I feel like 99% of the time this is why racing drivers scream and cry. Not because they are afraid to die or be hurt, because they are afraid to let down their team and lose their shot at greatness.
@@DrivingGod21it’s kinda crazy but I think that’s part of the problem with some series now - the threat of Injury is totally gone and drivers drive like they’re invincible
@@Severi611 I kind of see where you're coming from, but at the same time what you just said was "racing is not exciting anymore because people don't die" 😂 Honestly, I feel like it's just less tragic. The drivers take more risk, make crazier passes, and do things that they never would have done if they were fighting with their mortality.
I appreciate Alex was making a presumption but just to be clear, the gravel trap had absolutely nothing to do with that car ending upside down. Tarmac runoffs are crap.
Poor guy. Here's a fair driver trying to move out of the way in order to make way for the faster cars. Gets caught in dump tarmac, something that is so unpredictable. I don't blame him for this crash but can totally understand his agony. If you're reading this, you have my sympathy and support. Don't knock yourself out, you've shown to be a great driver and we hope to see you back next year. Best of luck.
👍👏 Here is a video where, despite my old and great passion for Motorsport and the 24 Heures du Mans, I will never be able to put a "Like". O_o Fortunately the pilot escaped without serious injuries. Long live the enormous progress in racing car safety!
Glade the driver was ok. Loss of grip with lot power to rear axel . Looks like he try to brake and try get it back under controled. Lot of cars where have issues with cold tires in the wet and cold track .
Avoiding the Ferrari beside him who's being a little too pushy on a particularly dangerous corner... Awful coincidence that Ferrari is the cause of so many accidents this year. Almost as if they drive dangerously on purpose, but Ferrari certainly doesn't have a history of that at /s Accident with BMW, Toyota and Aston Martin, all looking rather sus
I'm going to say it again. Take a lesson from NASCAR. The medics and fire fighters would have already been rushing to the accident even before the car stopped moving. One of these days someone will die because it takes too long for the safety team to get there.
@@nathanb286 isn't the yellow flag / indicator lit immediately after someone wrecks? Tell me those racers are so hell bent on winning that they would put a fellow racer in danger?? Plus, if you watch the NASCAR safety team, they block the path with the truck so the safety people can do their job. Poor argument. Someone having just wrecked a car, sitting there for minutes while the confused safety team run back and forth behind the wall trying to decide what to do.
oh my bad didnt know augusto farfus darren leung and sean galeal transitioned, darren leung is the biggest surprise for me (sorry for yapping) but i also find it pretty disrespectful that the commentators still call them by their male names
Race director tells them when they can go, they don't decide for themselves. In this case, imagine an another car loses it in a similar way on the damp surface.
it starts when the car go backwards. So i would assume it's something in the motor. Does it have a supercharger? My guess would be it's the supercharger whining. (just before the drivers whined himself ^^) Big impact though. Glad the driver is ok.
@Mirai.Racing i never heard any driver making any noise while crashing. This doesn't sound like a person yelling imo. I guess you're right when you say it's the differential. ;) Good take !
Saw this on the onboard of the hypercar next to him. The hypercar seemed hesitant to go past the Aston on the straights and it resulted in them both going into this corner. Could have been avoided. No idea why the hypercar hesitated...
Anyone who survived that neverending ordeal at night could probably survive everything 🤣😂. That night was the longest & the toughest so far since I've been watching LM. Is that the longest ever that the safety car was on track?
Its extremely hard to tell, he has the snap from the wet at pretty much the same time the Ferrari's nose goes in. Had to watch it a few times to convince myself there wasnt contact
