Imagine if this supposed upcoming Driver reboot went back to it's roots and takes place in the 1970s with era-correct cars and music. Ubisoft would gain some of my respect back.
@@American-Afrikan 70s is the full force for Driver series. Two best games in the series (Driver 1 and 2) look like a proper 1970s crime flick and that's great.
@@VortexStoryI agree with this however with GTA6 coming I think Rockstar has solidified their spot over the last 10+ years. Driver has some work to do, and I’ve been a driver fan my entire life. Its going to be a tall task
While I am happy with some more positive news on the DRIVER series of Ubisoft, I myself am very skeptical just based on previous Ubisoft projects. Whether it be some remakes of older Driver games or if they are actively working/planning on something new and fresh, I feel like a lot of what Ubisoft touches nowadays ends up more disappointing than amazing. More so that same feeling applies to a lot of higher-end game developers in today's world. I'll keep my optimism on this for now, with hopes that some more positive news comes about. Gotta see what goods they give us first before I start going fan-crazy tho!
@@Mutt377 let's hope that Reflections is involved, as they still have many of the game devs who worked on the first games! And why not getting back Martin Edmondson
Driver is one of the most fun and under rated games ever. It brought the 3D world first to life with nail biting car chases just like the movie it was based on way before Grand Theft Auto. The movie director was an absolute blast and wish they would work on this more with more camera options. I'm a die hard fan that's been waiting years to hear some sort of good news about the franchise coming onto the latest consoles. Personally, they should go back to the roots of keeping Driver in the 70's, be able to customize the cars you drive and have a kick arse Film Director to boot!
Same!! ever since they have started the anniversary of Reflections playthrough on their channel I thought maybe its time for some new DRIVER news already 😅
Squealing tires, squealing police sirens and the chase is on!! They seriously need to make a proper DRIVER game a let us floor it in an old muscle car and have fun like back in the 90s in the first Driver game. I always imagine that I am the Driver when I cruise in my old '72 Dodge Demon 340, hehe 😈
I understand that we have grand theft auto five right now and six is on the way, but can we stop and take a look back at how games used to be. Why don’t they make games like this anymore ? Like Driver or True Crime: Streets of LA. ? I really hope they bring back some familiar open world or free roam driving experience and a great story just like before. ❤
Well even if they officially announce a new Driver, i wouldn't be that excited, as the new Driver will 100% be a GTA clone, as shithead CEO already said that he's excited for GTA VI as Ubistoft can leach off of it's success. Microtransactions, pay-wall content, sky high prices for no reasons, and making it "family friendly" wich will end-up killing the charm of Driver, as even Parallel Lines has some charm to it, let alone first 3 games and SF. So let's lower our expectations to the very bottom, as if it happens, most likely that will be a fuck up of immense size, but not like in case of Driver 3 where as we know the game was just unfinished, this time it will be an awful game in general.
ubisoft needs money because they f*d up so much the last years. NOW (because the are the dumbest company ever) they noticed that remakes and nostalgia brings money... took them some years to realize ... if you support this company after all they did, im sorry. I love driver so much but they dont do it because they love driver as much as we do..
If they wanna do it right then before announcing anything new to the series they should remaster the original ones first (thats if they are not rebooting the series)
TV series *_DRIVER_* must be a real pain in the a*** in the making using real cars for practical stunts, because classic cars are just getting too rare and can be real pain seeing 'em getting wrecked 😭
@@VortexStory Yes, we all know that CGI will SUCK in this kind of show. Only the future tech will tell, like enabling car restoration companies to mass-reproduce classic cars for this kind of show💀
To be honest, We should be glad that it's the live action series that got cancelled and not a DRIVER game because that would have been really disappointing and upsetting
if driver goes back to the 70s, 70s style theme vibes, it will fail miserably, hopefully they set it in modern times or even a bit into the future, tanner being of old age and its his final chapter before he passes the torch, on foot is also a must, in game soundtrack would be nice if its good, but radio stations with licensed music would be even better, i feel like this will be their last chance of making it right, if they screw this up its over for driver, or put on hold for a realllly long time again.
Tanner previously performed a J turn in Driver 2 in Las Vegas to get away from a police roadblock in the opening cutscene for the mission Stake Out similar to what's seen here at 3:07.
After what they did with The Crew, I won't be purchasing any game until they change their policy on EoL games, so I guess a film would be a better bet.
@@VortexStory I will keep playing old (or high sea) games until they make it worth for me to spend my money, I will not tolerate them stealing from my pocket. In fact I'm playing Watch_Dogs right now...
If the projects are game related, I'm predicting either a remake of one or two of the classics or remasters of the last ones. Funny, I asked Ubisoft earlier if there were any Driver projects in the works and they said no. *those bastards lied to me*
Woooow this is sad but accompanied by great news!! A new Driver game with realistic damage as they intended before D:SF maybe? That would be so great!! Since they say "Projects" I'm also hoping for D:SF remaster with these great Online/Splitscreen modes!! 😁😁🤩🚓🚓
@@VortexStory i dont hate this, but i love the trilogy much *and much* more that had better vibe and different more cinematic physics and i dont agree that gta like concept is wrong thing, at all, this is best way to the series
Like you said video game adaptations are always risky as most of the time you have to put your trust in a writer/producer that they Will do the game history and story justice. As history has shown it does not always span out that way. Imo I would rather have the game. I hope that they don't Turn it into a live service like the crew. I would rather them continue the storyline or do a remake of driver 2 or 3 with updated visuals and handling
Very happy to hear Driver might be making a comeback really enjoyed that series. Hope they make a movie or series of it too one day. Thanks for uploading this news 🗞️
@@ThaBIGBOSSX I'm almost upset I didn't find the news myself! I usually read the annual report when they released, so I could have noticed the "Hotrod Tanner LLC" dissolution !
@@VortexStory it’s easy to overlook things it happens to all of us but at least we have that exciting bit of news of more games in the series. Also, it’d be nice if they remastered and re-released the Driver games on PSN so more people that haven’t played them can with full trophy support. I think Nightdive Studios that has worked on remastering the Turok games, Shadow Man, Quake, DOOM 64, now currently The Thing Remaster should work on doing the remasters of the Driver games.
