Will book a trip at weather station when they open up the border for the family. Sleeping In the Dirt throwback. Hope you are well.
Great Video, sure hope the restrictions get lifted for us US guys, Lockport Manitoba for Cats and NW Angle of LOW, miss those trips. Also ordered a couple of bags of catch and cook, very impressed, delicious for sure, now if you could only get some retail stores here in Minnesota, would be great. shipping costs are kind of crazy, will still buy it.
Jay, great video as always. Thanks for promoting the resorts. Next time please consider mentioning that bass are not native to that chain of beautiful lakes, and they compete with the native sport fish, trout and muskie, for forage. Time for a bass catch and cook!
Amazing video jay, keep up the good work I go and fish the manitou a week after ice out a five minute boat ride from the boat ramp and we always do good but amazing video keep putting them out always excited to watch them.
Thanks for the video, Jay. I live a stone’s throw from the Canadian border. Crossing my fingers (and praying every night) it opens up here this summer. Sooner rather than later!
Thank you for the PSA on the effects COVID-19 has had tourism and lodges, outfitters and guides etc! Guiding has been a HUGE part of my life since 2005. I have guided throughout the Northwest Territories and Yukon and it sucked missing last year because of COVID and travel restrictions and it looks like this year will be a repeat and it HURTS - especially since I have been doing it for so long and have met so many cool people and have had some pretty interesting experiences on the water - and that’s what’s tough!!
I'm really excited to see your upcoming Walleye footage, Jay! I enjoyed watching you find the Lakers in this segment though. I really need to fish with a guide someday! Right now, Weather Station would be my choice!
I'm just curious if you ever made it down to Esox lake which is south of and connected to Lower Manitou? The people with the outpost cabin there say there are no walleye yet you caught them in Lower Manitou.
dude really love your recent videos can't wait till i head up to moon river in 2 weeks :) plan on watchin all your presentations. hope to retire 5-7 yrs and enjoy the world of anglers :) have you ever bin at the moon river basin ?
I didn’t ask for a refund for my week I had booked at Camp Quetico. I knew Barry needed the money. Going to Lake vermilion this year but hopefully Canada next year
I want lodges to be around but their prices are getting ridiculous for Canadians. Hard to afford a local lodge vacation for over 2k when an all inclusive trip to Cuba can run you less than 1k.
After watching this video I remembered your last video up there, so I decided to start looking at their website and rates, flying from Maine USA, any recommendations?
You can fly to Minneapolis to International Falls. Jump a taxi across the border and either take a float plane up to camp or taxi to the boat landing and get picked up there
Maybe these Canadian lodges will support and appreciate Canadians a little more, seeing as we were the ones to carry them through this. Tired of going places and being treated like a second class citizen because im Canadian.
