Guess you are right. Hope he washed the car well afterwards. I am having a hard enough time cleaning my car (especially the underside) from all the road salt after the snowy season. Cannot imagine what all that sea water will do to his car if he did not wash it properly!

Stick 'Lindisfarne' into Wikipedia, then into a Google Image search. Then do a news search for the articles about a stranded Uber driver and Holy Island, which interviewed the drone operator. Who was unsurprisingly there for the castle you'd see if you stuck Lindisfarne into Google Image search like I suggest. And then please shut up.

How stupid for not building a real bridge over that water for people to get safely from one side to the other. Nah, let's just build a causeway that gets flooded on a regular basis to inconvenience people and put them and their vehicles in danger and still charge them for a toll. 🙄

Yeah I walked to St. Cuthberts Island from the main beach across the dry sand, took two pictures there and went back and it was already ankle deep.

A coastal island near where I grew up had a very popular place for surf fishers ... extensive sandbars at one end that were all or mostly exposed at low tide. Of course, a few deeper channels that you'd have to wade through to get out to the bars farthest out. There were plenty of accidents when the fishermen (too late) decided it was time to get back and turned to see they now had a significant incoming tide and deep channels to cross. Most would make it and count themselves lucky they only lost all their gear. Of course, the area had all sorts of warnings and anyone fishing out there usually had heard all the stories ... but still it happened.

Holy Island - also known as Lindisfarne. Off the Northumberland coast in North East England. With the North Sea coming in ...Near the Scottish border and Berwick on Tweed.

They aren’t. It’s just a refuge house if you were crossing and the tide came and you got stuck there. You just use it to wait for it to lower so you can walk again.

It’s not really a bridge, it’s a highway. It’s a road on ground level. The water isn’t that high up. Look it up on RU-vid and you will see the time lapse. Pretty cool stuff

Even if the water level had stay the same n he was a perfect driver he could not have backed through that water. Backing through it would force it up the tailpipes n kill the engine quick.

You can tell how high the water gets by looking at the high water mark on the posts holding up the refuge shack.
