Hi...I've come to put my lock back in and the torx screw has moved so when I come to retighten it I can't get the screwdriver back on the screw. Is there a way I can realign as I'm now without a door lock?
Don't really see the need to buy a new barrel kit, as the usual culprits of the lock not working is that one or more of the plates are damaged/bent due to forcing of the key when its not fully engaged with the barrel. And in this video all the plates seem undamaged and are reused anyway. I saved myself a few shekels by stripping it down first, straightening a few bent plates with a pair of pliers and rebuilding. Worked perfectly. I did though, as Jim helpfully suggested, drill holes in the body in line with the 2 locking barrel plates from the other side with a 3mm drill, just enough to be able to reach the bottom of the plates and then punch them out so I could reuse them again. Rather than try to use a punch to secure them from the top after reinserting them, I pushed a little epoxy glue down the slots. They wouldn't be dropping down through the two 3mm drilled holes on the other side either due to the shape of the locking plates. They weren't going to go anywhere soon. .
Hi! I’m rubbish with cars but I’ve just bought a Hykee lock for my 16 plate fiesta due to my car getting broken into whilst at uni ..... I ordered the new antipick lock and all that came was what I assume is the barrel and the keys, is that correct or do I need a new piece? The piece that you drilled to get the pins out, did you use this piece when putting the new lock in? As I’m scared that I’ll drill it and the pins will no longer fit lol... rather confused ... unsure if I’m missing a piece or whether I’ll be safe. Thank you in advance !
Continuing on from above ..... I’ve managed to get the lock apart.... damaged the 2 little pins that pop back in though .... do you know where I could buy new ones to please / what am I typing in for them? Or what else could I use to secure it? Thanks
Yeah that didnt happen in the editing something happened when uploading, but it had been up a while before I realised.... thanks for watching and conmenting👍👍
